Nestled in the Upper West Side, Hotel Belleclaire is celebrated for its superb location near Central Park and cultural hotspots, as well as its charming atmosphere that beautifully blends old-world allure with modern amenities. Guests frequently commend the attentive and professional service, despite a few comments about elevator glitches. The tranquil ambiance is a highlight for guests seeking respite from the urban buzz, although there are mentions of thin walls. Many find value in the included breakfast and the overall cleanliness and comfort of the rooms, despite their cozy size and some noise concerns.

As a nurse and NYRR member, I would definitely recommend Hotel Belleclaire to colleagues and fellow runners. My family and I volunteered for the United Airlines NYC Half and needed to be at Central Park by 6:30 am. Coming from NJ, we didn't want to risk being late or stuck in traffic, so we opted to stay at a hotel near Central Park. Hotel Belleclaire turned out to be the perfect choice. Its convenient location within walking distance to Central Park, along with a great bakery next door and an elegant bar inside, made our stay enjoyable. The hotel itself was gorgeous and maintained impeccable cleanliness, from the lobby and our hotel room. The experience of being in New York was already exciting, and the staff at Hotel Belleclaire added to it. In particular, I'd like to commend Mark for his exceptional service. He was professional, knowledgeable, and incredibly welcoming. Mark's warm hospitality and great customer service, including providing guidance and assistance, truly enhanced our stay. Thank you to Mark and the rest of the staff for making our time at Hotel Belleclaire memorable!

Hotel's Favorite
My wife and I flew to NYC for a family visit. We travel there at least twice a year. This particular vacation was fraught with disasterous airline/FAA controllers issues. We were trapped in NYC for an extra week because of the enormous amounts of cancelled flights. We booked the Belleclaire for our forced extended stay due to our familiarity with the hotel (we have stayed there before). Let me first tell you that we have always enjoyed our stay at this hotel. But, it was quite conforting to know that even though we were stuck in NYC for an extra week, we would be well taken care of by the hotel and staff. The staff, all of them, from management to the regular employees are wonderful. They are responsive to requests, they help you with transportation and things to do and see. We also couldnt ask for a cleaner hotel. They really take pride in their appearance and it shows. I mean, come on, this is NYC, the land of tourism! You would think that with that much foot trafffic coming and going, the place would be kind of run down, worn out. I assure you that it is not. An additionak benefit is the most lovely french cafe in the lobby, yes it does get quite busy, but people like good things so the crowds can grow for the cafe alait and pastries. The location of the hotel on the upper west side is perfect. When in NYC you tend to walk a lot! This hotel is centrally situated and is walkable to most spots you would want to visit. The subway system is still decent in NYC and this hotel is close to the subway lines. The added benefit for us, is the location to Columbus Ave, Broadway and Amsterdam Ave. Theses streets on the UWS contain so many restaurants and bodegas that you will be able to eat, whatever tye of food you want, whenever you want. So a quick recap. This is our favorite hotel in NYC! I reccomend staying here any time you travel to th 'Big Apple'. Kudos to the Belleclaire for this gem of a place. Go, you'll be gad you did.

The Belleclaire is a gem! My mother and I stayed at this lovely boutique hotel while we were in the city on Valentine’s Day to see Tina Fey and Amy Poehler’s Restless Leg Tour. The historic building has been carefully updated and the bedrooms are absolutely charming. The drinks at Allure’s bar were first-rate and Mille-Feuille Bakery Café was a welcome breakfast stop before heading back home. The reception staff couldn’t have been more accommodating and helpful. They surprised us by making us “guests of the day” - champagne and macarons waiting in our room. If you’re looking for a go-to hotel near the Beacon Theatre or Central Park, don’t look any further. We’ll be back!

Ideal location, near bus snd subway, walking distance to wide choice of restaurants and to Lincoln Center. The historic building offers a perfect blend of charm and comfort. On site French bakery and coffee shop plus new bar and restaurant Allure. Exceptionally helpful and knowledgeable staff. Maria has been a key to our enjoyment of the hotel through the years. Her deep knowledge of the building has helped us spend our visits in exactly the kind of room we enjoy. Shanies is the other gracious and energetic contributor to our enjoyment of the Belleclaire. The positive energy of her welcome and her concern for our needs help make every arrival and every stay very special.

We spent three nights at the Belleclaire this week, and thoroughly enjoyed it. Great location, interesting neighborhood with good restaurants around. The hotel itself was clean and comfortable, with nice features like a very good shower. And the benefit every morning of French pastries and coffee! What stood out for us were the people at the front desk, who were unfailingly friendly and helpful. When we ran into small glitches, they smoothed them out, and were anxious to please. We will stay here when we come back to NYC!

It sounds like you had a wonderful experience during your stay with the hotel group! The friendly staff, comfortable accommodations, and quiet environment definitely contributed to a pleasant experience. It's great to hear that you enjoyed a suite upgrade for your family and had the opportunity to indulge in the French bakery offerings. Attending an off-Broadway play just a few blocks away adds another layer of excitement to your trip. Central Park strolls must have been a refreshing addition to your itinerary as well. Thank you for sharing your positive experience, and I'm sure others will find your recommendations helpful when planning their own stays in the area! Thank You, Hotel Belleclaire

CUSTOMER SERVICE A+ Came here the other night on a whim while visiting a friend. By the time that I left it wasn’t busy and so I wanted to inquire about a future stay. The nicest people work here! When it was time for a cab I had a lengthy conversation with Ronin- who in my opinion needs his own tv show. He was very charismatic and knowledgeable of the area. He suggested a ton of must see and must try restaurants and I was just visiting a guest at the hotel. If this is how the staff treats friends of guests then sign me up! I booked a future stay online for my husband and I to stay here and I hope that I will run into Ronin again.

It sounds like you had a delightful experience at the hotel, especially with Ronin's exceptional service! His charisma and knowledge of the area clearly made an impression on you, to the point where you've already booked a future stay for you and your husband. The fact that Ronin went above and beyond to suggest must-visit restaurants and made you feel welcome, even as a friend of a guest, speaks volumes about the level of hospitality at the hotel. It's wonderful to hear that your spontaneous visit left such a positive impression, and I'm sure encountering Ronin again during your future stay will only enhance your experience further. Here's to more memorable stays at the hotel with exceptional service and warm hospitality! Michael Director of front office

Best value for the money in all Manhattan. An attention to detail from check-in to check-out. I always say good service starts at the top--and at Belleclaire, Robert Holmes, General Manager, has made service the top priority. The entire staff has been imbued with the same focus. This historic hotel is situated in a perfect Upper West Side location, close to dozens of great restaurants, shopping, and has easy access to public transportation. After staying in 25 different hotels in Manhattan over the past six months, Belleclaire is now my go-to hotel! You won't be disappointed.

Terrible hotel. Many of the hallways smell like smoke. Some staff are unhelpful and others are rude. The shower in my room didn’t have any hot water because the shower knob was only for volume, not temperature. When I complained, they offered me a room that smelled like cleaning fluid and smoke. Never again.
