I came upon Westgate when searching for a place to stay in NYC. Reviews seemed good and decided to give it a shot. We were not disappointed! The Art Deco styling was a nice treat. Our room was a nice size, very comfortable bed and really nice bathroom. The staff were polite, friendly, and available. I’m room mini fridge was a great bonus. We tend to pop from hotel to hotel when we come in for a weekend. But we may have found our go to! Especially so close to Grand Central. Very much worth a visit and stay! And props for the tri state discount!

From the moment we got there we were greeted by extremely friendly staff and made us feel right at home. From Michael at the door to Kevin at reception, couldn’t ask for anything more. Extremely friendly and approachable, recommended great places to eat and sight seeing spots. Always took the time to speak to us and and the conversations never felt forced. They genuinely cared and ensured our stay was beyond satisfactory. Would definitely use the hotel again just for the staff let alone the incredibly clean and modern design of the hotel. Well done guys, hats off.

This is a only recently opened resort in the centre of NYC 42 nd street less than 10 min walk from Grand Central 20 from 5th avenue Recently taken over from Hilton I believe and a $$$ Restauration last year Not quite finished because of the pandemic and as it is so new…. (Restaurant/breakfast room still closed) This is a 4 star resort but they try hard and achieve to give it an upmarket vibe to attract tourists not only budget conscious business people Kevin at reception was extremely helpful when we got stranded and needed our room for longer (thank you Cunard Line)- he and his boss Victor kindly upgraded our room free of charge as we stayed longer than planned and arranged for a late checkout for a modest fee. They give you breakfast vouchers They check Covid vaccination, ID and all wear masks- however no alcohol gel in rooms or lifts The refurbished rooms work well with nice wooden flooring, high quality beds with Bockspring mattresses, good quality linen and towels, fluffy robes and slippers. Toiletries are provided and of acceptable quality - there is a fridge in each room which you can stock yourself and you get a breakfast voucher which you can use at the bar in the house to buy food and drink. For New York the rooms are spacious but for my taste a bit dark- not upgrading the lighting to LED was a missed opportunity imo for economical and environmental reasons as much as for not having the option to make the rooms brighter All in all happy to recommended or go back if I was in the area the location is perfect and the hotel offers reasonable comfort if you get a deal
