The Beekman A Thompson Hotel will give you an experience to remember! The facilities and staff are first class and treat you like a welcome guest. The comfort of the room is excellent. My room was in a corner and very quiet.

My wife and I had a fantastic stay. We were in town to visit our daughter who is an emerging NY playwright. We were attending a reading of her work in mid-town. We liked returning downtown each evening to the relative tranquility of the WTC area. Great dessert and nightcap each night. The architecture of the place is a stunner. Beautiful lobby. The gorgeous restaurant/bar space with a kaleidoscopic atrium view is a highlight. Great Fulton St. Subway access with elevator to get the A Train we needed for mid-town. Amex Platinum Fine Hotel and Resort benefits were honored. Our room was upgraded and our credits applied at check out. We'd definitely stay here again. Wife adds: "Every piece of art work is fabulous." She's still talking about the Panda artwork in our room. Concierge was very helpful to us in timing our Uber to LGA for a very early morning flight. We'd definitely stay here again.

Fun, hip hotel. Great, friendly staff. Old, restored hotel and a nice vibe. Small rooms, but hey its New York! The Temple Bar is busy and probably over priced. Le Gratin is fantastic and became our home bar for the weekend.

Amazing bar & drinks, VERY cool vibe, decent food, great, helpful staff...but...crazy loud rooms from street noise. We expected some obviously - it's NYC - but it was like the window was wide open! (Glaze/replace the windows maybe?!) They offered us a fan and/or ear plugs...which was nice, but we paid over $1,200 a night?!. HA! Wasn't expecting to have a fitful sleep. No coffee maker or slippers in the room but good coffee downstairs. Mould in the shower. Still worth it...just not a clear winner.

First of all, the hotel is beautiful. My son joked and said we were in Narnia. It’s kind of what it felt like. The rooms were a good size for NYC and they were clean with great overall service. We got 3 rooms and 2 of them were ready before the designated check-in but we did have to wait for the last one, no biggie. The major issue I had was that on the second night of our stay, someone seemed to have set off the fire alarm in the wee hours of the night. Followed by loud announcements telling us to stay in our rooms. From the time we heard the first alarm until the final announcement that the coast was clear, was over an hour. We missed a good portion of our day the next day due to needing a nap. Things happen and I know it was beyond their control. However, this is a Thompson Hotel. No apology, no mention of anything the next day even though it had a big impact on our stay. Honestly, not sure what was happening at the hotel as the next day much of the dining room was blocked off. Seems like they had a series of events that took place while we were there that had an impact on our stay and the Thompson/Hyatt did nothing to make it right. The restaurant (temple ct) has good drinks but breakfast is a miss. Better of getting a bagel or some other breakfast in NYC.

Dirty, dark .The smell of weed was over powering. Staff were unhelpful and rude. Room wasn’t ready until 2 hours after checking in time. The room was dirty, stained and generally for five star hotel , nasty. The whole experience made in feel unclean. Yuck

This was my first stay at the Beekman. I typically stay closer to Midtown but I was attending a conference. While several lower priced properties were available in the area, I selected the Beekman because of the Hyatt affiliation, and I'm happy I did. The customer service was outstanding, particularly with the woman at the front desk who checked me in and out, and interacted with me via the text messaging on the app. While the property is beautiful and I really enjoyed seeing it - the customer service is what really makes this hotel shine.

We got checked in until late afternoon because of room readiness problem. And during one of day's morning there wasn't hot water. Maybe good for summer, definitely not recommended for winter stay. Room was clean and breakfast was good. .

Our only disappointment was being charged, erroneously, for a large bottle of water we never consumed from the minibar. I took before/after photos of the bar for that very reason but did not have to produce them as the charge was quickly removed when I called the front desk the next day (accounts dept. never returned my voicemail, by the way). The whole experience left a bad taste in my mouth as I suspect it was housekeeping or someone else who took the bottle, or the hotel just charged us intentionally and unnecessarily to get a few more dollars from us. If this happens to 1,000 guests and only a fraction complain, the hotel has made thousands more dollars. It’s sneaky and not at all a good look for an otherwise reputable hotel. Separately, at check out the employee appropriately pointed out that our Amex FHR credits had been factored into our bill, but inappropriately commented that we “did so good,” as though we had been penny-pinching, watching our spending, and only “went over” by $5 and change. It made us feel like we shouldn’t be staying at a hotel that thinks we can’t afford to be there. And further, while certainly not a requirement, to be sure, I was surprised that the hotel didn’t just cover that last $5. But that’s neither here nor there.

A destination unto itself with exceptional staff, luxurious accommodations and fantastic food and beverage options. From the moment we arrived we felt at home. We didn't want to leave! The location is great as well with the Brooklyn Bridge only a short walk away.
