I have stayed at this property several times now, and it has gone downhill each time. The rooms themselves need updating and repairs (see photos). The service this time was particularly poor: at checkin they put a phantom $12.79 charge on my account for food...More
This is our hotel of choice.
We would not stay anywhere else.
We have been going to Grand Hyatt for many a year. The staff are wonderful and are all very helpful. The restaurant, which we used for breakfast,is staffed by friendly people who have a...More
It has a good location: grand central, shopping areas, and midtown. It was Convenient for stay as I was visiting the ICC. The interior looks simple and neat. The place however needs renovation to bring it to its former glory. But I have enjoyed the...More
It's too bad NYC is do expensive otherwise I'd be there more often.
This is a nice hotel but the standard rooms are small; don't bang your head on the sink drying your feet!
This hotel is, however, wonderfully located and that is worth a...More

This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the
affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.

It gets tricky when answering this question due to many factors being involved. Depends on the day(s) you are traveling. Whether busy day (weekends) or holiday season you may be able to get away with about 25% of what your reservation is but again it all depends on the current booking situation whether they are booked to capacity or have a lot of rooms. If you can book an upgrade at the start you may be able to get a sweeter deal from an off hotel site such as TripAdvisor or hotels etc. If you want a nicer room and plan to upgrade just know that you may not be able to and you just might get stuck with the room you originally reserved so book wisely. Happy travels.
