I wish I could stay at The Roger every visit to NYC! The room was clean with a nice bathroom (small but that's New York) The staff went above and beyond, they checked us in early and they simply overheard me wishing my mom happy birthday and later that day we found a bottle of prosecco with a happy birthday... Great hotel. Walking distance to most places. Free wine 5-6 pm and free coffee and tea in the lobby in the morning. Clean, comfortable rooms. I have stayed there various times and alsways been pleased. One of the best boutique hotels for the value.

I am normally not drawn to smaller boutique hotels, I have stayed here several times and really like the style and atmosphere. Its a 10 minute cab ride from midtown and other areas, 20 - 25 minutes from lower Manhattan The Roger is well maintained and great staff. The front desk was staffed by Kim and a tall man (apologies,... More

We have been staying at the Roger for at least 6 years, since our kids were NYU students, making several trips a year. The service is always excellent, the rooms spacious and spotless. Quiet. The doormen always remember us. Lovely to get in from a late flight and have the restaurant still open and serving! Location is convenient to all... More

Rooms are large, service is great. Front desk staff were very helpful suggesting tours and restaurants. I do not agree with the facility fee. That should be included in the hotel price upfront. Hotel location is very convenient to subway stations

We spent the weekend at the Roger as we combined a wedding weekend with a family gathering. Our schedule involved covering a lot of territory and the staff was extremely helpful in facilitating our moving around. The room was modern, comfortable and spotless and the location was very convenient. We will definitely be back!

Spacious room, friendly staff and great location. Definately good value! Dont forget to order room service as its delicious. Otherwise go to the great restaurant options in the area. Also very close to several shopping areas and other tourist attractions!

I stayed here primarily I got a good deal on the rates, as well as based on the rather overrated reviews (boutique, friendly staff, location, etc). The thing that bothered me the most was that the elevators just too long to catch, either on the way down or up. The only thing going for this is that it is definitely... More

Front desk reception was unpleasant - attendant seemed put out to assist. There was a line of four (4) people waiting to check in with no acknowledgement. Time to check in was unusually long. Elevators are a complete disaster - throughout the weekend - all guests were complaining when they rode the elevators about the extraordinary wait times. Key card... More

We stayed in the hotel this past wk end and the hotel was OK but not great. The room and bathroom were very small and nothing special. Our room range went from 400 per night to 320 per night, far too high for a so so hotel.

Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
This June, The Roger is unveiling a sophisticated new look after extensive renovations of its public spaces and guest rooms. Standing at the crossroads of uptown and downtown off Madison Park, the new Roger is a marriage of chic design and old world comfort, while continuing an unyielding commitment to superior service. The fresh aesthetic of the Roger’s public spaces is curated by hospitality guru Steven Kamali and designed by the notable Anna Busta. A collaboration of renowned talent has distinguished a transitional hotel that caters to the demands of the modern traveler and local tastemakers alike. The vaulted lobby lounge provides an ideal space for any time of day or occasion, from morning business meetings to lunch with family, or catching up over cocktails with friends. To update the spacious guest rooms, the Roger tapped Annette Jaffe of MSM, whose timeless original design has kept travelers returning year after year. Jaffe’s new rooms are characterized by lush custom pieces and applied moldings to naturally compliment the historic building’s unique rooms and inviting terraces. Whether for only a night or a weeks long stay, the Roger is the savvy traveler’s home away from home. ... more   less
