I was staying here with my family for my brother’s wedding. The staff was very helpful and made us feel welcomed. The hotel was extremely clean and made us feel comfortable staying there during the pandemic. The hotel was beautiful, very classy with a unique style! I Would definitely recommend this hotel and would stay here again!
This is one of the best hotels I’ve stayed at in NYC. The service is impeccable. The staff is so friendly and courteous. They really took good care of my family. I lucked out with the weather and made full use of the great patio area with my room. The food is really great here as well. I ate at the roof top deck and seriously it was way better than my experience at French Laundry and for half the price. The day of my departure I had breakfast in the atrium area and it was so tasty. The house made sausage and potatoes served along with it are so good. And a note on their covid protocol it is really good. My family and I felt totally safe. I highly recommend staying here! You will not regret it.
As stunning in person as in photos, the architecture of the grand atrium that was restored a number of years ago is among the finest you will find in New York City. Equally impressive was our dinner at the Temple Court on the roof (open at that time), which was perhaps the finest dining experience I have ever had in city — incredible “Garden of Eden”-like atmosphere with outstanding cuisine and service, with a well-thought through prix fixe menu. Rooms were nice, with period-style furnishings yet modern technology, and the lobby restaurant and bar were equally impressive. COVID-era plexiglass separations and processes make for a less warm customer service experience, but my sense is the hotel is doing the best that it can during this challenging period. We look forward to returning when the world is in better shape..…
We took a staycation here and I booked us into a room with a great terrace for a weekend. Check in was fairly easy and quick. (In full disclosure, we live close to the Beekman and in normal times we eat at temple court about twice a month at least. So part of this review will highlight some of the changes due to the pandemic) The room was the highlight of the trip. We had an end terrace with fantastic views. We could see all the way down to the New York Stock Exchange. We had drinks on the terrace and coffee in the mornings. The room was impeccably cleaned and well thought out with a big desk for work and plenty of charging outlets. The bathroom was a good size a with excellent amenities. We had dinner one night at Temple Court on the rooftop. It was nice to have a drink beforehand. The hotel did a nice job making the rooftop feel like a garden. We knew of the pre-fix menu ahead of time and we found plenty of options to our liking. The service was really what brought down the experience. It felt like they were throwing the food at you. Our entrees came out when we were only halfway through our appetizers. I understand that the current environment is challenging, but to charge Temple Court prices for a rushed meal was disappointing, in our view. Our other food experience was disappointing as well. We ordered breakfast from room service one morning and it took 90 minutes to be delivered and the portions were tiny. $27 for two eggs, 2 pieces of bacon and a few potatoes was a bit insulting. I’m not sure if they were out sourcing this, but at $150 for breakfast for 2 people with coffee and my partner got cold oatmeal was disappointing. Not sure if breakfast was a third party or in house, but there are issues that need to be addressed. Upon checkout we relayed our concerns to the front desk and while they seemed to genuinely care there wasn’t much they could do. They did remove the destination fee of $30 something dollars. While this stay at the Beekman wasn’t perfect, we’ve stayed and dined here during ‘normal’ times and the hotel hits it out of the park. We also stayed about 4-6 weeks after they reopened so perhaps they were still working out the kinks. Bottom line we will return, but will wait til the pandemic is more under control and we can experience the Beekman as we remember it in pre-COVID-19 times.…
This is and will be a fine hotel in NYC. Excellent staff and very knowledgeable. This is COVID tide so all precautions were in place. Sadly I miss the hustle and bustle of the hotel from before. The room was nice and perfect for that nice Christmas sleep after work. The only sad part was Temple Court was closed. In room dining was provided by a third party but was okay and cold on arrival. It understandable during this time. I await the day it returns to full force with all the dining open again.
