I have to admit that I made the mistake in booking. Rushed option and didn't realize there was not private bathrooms. I usually pick up on these things so not sure what happened and if it is well displayed. Anyway, regardless of my own mistakes the rooms are not that cheap. I was hoping to stay in center and it...

Stayed here a week. Pluses: 1) Staff was helpful; 2) Four blocks from major metro stop; 3) Nice mix of international visitors; 4) Room upgraded at my request. Neutral: I found the shared bathrooms very clean and almost always available. Negative: Worst internet service I've experienced in the United States. It dropped routinely and ran pathetically slowly. Since I had...

I stayed for a total of 7 nights and was initially a bit concerned about how easy it would be to access the bathrooms down the hall... not an issue as it turns out. I never had to wait, not even once (admittedly I doubt they were booked up tho). The place was always clean and the rooms were a...

Neat, clean, love the dark cherry wood and old style elevator. If you don't mind crossing the hall to use the bathroom (I didnt) then it's great. Great price! Legend says it's haunted. I'm not telling! 😉

Good small hotel, but price is very high for this plsce. Shower is in the corridor - not comfortable. Very noisy heater, it makes annoying metallic noise, we couldn't sleep because of it. Not very big bed, small for two. The windows are old, noise comes into the room from iutside. The location is good, not so far from Central...

Clean, relatively quiet, modest hotel with shared bathrooms. Free wi-fi is OK, tends to get a bit slow in the evening when everyone is in, but it works. There are enough bathrooms on each floor and even if the ones near your room happen to be taken, you can always go on the other side of the same floor and...

I'll guide you through your first experience at 17. First, you may have heard great things about the place, like Madonna used to live here... it's chic... great bang for buck, etc. The true part is that Madonna used to live here. The rest may have been true at one time, but it isn't now. Basically, 17 is a great...

Had really great experience of staying in this hotel - chose it based on good reviews and impressive - in a good way! - price per night. I was aware that rooms are not huge - but very light and airy, and that shower/toilets are common - all of this didn't matter. Hotel 17 is my new fave hotel in...

We enjoyed our stay at Hotel 17 during our recent trip to New York; it was in a great location close to the subway and the price was good for NYC. We always felt safe around the hotel, even at night. The rooms were simple and small but clean. We were fine sharing bathrooms with others on the floor but...

As others have noted, pretty small room but clean. Shared bathrooms (2 per 7 rooms) never presented a problem. The location - 2 blocks from son's apartment with very convenient parking options - was the key factor for choosing this hotel for a two night stay. It did not disappoint.
