Accomodation in New York is quite expensive, so if it's just somewhere to lay your head for the night at a more realistic price, then this is the place to go. Admittedly, there are no safes or fridges in the rooms, but Starbucks is nearby. It is within walking distance to all the main attractions like Times Square, Empire State,...

Let me start off by saying that the price and location of this particular Holiday Inn were fairly good. However, there were some basics that simply weren't met. Room cleanliness is probably the number 1 concern - while our room had no bedbugs and the sheets themselves were fairly clean, everything else in our recently refurbished room (including all walls...

how can i say.... I already read previous comments so I had a very low expectation before check in. I bid this hotel at relatively reason price so the room is in reasonable size and offers magnificent NYC city view as we were put in at higher floor. However, I bump in a mice right after I settled kid to...

I recently stayed one night in this hotel for a business trip. The location was perfect (just one block away from where our meeting was held, and very close to Columbus Circle). My room had up-to-date furnishings so it had probably been renovated recently. It was quite spacious although the bathroom was small. The bed was comfortable. I had requested...

The urban location and the new beds are the best bets. The rooms are being re-furbished so speak up to avoid an older one. There are many complaints about the noise - but even if you are in close proximity to the elevators and pipe chases - we had the unfortunate episodes of two (2) couples have angry arguments in...

This hotel is very well located, only about two blocks (long ones) from most subway stations, and close to a wide variety of restaurants and delis. Staff was friendly and helpful -- a plumbing problem was fixed very quickly, and missing amenities were quickly replaced. Our one complaint was that you cannot get the PBS channel on the hotel TV,...

The hotel room feels like home, but there was a small bathroom. The shower was hard to manipulate, and there was no minibar. Though I'm not sure about other rooms, my experience was just fine. The pillows are hurt my neck, but the bed is very soft and bounce-able. The best shows for me shows in about the time of...

Nothing to write home about. Seemed clean enough. Definitely no frills. Staff weren't overly friendly when I requested a forgotten toiletry, nor were they helpful explaining how to connect to the wireless Internet. Probably wouldn't return; just stayed here on business.

We booked this hotel because it was cheap and centrally located. The hotel room was fine, small but it had everything we needed and a nice bed. It was fairly close to the subway, Times Square, Central Park, and other attractions. My only complaint was the WiFi was very weak and we ended up using our phones for an internet...

Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
