We had to go to New York with my daughter for a special occasion that we were not prepared for so we made the reservation at the very last minute and in a rushing manner to have somewhere to stay in upon arriving to NY. The prices we found on line were very different than the one we paid from... More

I prefer European-style boutique hotels over the large chains and this is one is my favorite in NYC. It is stylish without being over-the-top and the staff is welcoming and friendly (they remember your name!). The food and beverage quality is excellent. Some rooms are quite small, but nicely appointed with everything you need. I have been coming back here... More

It's in a good location. We had a warm welcome on check in. The staff were very nice. The twin room looked well presented. The stay then started to get let down by the details. The air conditioning was VERY loud. It had to be turned off at night or we could not sleep. The soap dispenser in the bathroom... More

This boutique hotel ticked all of my boxes from its friendly welcoming doormen to the stylish waiting area which turns into a very civilised bar area during the week. The room was a great size immaculately furnished and wonderfully quiet. My only complaint would be the absence of a coffee machine which is essential when travelling from the other side... More

I booked The Roger because it is listed on Mr. and Mrs. Smith - a reliable boutique/luxury hotel site. Compared to the other New York listings I have enjoyed (Bowery, Ludlow, NoMad, Crosby Street, Surrey, Gramercy Park), The Roger was a disappointment. The service was poor. It took over 45 minutes to check in. Plus, I requested a quiet room... More

We love the hotel! ALL the staff was so nice and very accomodating! The room was great, and the Rehearsal Party was very nice. We stayed 5 nights and felt very at home. I hope to stay again! Thanks for helping to make our weekend unforgettable!

If you want to explore Manhattan by foot, this is a great place to stay. Lovely hotel and excellent service made my trip perfect. My personal favorite was breakfast - delicious and diverse, just what you need for perfect start of the day.

We had 4 adults staying in our room and you honestly could not swing a cat, the beds were also tiny. There was nowhere to put our suitcases and the bathroom was the size of the cupboard under the stairs that (spoiler alert) Harry Potter used to live in. Only half of the room was lit and we could never... More

Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
This June, The Roger is unveiling a sophisticated new look after extensive renovations of its public spaces and guest rooms. Standing at the crossroads of uptown and downtown off Madison Park, the new Roger is a marriage of chic design and old world comfort, while continuing an unyielding commitment to superior service. The fresh aesthetic of the Roger’s public spaces is curated by hospitality guru Steven Kamali and designed by the notable Anna Busta. A collaboration of renowned talent has distinguished a transitional hotel that caters to the demands of the modern traveler and local tastemakers alike. The vaulted lobby lounge provides an ideal space for any time of day or occasion, from morning business meetings to lunch with family, or catching up over cocktails with friends. To update the spacious guest rooms, the Roger tapped Annette Jaffe of MSM, whose timeless original design has kept travelers returning year after year. Jaffe’s new rooms are characterized by lush custom pieces and applied moldings to naturally compliment the historic building’s unique rooms and inviting terraces. Whether for only a night or a weeks long stay, the Roger is the savvy traveler’s home away from home. ... more   less
