it was opening weekend after 2 yrs closed. they did not test the hotel for a big load of guests. we were locked out of our room for a long period of time as the key (even the master) didn’t work. there were hoards of guests in the lobby waiting for their problems to be solved. only one elevator was working which made the wait unbearable, especially after many ups and downs to get the keys to work. NO AIR CONDITIONING and of you took a shower the entire bathroom would get wet (bad design). Also, they said they had parking at the property but there wasn’t. They sent us to a Parking garage that was 12 blocks away. The staff, although nice, was completely lost and didn’t know what to do. the manager ended up discounting the first night charge of our stay (which was a nice touch, but it didn’t ease the trauma)

Had a reservation for 2/14/2021. The reservation was made direct through Hilton. We showed up and discovered the doors to be locked and the hotel not operating. Someone emerged from the building and told us that the hotel suspended its operations. The adjoining restaurant was closed as well. It took an hour to get through on the phone to a Hilton rep who still insisted the hotel was open. They were totally unhelpful to rebook elsewhere. It was a disaster of an evening.

Cute, spacious (for NY), newly renovated, and friendly staff. Great central location off of Park Ave next to Grand Central. We even had a view of empire state building without asking! The only issue is they had a problem with the water on the morning we were checking out (no water at all!). We were unable to shower but no one called up to let us know. They waived the last day of hotel fee ($35 you can spend at restaurant) but wish we would have had a bit more of an accommodation.

For an inexpensive hotel in Manhattan, one would expect much less. Instead the Renwick sits on 40th street, has an artsy atmosphere, the room was small but with a king size bed; the bathroom was of decent size with a very good shower. Big TV even if I did not watch it. Good service and nice restaurant where I had lunch the following day. The only problem was that in our room the heater was a bit noisy.

I loved my stay at The Renwick! I was excited to see learn it's a historic hotel - the building is really beautiful. I appreciated that the hotel honors the literary history of the building - the quote wall across from the elevators was really cool. Everyone was super friendly here and the room was really clean and comfy. The location can't be beat and it was surprisingly quiet in the room. I'll definitely stay here again!

We enjoyed our stay here. The room was a good size and clean!!! The staff was very friendly and helpful. We didn’t know about the “Urban fee” per day. But to offset it we were given a credit for the restaurant/bar. Overall we were happy with our stay. One downfall of the horn honking in the early morning hours. We all stay there again.

NYC is hard to find a "great" hotel, and Renwick comes with detractions just as most others in NYC. The smell in rooms not facing the street were very strong from restaurants nearby (one room was strong curry smell, one was noticeable deep fryer smell). Request a room facing the street or very high floor. The rooms are nice and updated, but clearly with bad "bones". Can hear everything happening in bathroom next door in terms of water turning on/off, etc. Overall, it's a great location near Grand Central and nice room (not cookie cutter feeling). However, your experience can vary dramatically based on the room you get/where it faces. There are very few non-luxury hotels in NYC that don't have detractors though.

We appreciate the feedback, Matthew. While we're happy you appreciated our location and modern facilities, it's unfortunate our rooms' sound-proofing didn't meet your expectations. We regret your challenges and inconvenience so we'll address your concerns with our team moving forward. We do hope you give us another opportunity to share a more positive experience with you soon.

Cannot carry on enough about the location, employees, accomidations, and restaurant. The rooms are a good size (not the typical NY hotel) and well appointed. The resturant is accessible via the lobby and food/drink beyond expectation. This is becoming my second home.
