Booked in 6/2021 for our 10/22-10/25 Girls Trip. We arrived to find it was closed and had been since Covid. No notice-via phone or email. Literally, we were stranded on the streets with our luggage. Contacted Hilton-first time I was hung up on after explaining the predicament. The second time I called Hilton I was told they wouldn’t/couldn’t do anything. I was appalled. We contacted several surrounding hotels and the had no availability. We ended up walking several blocks with our luggage to different hotels. Finally one was able to accommodate us. We ended up paying 3 times our originally booked price, but were just happy to have a place to stay. NEVER BOOK HERE!
This hotel was in an amazing location, within walking distance of everywhere. Not far at from times square. The room was clean and quiet spacious, as was the bathroom. I would stay here again. Good value for money.
Received email that the hotel is closed for upcoming December 2021 trip. Wish I had known that they weren't going to be open when I booked months ago - now all the hotels are so much more expensive. I laughed at their email saying that they will cancel my reservation at no cost to me - seriously you thought about charging me for your cancellation? I expect better from Hilton.
The hotel is "temporarily" closed (on my arrival date). It was Oct 15th but is now Nov 1st. I am due in for the NYC Marathon on Nov 4th. Oscar Vertiz with the hotel recommended to book elsewhere so I did. No expedia will not refund me because the hotel has a projected open date of November 1st. Hilton won't refund either. The worst is the other people who are booked here who will have no idea when they arrive that the hotel is closed.
I booked well in advance. Today i got an e-mail from Hilton Honors telling me they will not honor my reservation which would start 10 days from now. They gave me no reason and gave me no alternatives. I had to book another more expensive property when in fact it was up to the Doubletree Metropolitan to accommodate me. Pathetic behavior. I expected more from Hilton. I expected more from HHonors. I expected more from the Doubletree Metropolitan. They left me out in the cold and threw no blankets. The correct thing to do was to arrange for a nearby comparable property at the same price. They did not do that. Very sad excuse for hospitality. COVID is no excuse anymore.
