I stayed at the Amsterdam mainly due to its proximity to the Javits Centre. The location to theatre and restaurants is a definite 10/10. The size of the room is small - my room was about 100 sq. ft., and I may be overestimating it with that figure. Walking sideways between the bed and the wall to get into the...

The Amsterdam Court Hotel is located within easy walking distance of many tourist attractions, including Times Square and the Rockefeller Centre. My wife and I had decided to attend three shows, Chicago, Wicked & Mamma Mia and all three theatres were only a short walk from the hotel. We had booked in for six nights in total and found the...

My husband and I stayed at the Amsterdam Court Hotel for three nights. It was our first time in NYC and we did want want to break the bank on a hotel room. This was perfect. The room was very small but it was what we expected after reading the reviews. It was fine for the two of us but...

Was very disappointed upon arrival, dingy, small, a little smelly. Room had not been upgraded in a while, pink bathroom tiles with dirty grout. Determined to make the best of it, I took a shower and couldn't get the door open!! The bathroom fan was not working and the steam from the shower had swelled the door causing it to...

It is really conveniently located hotel, location is awesome. Just ask for the room at higher floor, first night we stayed on ground floor and that's terrible, but they immediately offered another room. Room was nice and clean, I really recommend, One recommendation, take with you ear plugs, the air conditioning and the noise from outside might be hard to...

My husband and I stayed in the Amsterdam Court Hotel for 3 nights in our short stay in NYC. Upon arrival we were quickly checked into our hotel. My husband noticed that the room we were staying in didn't have a lock on the window, so he called the front desk and asked if they could come fix it. The...

When we visit NYC, we always stay at the Amsterdam Court! The hotel reminds me of the typical European hotel. The rooms are not very big but well-appointed and comfortable. The hotel offers a continental breakfast. It is in an excellent location, within walking distance of the theater district and numerous great restaurants. The staff is friendly and met all...

Actually still staying here for one more night. Arrived this morning to an empty lobby, no porter or front desk agent. Looked for someone and then found a bell to ring. She arrived with no name badge and I checked in. I was told there was no room available yet, but beings hotelier myself I understood. One became available and...

My wife and I had wanted to visit New York to take in the sights and see a Broadway show for years. This August we did just that and had a great vacation. We stayed at the Amsterdam Court Hotel on 50th Street. For the price we paid we can find nothing to complain about. Ok, the building is old,...

Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
