I stay at The Roger every month or so and have come to feel at home there. Check in staff is always a pleasure and the lobby bar, while very small, has great drinks and wonderful service. I've eaten dinner at the bar while chatting with the bartender. Penthouse rooms have terraces with seating. Elevators can be slow, but I...

The staff at The Roger hotel were very accommodating for our entire three day visit to NYC. The hotel has a great location in mid town close to many shops and restaurants. Our hotel room was spacious, comfortable and well decorated. The breakfast buffet is delicious. I highly recommend this hotel for your NY experience.

We had a great stay at this hotel and also the staff were very good. One thing to be aware of is the daily service charge of $31 which some providers do not make clear you have to pay at the end of your stay.

I was not familiar with The Roger and the location wasn't one that I had sought - but enjoyed. The advertised special sale price got us and it was a great value. The hotel is small, quiet and charming. Every member of the staff was gracious and friendly. The room was attractive - and we were excited to find that...

We stay here whenever we visit NYC. Staff is friendly and very responsive to requests. Any small issues were handled promptly. The hotel is far enough from Times Square so you're away from the noise, but not so far that you can't easily walk to the Theater District, Fifth Ave shopping, etc. We will definitely be back!

The Roger is the gem of Murray Hill. Conveniently located at 31st and Madison, it's a pleasant stroll to Grand Central or Penn, right around the corner from the Subway, and just a few blocks to the PATH train. The location is quiet, which means a great night's sleep after a busy day in the city. And the property itself...

I have passed the Roger many times, but had no idea what a hidden gem it was. Rooms are lovely, there is a happy hour in the lobby and there is a lovely breakfast in the Mezzanine. I'd gladly come again!

The air/heating unit is so loud you must turn it off to be able to sleep. Luckily the room temp was ok to sleep without it. Location was fine based on my needs but farther away from times square and other tourist attractions.

Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
This June, The Roger is unveiling a sophisticated new look after extensive renovations of its public spaces and guest rooms. Standing at the crossroads of uptown and downtown off Madison Park, the new Roger is a marriage of chic design and old world comfort, while continuing an unyielding commitment to superior service. The fresh aesthetic of the Roger’s public spaces is curated by hospitality guru Steven Kamali and designed by the notable Anna Busta. A collaboration of renowned talent has distinguished a transitional hotel that caters to the demands of the modern traveler and local tastemakers alike. The vaulted lobby lounge provides an ideal space for any time of day or occasion, from morning business meetings to lunch with family, or catching up over cocktails with friends. To update the spacious guest rooms, the Roger tapped Annette Jaffe of MSM, whose timeless original design has kept travelers returning year after year. Jaffe’s new rooms are characterized by lush custom pieces and applied moldings to naturally compliment the historic building’s unique rooms and inviting terraces. Whether for only a night or a weeks long stay, the Roger is the savvy traveler’s home away from home. ... more   less
