Stayed here for the first time with friends that have stayed before. I will be back. Fabulous rooms with amazing beds & linens. Beautiful toiletries. The staff here makes it feel like coming home. Can't wait for next trip to NYC

We are a family of 4, 2 adults and 2 teenage children. Having just returned from a 7 night stay here, I felt compelled to share our experience. From the initial telephone reservation to loading our cases into the departing taxi we all enjoyed the most wonderful stay at The Kimberly. All the staff we encountered without any exception conveyed...

Positives: The rooms are beautifully decorated with quintessential old NY style. The doorman are professional, accommodating, and genuinely pleasant. Negatives: Elevators are extremely slow, skip floors, and 1:3 was broken (huge inconvenience). Beds are not the most comfortable and soundproofing of rooms are not as good as other NYC hotels.

From the amazing staff, Bellman, Doorman, Front Desk, Housekeeping - they are the BEST!!!! And if you want to hold a meeting, bring a group, their sales staff is top rate - all the planning goes from your plate to theirs. And, restaurants - three great choices; on the lobby level is Empire Steak House and Bistangle and the Rooftop...

Overall, the property is nice and the rooms are spacious and well-appointed. My only issue is my experience with the staff, who seem to be lacking the professional, guest-centered approach I would expect of a boutique hotel. It's perfectly understandable that construction is going on and things may be a little harried. But that is not an excuse for poor...

Dear Guest, We regret that your experience was not of the quality for which we are so well known. It seems you came in at a time when there were several small meetings being held at the hotel and so the question of whether the person you were meeting was a guest was truly only intended to help us better...

There are many wonderful things to report on this our return visit to the Kimberly. I'll start out with the physical: The hotel is located on 50th street between 3rd Ave. and Lexington Ave. This is midtown on the east side. A very good location. Far from the maddening crowd if you consider Broadway maddening. It will take you between...

This is a very nice boutique hotel in a convenient location. We brought our boys to NYC, and the extra room (suite) made a huge difference. The sofa bed was broken, so they provided us with two rollaway beds at no charge, which actually worked better. The den area was more than large enough to accommodate the deployed beds, the...

Service: Excellent. Everyone was friendly and helpful. Baggage service, valet parking, concierge services - all very good experiences. Dining: We ate one night at Bistango, the Italian restaurant on the ground floor and had a very good meal. Great service and everyone liked their dishes. Rooms: Rooms were fantastic for our family of four. We had a king 1BR with...

I have stayed eight years in a row because I love it here. Now greeted with a kiss by doorman Harry but other staff's service is also amazing and comforting. Great beds in luxury rooms with microwave enabling me to buy breakfast or other meals at close buy mini supermarket. Bring basic utensils! Really comfortable beds. Best location where you...

I have been staying at the Kimberly since 1995. Things have changed a little over the years, but the basic ingredients for a wonderful hotel remain: locally owned and managed; attentive, happy staff; large thoughtfully appointed rooms and suites; supremely comfortable beds; powerful showers; 24 hour room service that's reasonably priced; and thoughtful details like wet bars and chocolates at...

Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
The Kimberly is a traditionally styled, boutique suite hotel located between 3rd & Lexington Avenues. With 30 rooms and 162 suites ranging from 266 to 935 sq ft., we offer personalized service from a warm and caring staff. Most of our suites have balconies, a rarity in NYC and many offer views of the city. Our mattresses are covered with feather beds and decked with Frette linens, which earn comments such as "I didn't want to get up" from our guests. A bonus here, is that in addition to our on-site fitness center, work-out enthusiasts can use any of the NY Heatlth and Racquet Club's 9 locations, including pools and work-out classes at no additional cost and can enjoy a cruise for three hours on their 75 ft yacht (in season) for a fee of $30 which includes a light buffet supper. ... more   less
