Fantastically located for Manhattan sightseeing, The Blakely is a small hotel which has thankfully retained its old style wood panelled decor. I really loved this. The lobby is narrow and long, and we could not dine there as the restaurant/Bar is under renovation. Staff are extremely helpful and friendly. A blemish on our stay was the breakfast arrangement, we had... More

Had the chance to finally experience The Blakely New York last week. So happy I did because it really felt like home. The service was amazing and cleanliness was visible everywhere. I would definitely stay and recommend this hotel. So so quaint amazing location. 3 min you are on 5th Avenue for shopping. Subway train 2 min walk. Thank you... More

We snagged two nights on a last minute deal at this quiet little hotel, flush with Italian decor down to it's pretty marble bathrooms. There was wind that howled startling us to see if this city was ok from our rear facing window but aside from that, we were ready to move in. It has easy walking access to restaurants,... More

If your business brings you to midtown this is an escape from overly large and impersonal hotels. Staff is very attentive and you really feel like you're coming home every time you walk in the door. Superb restaurants in the immediate vicinity. Less than a block for subway access. This'll be my NYC base of operations from now on

Old world and simply lovely! The concierge ( especially Edwin ) is second to none. The location is simply perfect. Convenient to everything. Very quiet rooms. The only recommendation that I have, is the pillows are very flat and need replacing. We will definitely stay here again!

It was fine..... There isn't really anything to complain about as you will use it as a base for 16 hours tourist visiting of NY and 8 hours sleep! The quality of the room was good with comfortable beds and a good size bathroom with a really good shower (an essential!) the decor feels slightly dated but it is all... More

I just spent 9 glorious days in NYC and while there I stayed at the Blakely New York. When I go to NYC I always try to stay half way between Central Park and Times Square. This hotel was an ideal location. Not a huge hotel either, which I prefer. The staff was amazing! Friendly, personable and were a huge... More

We stayed for 4 nights last week; hotel is rather dated and it was a shame that the restaurant was closed - we had no warning of this although I had read it on reviews on here. Breakfast across the road was adequate and you can buy extras if you wish, but it could be busy with a wait for... More

We got a nice room with a street view, the room was clean and beds were comfortable. The staff was friendly and helpful, helped book sightseeing tours and recommended restaurants. Free Wifi in lobby. Elevators very small and a bit slow, hotel itself a bit old-fashioned. Location of hotel is excellent.

Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
