Our visit to the Riu Plaza was a good experience, the check in was quick and efficient, the rooms were a good size and very clean, and maintained daily. The breakfast was amazing, even though crowded at times, if there is a good reason for booking this hotel, the breakfast is this. Conveniently located for all attractions and right on top of Broadway. If thete is a minus maybe management could look at coffee/juice and toast for early leavers or people going on early trips, as when we asked it was flatly refused.
I picked this hotel because it was comparatively inexpensive and its location in the heart of the Theater District. I was very impressed by how helpful the front desk was, the cleanliness of the room, the decor, and the incredible breakfast buffet. It is about 15 short blocks to Central Park for anyone looking for a pleasant run or walk. In addition, it is just a block or two from Schmackery's Cookies (yum!).
Awesome motel! Clean and convenient to attractions. We loved staying here. And should I mention since Covid I’m a Germaphobic but was very comfortable here. Some Broadway shows are a block away. Breakfast was ok but I’m not a breakfast eater usually. Highly Recommend this place!
Spent 2 nights, had rooms. Rooms were clean and very quiet. There is a restaurant and bar on site, which is nice, though there are plenty of restaurants nearby. Great location near theatres, easy walk to the MOMA. Usually stay at a different hotel, but for this area of the city this was good. Added fees are only about $22 night per room.
This hotel is located in the center of the restaurant row and close to most of Broadways theater. It is great for vacation or work. Great rooms, very clean property and huge and complete breakfast buffet great for a day full of activities that the big apple offer.
Located halfway between Penn Station and Central Park it is a great location when staying in NYC and going to the theater. Lots of theaters and a myriad of restaurants to choose from. Times Square is an easy walk away also. Based on the performance of staff I would say this is one of the top hotels we have ever stayed in. Staff are friendly, accommodating, and obviously used to dealing with all kinds of guests. Room was clean and very European in style, i.e. not overly large, but with everything you need for a stay when you are not planning to hang out in your room. Why would you in NYC? The breakfast buffet was ample and diverse and kept well stocked. We were there on a weekend and they had three dining areas open so wait times were minable. Our view from the 24th floor was grand and being that high meant street noise, a constant in NYC, was not disturbing to our sleep, Our bed was very comfortable which was good because we did a lot of walking and needed recovery time. We checked our luggage when we checked out as we did not need to leave NYC until mid-afternoon. When we returned to pick it up one of the staff came out with us to help get us a cab. There had been a parade up fifth street and he knew it would be tough to hail transport. He knew where to go and what to do and made it easy for us. I wish I had gotten his name so I could have commended him to management. A fantastic overall experience that we will hope to experience again the next time we go to New York.…
Hotel was very clean, front desk was very helpful and friendly. Great location, close walking distance to Times Square and Broadway. Lots of food options close by. I would definitely stay here again!!
We stayed here when visiting NYC. The hotel is very modern and clean. The room was spacious and the shower was excellent however the door did leak slightly. Generous sized bed. This hotel is well positioned for getting around and being close to time square is handy. Breakfast was included which was handy however it was a bit of a bun fight in the mornings due to how busy hotel is. The bar was great however some unsavoury characters were about one night who had drunk far too much. I think the hotel staff should have been a bit firmer and put them out sooner! This was a very good stay overall. Have marked it 4 stars on basis it is not a luxury hotel as such but it is clean and convenient for seeing the city. Also not too pretentious in that we could feel comfortable coming in wearing shorts and trainers.…
Unconscionable mandatory $88 “facility fee“ for which you get a couple of bottles of water (depending on the length of stay), gym access, & “free“ Wi-Fi, which can’t reasonably be considered an “extra” these days, + they force you to enter detailed demographics to access it, presumably so they can use/sell your mined data (it never functioned as that process was interrupted by a dropped signal); an insulting rip off which will make me avoid RIU properties in the future. Otherwise: New high-rise hotel with very slightly nicer/larger rooms than comparable hotels in Times Square. Nice bedding, small desk, small area for clothes storage, full length mirror, mini fridge, safe. Pretty nice bathroom with basic toiletries, magnified wall mirror, shower (no bath). No robe/slippers/umbrella, and most disappointingly no coffee makers, or even complimentary coffee/tea in the lobby (because they want to force you to purchase it in their concession). The lobby has some cool artwork, but the “bar” is dismal (basically a convenience store with a small bar, ambience-free seating in the lobby). They’ll arrange a cab to the airport for $20–25 more than getting one yourself.…
The hotel was in an amazing location, all the staff were extremely helpful and lovely, the maids were so nice!! Cleaned our room everyday and offered water etc. Can’t wait to visit again and will defo be staying here!
