Looking for a great hotel to stay at in NYC. The Washington Square Hotel is where you want to be! Location, price and staff can not be better. You're in the heart of Greenwich Village, less than a block off the 6th Avenue subway line and taxi's going north. You can walk to the West Village, SOHO, Union Square, the Highline, etc... Has a great restaurant (North Square) on the first level. And you are right across the street from the restaurant, Babbo. AMAZING Hotel!!!

I have stayed here about 4 times over the years and I stayed in September and just this week. In September they did not clean the rooms, I understood, it was the middle of the virus. But NYC is now open for business, yet, on my check in, there was a note they wouldn't clean the room for the first three nights, although you could call for towels. This place is fine, nothing fancy, but has character and history. Come on, get your act together for over $300 a night, at least dump the garbage can. And the staff needs some training, too, restaurant not open for breakfast and the only place the front desk person could send me to was the diner.

We sincerely appreciate your feedback, Cathleen, and we apologize for your disappointment regarding service. While the city is very close to operating at pre-pandemic levels, there are still guidelines and protocols set forth by the CDC and NY State Department of Health that we must abide by. We hope to resume normal service as soon as possible, and look forward to delivering a better experience for your next stay.

The hotel has a fantastic location, just a few steps away from Washington Square. We stayed in the penthouse suite and loved it. The views of the city from every window were fantastic. This lovely hotel has upscale everything - a big, beautiful bathroom, a fully stocked shelf of toiletries, an umbrella in the roomy closet, a very comfortable bed and huge, fluffy pillows. The staff is friendly and very proud to share its history. It was built in l903 as the Earl Hotel and many celebrities have lived and stayed here. The art work in the art deco lobby was done by the owner's family. It was a wonderful experience.

The website says that you can book 5 nights and then get one free. However, when going through the booking process, the 6th night does not come up free. When I called the hotel to inquire about this, I was simply told that I was wrong, and the woman bizarrely hung up on me.

This is a smooth hotel! It's team is second to none but understated. Justin, the doorman, is friendly but not pushy. The front desk staff was always kind and helpful. Our room wasn't large, but included a king bed and a perfectly planned bathtub to help smooth the muscles we used in navigating NYC. The location is too smooth too! Easy access to all the sites, especially the too smooth Village.
