The hostel is in a good location, between the Central Park and the Hudson River. Also, there’s a subway station right next door. The downsides are: 1) the beds, which were, by far, the most uncomfortable thing I have lied on. 2) in a 7 days stay, my room was not cleaned once. The bed sheets weren’t changed either. 3) the overall cleaning of the whole place was bad. I spotted 3 little cockroaches in my room. During the first days of my stay I thought “ok, I can handle this.” But tbh by the end I was thanking god I was leaving.

We stayed one night in this hostel. The bed was really uncomfortable and the shower and the bathroom was really dirty. I think you pay too much for what you get. Luckily we were just one night there. The location is not bad.

Uncomfortable beds, dirty bathrooms, poor lightning in the room, extremely expensive for what you get. I’m giving two points because they have good service at the front desk and the location is very convenient.

I was stranded in NYC for a couple of days due to flight cancellations. This place was a perfect, cost effective way to manage the situation. There is a 24-7 front desk so I was able to quickly reserve online and check-in in the middle of the night. This was my first experience not only as a solo traveler, but my first stay at a Hostel so I didn’t know what to expect. I found the place to be clean and safe and the staff was friendly and helpful. There is no AC and no fan. I wish they at least offered a room fan, both for ventilation and to block out the night time construction street noise. It’s actually a relatively peaceful and quiet neighborhood in the upper west side, but the construction at night was noisy. It’s a short walk to Central Park and plenty of nice eateries around with a Dutch flare. If ever I’m in NYC again, I would have no issues with staying here.

Worst experience of my life, this property is a total scam. The photos are not accurate to the condition of the rooms. When I checked in, I had to be moved 3 times due to other guests in the shared rooms not wanting to have another person. When I got settled into the final room, the heat was turned up so high that it was difficult to breath and there was some kind of burst pipe that caused an extremely loud whistling sound. I spoke with the front desk about it and they refused to look or acknowledge the problem, but offered to refund the money through Expedia which I booked through. I ended up sleeping on a bench in Central Park which was honestly better than staying here. After a week, I contacted Expedia because I was yet to receive the refund. I was told my refund for the nights I did not stay were denied due to the hostels policy. They lied to me and kept my $200. I urge everyone to stay away from this place unless you feel like getting ripped off.
