This lovely, quiet and historic hotel in the heart of the upper east side of Manhattan, is simply an oasis. With large rooms - mine even had a huge patio, and a wonderful lobby staff and service, you feel right at home in its elegant decor. I've stayed at two other Library Hotel Collection properties previously, and Hotel Elysee was just as good. Plus the add day refreshments and super late check out (1:00) are a bonus.

Room Tip: Request the patio. It's an uptick in price but so worth it if you're staying in spring,...

It is like coming home. Such a warm welcome from the delightful staff. So good to hear the Monkey Bar is opening soon! Lovely safe little hotel. Great dining across the street. The rooms are clean and comfortable. The lounge on the second floor is a welcome retreat to read and have a light breakfast.

Large rooms; friendly and helpful staff. They called the day prior to arrival to see if we needed anything. I asked for both rooms close together and they accommodated. The atmosphere is very French. Nice complimentary breakfast.

Simply lovely. We had a Junior Suite which provided us lots of space to stretch out and relax. Great views from windows on three sides! The staff are welcoming and helpful. The lounge was a nice place to relax with a cup of coffee or tea.

Beautiful spacious room with comfortable beds and the best sheets. Quiet, cozy, and magical place in NYC. The staff were all lovely people and the room was spotless each day. We loved the library lounge. The all day snacks and perfect coffee and treats in the morning with my favorite newspapers was such a delight! We will be back to stay again. Thank you!

This was our second stay here this year, and again it was excellent! The room is very comfortable, the ambiance is old world, the staff are helpful and friendly (we appreciated the advice on locations to watch the fireworks), and the second floor library with its refreshments available at all hours was an oasis during busy days. We have already booked again for this fall.

This most elegant hotel was the first leg our our holiday and the minute we entered it, i knew i had chosen well. It is so elegant and the room was just immaculate. But what sets this hotel apart from others is the sheer humanity of the people who work there. The care they put into their guests is beyond the call of duty. Erica the fabulous lady who makes sure the lounge runs smoothly with it's free drinks, snacks and lovely breakfast pastries is quite a wonderful human being and thank you for the lovely chats we had where we even got a bit teary. Gary the doorman who sat with me outside in the evening when i could not sleep. Our talks where just true and honest and Sir you are a true gentleman, as was Carlos the other night doorman who opened the lounge for me to get drinks at 3am! Our room was kept spotlessly clean but we never saw a cleaning lady, thanks for that and i hope you got your few dollars we left you. The interior of the hotel is so classy, as i am admiring the wall paper and touched it i realised it was actually brocade fabric, how good can it get? We left at 5am for the airport and had hugs with Erica and Carlos as we left. I was so sorry to leave, our 5 days of little heaven was not enough but i hope to return one day, i really could not imagine wanting to stay anywhere else if i visit New York ever again. Superb to say the least!

I always enjoy staying at the Elysee; the rooms are well-kept; the service is always good; any issues are resolved promptly. I'm sure it will be even better when the Monkey Bar next door re-opens later this year.

Lovely, comfortable hotel with loads of history. Looking forward to returning when the on-site bar/restaurant (Monkey Bar) reopens. Hotel’s Club Room, serving light breakfast and all day coffee, snacks etc. was great. Everyone employees couldn’t be nicer or more helpful. Will return a third time!

Staying at the Hotel Elysee is like staying with family. I should know, I’ve been staying there for 20 years. It’s an elegant, European experience in the heart of Manhattan. The front desk staff is knowledgeable, professional, generous, kind & welcoming.
