The 70 Park Avenue Hotel garners praise for its friendly staff and prime location near key attractions like Times Square, all while offering a quiet respite at night. Guests appreciate the clean and comfortable rooms adorned with traditional, modern furnishings that contribute to the hotel's elegant atmosphere. However, some travelers have reservations about the value, citing hidden fees and inconsistent pricing. While the hotel's cleanliness is a highlight, its amenities sometimes disappoint and noise can be an issue in rooms, according to reviews.

Very pleased with our stay! The hotel staff is amazing!

We travelled to New York City in part to celebrate our child's birthday. Upon arrival, mini cupcakes and a birthday card were displayed in our room for our child - a welcoming surprise!

The room / bathroom were clean and well maintained. The location is excellent - a short walk to Central Terminal Station, Times Square, the metro (located in the Central Terminal), the waterfront, etc.

The windows are triple glazed, which greatly minimised street noise, even though the hotel's location on Park Avenue was quiet during the evenings / at night.

Tetra Pak water containers were provided upon arrival.

We would return to this hotel in the future.

Great stay from start to finish. The location is perfect and just far enough away, from the main streets, to be quiet but accessible - two minute walk to grand central station and 15 minutes walk to Times Square. The staff are all friendly and extremely helpful and when we arrived we were welcomed with a complimentary bottle of red wine. The room we had was spacious and had everything we needed - air-con, mini fridge, safe, coffee machine, iron/ironing board, robes, slippers, shampoo/conditioner/shower gel/body lotion etc. Room was tidied, with bed made up, every morning with clean towels when we needed them. We would DEFINITELY stay again!!

We usually stay at the Fitzpatrick or Hotel 57 on Lexington, but the cost for 3 rooms over 2 days during the holidays was cost-prohibitive this year. I am so glad we found 70 Park Avenue. The rooms were larger and had everything we needed - refrigerator, hair dryer, nice views, okay water pressure, plenty of towels, etc. The rooms were clean, and even though the bathroom was a little cramped, it did the job. The entire staff, from the front desk to the doorman to housekeeping were incredibly friendly and helpful. The neighborhood is very pretty and close to a lot of the foreign embassies. (It's also very close to Grand Central and the AKC Dog Museum!) There were plenty of places to eat and it only took us about 15 minutes to walk up to Rockefeller Center. It was also only about a 20 minute walk to Broadway. If I could give them a 10, I would. We will definitely be back.

Exceptional location near Grand' Central station. Elegant and quiet neighborhood. Very clean and extraordinarily comfortable hotel. The staff extremely kind and helpful. I particularly appreciated the fountain inside which allowed us to have free fresh water at any time. A detail not to be underestimated in a city where bottled water is very expensive. Furthermore, inside the room there is a machine for American coffee or tea. I highly recommend it to anyone who wants to visit the "Big Apple".

It was a great experience, in terms of a NYC hotel. the room was fairly decent size with two queen beds and the bathroom was a decent size and the bathroom looked renovated and the floor was quiet ,that we stayed on. The streets outside of the hotel were quiet in terms of cars etc until about 830/9a which is very unusual for NYC..a pleasant surprise. Front of the hotel was an easy stop/access point to hop in an uber/ride share. Great location near Bryant park, American Girl doll store and Rockefeller tree/center! Close drive to the Amtrak station (less than 20min).  We made a request to get new sheets instead of sending them up they changed our room to ensure it was better...no questions asked. They were kind and ready to meet our needs.
The staff was amazing, especially Evelyn...she went above and beyond to make my goddaughter's Christmas gift trip /my birthday trip special. The extra (unrequested favors) i.e. a late checkout and a bottle of wine to celebrate were the special touches that made the trip special. Her attention to detail and restaurant recommendations, in addition to her calm yet confident demeanor made it easy to ask questions and find out what I needed.--

We stayed at Iberostar for 6 nights and it was brilliant. Absolutely great location, close to Grand Central Station and a short walk to everything else. The room was absolutely amazing, I went with my mum and they upgraded us at check in to provide another bed as they saw it was the two of us. The room was cleaned daily, always very fresh, and importantly to me there was no noise when trying to sleep from other rooms or the street. All staff were very polite, lovely and extremely helpful. We would 100% recommend this hotel and hope to visit again in the not too distant future.

Friendly staff, small (clean) rooms but small rooms does seem to be the norm in NY, with small bath and shower.

Our room could benefit from a refresh as few signs of wear and tear mainly in the bathroom . Tiles coming off the wall enamel paint coming off the bath. But nothing bad enough to make you complain.

Big bonus, and main reason we booked here, location. You can walk to a large number of the main sightseeing spots in about 20 mins.

If returning would definitely consider this hotel again.

The hotel is ok and the staff are nice. It is definitely nothing fancy but it fit our needs for a one night pre-cruise stay. Please be aware of a $41 fee they will charge your credit card after checking out. When we checked out, we were told we were "all set" and never informed about a fee. We contacted the hotel once we saw the fee on our credit card and were told it was a RESORT fee?! To add insult to injury, we were told the resort fee was for 2 waters in the room, which we never even had 2 waters in the room. We are IHG Platinum Elite Members and were supposed to receive a welcome gift and ironically 2 waters, which we did not, and did not mention at arrival because we didn't want to make a big deal about it. We used this stay as our Platinum elite yearly anniversary reward night and have NEVER had to pay such a ridiculous fee. When we reached out to Alfredo via email, he was less than sympathetic nor helpful. If you are an IHG member I would recommend that you pick another NYC hotel.

Dear 228mellc , Thank you for taking time to share your feedback regarding your stay at 70 Park Avenue Hotel. While I’m glad to hear that you found our staff pleasant and enjoyed your overall experience. I truly regret that the amenity fee caused disappointment , and that our communication regarding this fee was unclear . We strive to provide transparent information about all charges , including the amenity fee, at the time of booking and check –in . I apologize if this was not communicated to you properly and understand how frustrating that must have been, especially as a valued Platinum member . Your loyalty is very important to us , and we should have made sure you felt both informed and valued during your stay . I also regret that the initial response from our team did not meet your expectations. We truly hope to welcome you back for a better experience. Warm regards,

The hotel is in a great location. 5 minutes walk from grand central!
The room was always clean, coffee machine provided and the staff were helpful. The doorman told us where we could get a quick meal on our first evening as we had a late flight and always said good morning and evening.
My only negative was the charges seem to differ from person to person, I was charged £160 but someone else who stayed same length of time was charged £90
