This has happened to me more than once, but why is it when I have tried to check into a hotel in New York for a room that has been booked and paid for in advance, that the receptionist does lots of huffing and puffing,...More
This seems a very busy hotel and we were here as the UN was finishing so there was a lot of security in and around the area as well as in the actual hotel as there were clearly delegates here.
However, we had a very...More
We stayed for five nights in this amazing room ! Location is perfect, close to the metro but also to everything by foot. We didn't have breakfast here, but there is a place right next door where you have all sorts of breakfast. A special...More
The lobby is like a street in New York: restless, overcrowded and noisy. You need to wait in line for breakfast. Staff is friendly and really doing their best considering the vast amount of people they have to deal with. Our room was comfortable, especially...More
This hotel has extremely comfortable rooms in which I've gotten some of the best sleep I've ever had while in NYC. There's NO street noise, which is a huge pro in my book. The hotel is spacious and the suites are well-appointed. The staff goes...More

Intercontinental New York Barclay Hotel New York City ,
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the
affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.

I just stayed at the Warwick at 54th and 6th (Avenue of the Americas), and I found it to be very comfortable. My room was large, probably because the first room they gave me was obviously not cleaned. I think it was an honest mistake, because it's a busy hotel with lots of rooms. The room cost me $185.00 plus tax, and the wifi is free. the location is good, 5 blocks from
Central Park and in walking distance to Broadway. As far as the breakfast the the Barclay, I checked the menu today and i though it was expensive. If you just want eggs, you can always find coffee shops in these areas where you won't have to pay $25 for a breakfast, which is about what you'd pay at the Barclay. Plus tip.
