Myself, my son and his fiancee stayed here for five nights. The hotel is a bit tired and is due for a revamp, but I do hope the new owners keep it's present charm. The staff were lovely, front desk were so helpful, especially George who looked after our luggage and entertained us after checkout as we waited for our...

I was taken in by the good reviews, convenient location and decent price. But the hotel really is getting down at the heels. Mousetrap in my room (I guess better than mice) and obvious water damage on the wall and ceiling. Plus, the website is out of date (or just lying) - parking is not $20 or $30 (it said...

Our room was not the cleanest, but we had a terrace for ourselves. The cable for our TV was not working well, so we were moved to a much smaller room, with a better view. However, this room was full of mold, the toilet did not work, the door to the balcony was not closing fully and quite a few...

Had a very good impression when I first arrived. There was a very strong smell of what seems to be old perfume or body spray, in the bed when I settled for the night. To my dismay, I immediately noticed that the bed sheets and pillow cases were dirty and wrinkled . There were also hair on the sheets. It...

Unfortunately, New York is horrendously expensive. This hotel is completely acceptable for a reasonable price. It is clean, well located unless you will spend all of your time above Time Square, and quiet. Some rooms have a view of the East River. The Seaport area is being redeveloped and there are a number of bars and restaurants just outside the...

For my first visit to New York City, on the way overseas, I wanted to get as much view and location as I could. I went alone, so I was also interested in a place where I felt safe. The staff was excellent. They were cheerful and helpful when I had a disaster with my laptop and helped me get...

Stayed for 1 night on a business trip. The room was clean and its size was actually quite good for New York, compared to other hotels I stayed at in lower Manhattan. My room had no view. Check-in took some time as I had a voucher, but staff was professional and friendly. Breakfast was somewhat lacking, however. I do like...

Fine place, nicely sized rooms, many with excellent views out over the East River, the South Street Seaport, and the Brooklyn Bridge. Rooms on the top two floors have large outdoor terraces, with excellent views. Rooms also have small (and empty) refrigerators, for storing your own items. The morning breakfast, included in room rate, is fine, and a number of...

It was my first time in NYC amd the main reasons I booked this hotel were 1.Dog friendly and 2. Location. The hotel is dog friendly! *Please keep this in mind if you don't like dogs* There's not really a green space or anywhere for the dogs to potty just a few trees around the hotel that do the trick....

The hotel was clean and pest-free. The staff were helpful and accommodating. The location is great--lost of restaurants and access to buses and the subway. I have stayed there for many years and it has always been a "home away from home."Recommend it.

“Ask for terrace room with direct view of the Brooklyn bridge, just not it is a small room.”
  • Just a small taste, the two vents were full of mold (picture too small to add)
  • The board was sitting on the outside, not allowing for the terrace doors to shut well.
