We have never stayed at a hotel with such a well trained staff! Every employee went out of their way to make us feel welcome. We were pleasantly surprised to find out that it was the only Japanese hotel in NYC! What a fun experience! Location was fantastic! Can't wait to stay here again!!

Very nice Park Avenue hotel four blocks from Grand Central and subways. The hotel is mostly for Japanese, but the service is very accomodating. Lots of marble, a comfortable lobby (with free wifi) and a hopping jazz bar, which I eavesdropped in from the lobby. The rooms have Toto washlets toilets, an unusual (and elegant) extra, and very nice toiletries....

A truly unique and lovely experience. sorry I didn't have time to sit in the lobby, relax and listen to the live jazz in the restaurant. Gorgeous flower arrangement and artwork. Everyone remembers the heated toilet seats.

Loved this hotel! Great location, central to everything. Nicely appointed rooms and a fabulous washroom complete with toto toilets that had heated seats and a variety of bidet type sprays and drying actions. Wow! Room service was extremely fast, courteous and the food was really good. Really easy to get a taxi in front. I will definitely be back.

Discovered this lovely boutique hotel on park avenue in december while looking for a good Japanese restaurant. We flew back in February while prices are more moderate because it is off season, just to stay at the hotel and enjoy its restaurant. The hotel is just like being in Japan and the service reflective of their superior ability to make...

Serene guestrooms are spacious and comfortable offering picturesque city views with sound proof windows for a relaxing stay. Kitano's culture shows off their genuine hospitality and Japanese tradition. They show art throughout the hotel lobby and mezzanine which is an extra nice touch. Fernando Botero's (a world class sculptor from Colombia) "Dog" greets you when you walk into the property....

Three blocks from Grand Central puts the entire City within walking distance. Great bathrooms. Typically smallish NYC rooms. Very solicitous staff. Small, quiet hotel. Not "cool" but not stuffy. Complaint: $10/day per device for internet. The industry norm is now $15/day for 5 devices. And how about replacing bedside lamps with new ones with outlets built into the base...it's 2017...

A wonderful place to stay, warm and welcoming. The room was a delight, beautifully appointed and very comfortable. Walking distance to many places. The restuarant had a good menu and live music, the staff were very professional and willing to help. East meets West.

What a delightful stay! I will make it my first choice of hotels upon returning to NYC. Location 4 blocks from Grand Central can't be beat. And quiet eves facing Park Avenue. The crazy toilet takes some getting used to and so did getting the thermostat to warm enough the first night, but those are moot points. Everything is first...

Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
