Greenwich Village
Commonly known as “the Village” to New Yorkers, it was here in Greenwich Village that both 1960’s counter culture and the LGBT movement were born. Famous for its bohemian past, head to Washington Square Park to get a feel for this diverse and energetic neighborhood. You’ll find NYU students, street performers, skateboarders, kids frolicking in the fountain, and locals relaxing and playing chess. Stroll the streets to discover a mix of majestic town homes and hidden bars and restaurants that give this neighborhood an old-school residential feel. When the sun goes down, check out one of the famous jazz or comedy clubs that still packs them in every night.

My gf and i stayed here for a week and it was Fantastic. Clean, beautiful room, nice continental breakfast, a few feet from the park, fast and reliable wifi. What more could anyone ask? The staff was friendly and kind, and responded to requests swiftly. Highly recommend and would stay here again, no question

We stayed in a quad room for 6 nights - the room was small and a bit of a squash for 4 people, but it was perfectly clean and tidy. The location is perfect, close to west 4th subway which will pretty much get you anywhere, and lots of cafes, bars and restaurants in close walking distance. The staff were all really helpful and friendly- special shout out to our new friend Ronnie- he is an absolute LEGEND! Always made us feel so welcome and had lots of ideas for where to go and what to do. This was my 7th visit to NYC and I’d absolutely choose this hotel for my future visits.

We stayed for six nights with our two sons and couldn't have been happier with our choice. Firstly the staff are uniformly friendly and helpful and make you feel really at home from the minute you walk in the door. Ronnie is an exceptional door man - he should be on the stage! The location is incredible - a walk or short metro ride from everywhere - and the hotel's proximity to Washington Square Park in the summer heat was a real bonus. As was the incredible selection of excellent bars and restaurants in walking distance. The rooms are simple, very clean and comfortable with excellent showers and aircon. The included breakfast was much appreciated as New York is very expensive for Brits at the moment and the WSH was excellent value for money all round. We'll definitely be back!

This hotel is right off of Washington Square Park. The location is great--lots to walk to and the subway is nearby to get you everywhere. The hotel is clean and the staff very friendly and always helpful. This is a typical older building so rooms and bath are on the small side, but it had everything we needed and was very clean. Free continental breakfast and its location was great.

Hotel rooms in NYC are tiny and expensive, but not here. I also prepaid to save even more. Breakfast is included although there's not much on offer, and the coffee is not the best. But overall I must recommend this hotel. The staff are friendly and it's located close to quite a few subway stations - we never had any issues getting to where we needed to go. Washington Square Park, which is right across the street, is also a nice place to sit and relax. There were times when I was awoken by traffic or people outside but that is normal for a city this big. Unfortunately, the hugely inconsiderate idiot in the room above us who threw their shoes on the floor every night (or dropped large boulders) is not excused from this. When you are spending time in Manhattan, you must stay at this hotel!
