My husband and two grown children stayed here in two rooms for four nights. We booked two rooms through a booking agency months before and requested and paid for two double/queen rooms. We arrived and had two twin rooms. The rooms were spotlessly clean and comfortable. Small, but this is NYC. I asked about paying for the larger rooms and... More

i stayed at the Edison hotel this past weekend and after checking out i ate lunch at the Edison diner next door. After finishing lunch i needed to use the rest room, which is located in the lobby of the Edison hotel. The door was locked and can only be opened with a room key. An employee Ed was the... More

When we arrived at the hotel the check in was quick. The room was clean and comfortable and it was tidy. The hotel is looking a little old but apparently it is being renovated. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The location was good right by times square. The only real downside was you had to pay allot for... More

Did they film horror movies at this hotel? It has the "psycho" ambiance. The first room was creepy so we changed, the second room was larger. The room was clean but they could certainly renovate as they are. The window and the window blinds broke and they fell on my cousin. At night there was a loud noise coming from... More

I'm not some posh crank, so I wasn't looking for luxury when I stayed at the Edison for one night. All I really wanted was a bed near Times Square for the night. I got that. Problem was, it wasn't much of a bed. The mattress was so old or cheap that it sagged like a big 'V.' Needless to... More

i stay in hotels a lot. This was my first (and last) time at the Edison. Literally two minutes after we checked into our room a man burst in to ask if we wanted room service. UNNECCESARY. All night we could not sleep because the heater was rattling very loudly. We called the concierce and he told us the rattling... More

The Edison Hotel is a very old institution in NYC and right at Times Square. This has upsides but also downsides. The rooms for NYC standards are a good deal. In general though paying that much for a hotel of that age and quality would be ridiculous. Location-wise it can't get any better. A relatively quiet side-street off Times Square... More

If you're going to NY and need a room this is great. Valet for $35 a day, which is pretty good for the city. Less than half a block from Time Square. Which is the real reason to stay at this hotel. This is not a plushy hotel, it is a place to sleep. There is a TV, bed, bathroom,... More

While conveniently located, this hotel is nothing like the photos on the web. I booked through a reputable online discount site and had to request a room change 3 times before I was even willing to stay the night. I found the hallways and rooms shabby and depressing. Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
