My husband, toddler and I stayed here for a weekend to visit family. The hotel itself is top notch in terms of quality of room and staff service. Every staff we encountered spoke to us and asked how they could help, including staff just passing in the hallway. It is very clean and the included breakfast was very good. We both grew up in NY and likewise are familiar with the standard room sizes and expectations of NYC. That being said, the price we paid was reasonable considering the location. Only 15 min walk to Time Square. Free WiFi is also now included, which may have been an upgrade compared to the past. Overall no complaints. Would definitely consider staying again when back in the area.

Stayed here with my daughter for a 5 day break in the big apple. Great location, close to grand central station on 42nd street. Hotel was clean and perfectly adequate for our needs. Shower hot, bed comfy.... and room was quiet. Air con not great but apart from that it was perfectly fine. Staff were very helpful. The only gripe I have is my card being charged with what I can only think is a damage deposit... $100. Which despite being told had been released back to my account ... 4 days later still hasn’t . I’m hoping this isn’t going to be an issue... we’ll see over the next few days.....

I wouldn’t recommend this hotel in New York, it is at the wrong end of 42nd Street and there is nothing much nearby apart from a few random shops and a couple of undesirable Irish pubs. The room we had was small but functional. There is no proper restaurant here although they serve an incredibly expensive breakfast for $34 pp. The bar facility is only open during breakfast service and reopens at 4pm Until 11pm. We arrived late in the evening, consequently we were unable to get a drink and a snack after our 12 hour Amtrak journey from Canada. We went out to find something to eat and drink but gave up as there was nothing open nearby except the two pubs. Personally I consider this hotel to be nothing but rooms with a reception.

Kevin at the front desk was absolutely the very best! We stayed here only one night and we were upgraded to a suite on the 20th floor with a king bed, sofa, separate dressing area and very large marble bath...not to forget to mention the balcony with a table and four chairs!!! The weather was perfect for sitting outside and just lounging that evening. It was clean and perfect. I stopped by the desk when we got back from dinner and asked them to make up the sofa for the third person in our room and not five minutes later...they appeared! I have never been to a Westgate that did not have the very best service! Beautiful hotel and I will definitely stay there again! My normal stay in NYC is the Waldorf, but since they are closed for a couple years, I stayed here! So very glad I did!! Thank you Kevin for all your kindness!!

We visited from the 11th to the 16th, I travelled alone with my 10 yr old daughter and cannot fault this hotel! It was perfectly located for Times Square and Grand central. The hotel is full of character and spotlessly clean. The staff are helpful especially Chafik the doorman who was a delight to talk to. Be warned the drinks are pricey, and you do have to pay $100 security deposit. I’ve read some complaints about the wi fi, but your in NY why would you want to sit on the internet? Will definitely be returning, my daughter started crying when we had to check out! Thank you Westgate for making our trip even more fabulous!
