Great location, front desk staff is very good. But the service at the restaurant is a disaster! they were SO rude! the waiter throw the napkin on our table and scolded us that we did not wait to be seated by the hostess (when we entered she was talking to a colleague and did not pay any attention to us!!).... Dear Ilona K, I am sorry to hear about the service you received at New York Central Bar & Kitchen. This is not indicative of the high standards we hold our wait staff to. If you will, please email qualitynycgh@hyatt.com to speak with the restaurant manager so we can rectify the situation. Best, Lauren More

A big renovation from last year hasn't done much to improve this hotel. A huge institutional-like lobby is boring, and of course in an effort to make more money, the Hyatt has decreased room size and Increased the number of rooms they can sell. A 'regular but deluxe' room is now smaller with cheaped out particle board drawers and no... More

The location is excellent, airport bus stops across the street, tunnel to Grand Central for shops, food court, many subway lines under GCT, others an easy two blocks to Bryant Park. The Grand Hyatt in NY has taken some interesting marketing decisions. I disliked the automated check in/out. Despite the grand lobby facless automated welcome is not what I have... More

This is my 5th time staying at grand Hyatt NYC and without doubt the best! Since it was our wedding trip we came from Ireland for our july 26th wedding. The check in was fantastic really friendly and I think the receptionists name was Lsaura she made it very welcoming. We had a corner room and it gave us lots... More

My partner and I spent a Saturday night here recently. We enjoyed the modern design. The room was tucked away in a quiet area. The location is convenient. It was probably one of the nicest check-in's I ever did. The English man that checked us in was so friendly and helpful. He acted like he really cared about where we... More

This is the first time we have stayed here since their big renovation. I hope they didn't pay the room designers because it's a catastrophe. Let's start withe the worst of bad. My partner and I are not big people, but we are too big for this bathroom. You cannot use the toilet pare without removing it from the holder.... More

I've been to this hotel for 2 weeks at August/2012, with wife and 2 kids(9 years old). The room has space enough to all the needs we had. It's large in fact. Work station, safe, wardrobe, hair drying, but with no coffee maker. The room illumination is not ok. The main subway station is placed aside, even there's a passage... More

Recently stayed here in a room on the 29th floor. The room was spacious, comfortable and was well designed and appointed. WiFi internet in the room was a nominal daily charge and worked well. The hotel is in a great location for discovering this amazing city. The bus from the airport drops you just around the corner making the transfer from the airport painless. The public areas are vast, the deli in the lobby is convenient if not a little pricey (cheaper to pop into grand central station). The rooms are large which is... More

Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
