I travelled to NY with my daughter to experience thanksgiving and the Macy Day Parade, I have been previous with my husband to another hotel so first time at The Roger, when we arrived I was disappointed to see the building covered with scaffolding, this was not mentioned by our travel agents that work would have been taking place however, we did not hear anything and it did not interrupt our stay. The staff were very friendly and attentive. The Christmas decorations were beautiful and lovely to sit in the lounge for the complimentary happy hour. Our room was clean and perfect for what we required during our stay, I would say the mini bar was extremely overpriced for example $7 for a small bottle of water. I look forward to returning to The Roger when travel becomes less restrictive giving the current pandemic

Our third visit to The Roger, well located in mid town Manhattan and within walking distance of many great restaurants and coffee bars. The hotel feels intimate and the staff are friendly and welcoming. It was great to be able to help yourself to a coffee first thing or a cup of warm spiced cider on a cold day from the urn in the lobby. In the early evening complimentary wine is served at happy hour, a generous gesture and an opportunity to meet with fellow guests. The bedrooms and ensuite are a good size. My only criticism is the high pricing of the well stocked minibar and consumables tray in each room. I would stay again.

We like to try a different hotel on every visit to NYC this is now my default place to stay in the city. Great room (thanks for the upgrade!) a balcony with a view of the Empire State Building was a big plus, especially at dusk watching the lights flicker on. Location is everything as we all know, this place delivers in midtown Manhattan all is a few blocks walk away, and cabs are right outside at all times of the day & night. You can have a gorgeous lobby, funky artwork, clean well designed rooms, WiFi etc etc but as always it’s the staff who make the difference. At the Roger everyone we encountered were a total joy, I’d give a special mention to Zac (front desk) who’s friendly, professional & approachable manner (and recommendation for the birthday dinner) were outstanding. Many thanks for making a special trip into a memorable one, despite the crazy times we’re all living in I genuinely hope we can make a return visit to the Roger someday soon. Consider this place highly recommended.

Booked through Hotel Tonight. Room Upgrade. Room 604 was spacious enough for one traveler. Shower slow to get warm but when it did it got hot! Decent view of Madison Ave. Gym empty when using it. Great location. Would stay here again.

My second time staying here and will continue to book here for NYC trips. Rooms are a good size for the city. Staff is. Accommodating. Very enjoyable stay with 0 issues. It is an easy walk from Penn station and Flatiron.

We got a really decent price at the Roger via TravelZoo so we gave this hotel a try. It is a nicely decorated hotel. The bed was comfortable. The bathroom and shampoo/condition/lotion were high quality. Unfortunately for us, there was construction right outside our window which was not sound proof. The construction last well into the night (past midnight?). Then, in the morning starting at 6am, the jackhammer began again. The only saving grace is that we didn't spend that much time in the room. Upon checkin, unlike most Hilton and Hyatt I stay at, they don't give you a bottle of water. Instead, they want to charge you $5 for water at the mini-bar. I didn't appreciate that. The hotel also didn't have ice machines. I didn't know this beforehand. I brought the ice bucket to the front desk and asked them where the ice machine is. They told me the Concierge has to get it. Well, I didn't have my wallet on me so I couldn't tip the guy. And boy, the guy gave me a dirty look for not tipping. I was offended and felt bad at the same time.

Room Tip: Ask for a quiet room (or at the back of the hotel). The front was a nightmare of noise.

The tv remote was extremely dirty. I didn't use it because I was working mostly, but it was so dirty that it was noticeable. Also the cleaning crew in the hallway was very VERY loud. i dont mind co-workers talking and singing during this pandemic to keep spirits up, but please be considerate that there might be guests still sleeping. Other than that, the stay was amazing.
