I booked the Dream Hotel due to water outage in my building (I live in NYC). The front desk ladies were super sweet and let me check in early when I told them my situation (I just wanted to shower). Upon getting off the elevator, I was a little shocked how narrow and claustrophobic the hallways were. I travel on business all the time and have stayed at plenty of boutique hotels, but the halls at The Dream – Midtown just threw me off. I entered my room and it was SMALL, I can’t imagine being in that room with another person. My master-bedroom at home was bigger than this room. I was only there because it was an emergency, but I have stayed at Holiday Inn rooms that were bigger. The bathroom was a good size, but a later found out that was because it was a wheel-chair accessible room (there was NO WAY a wheel chair person could maneuver in this room NOT POSSIBLE). When I turned on the shower, it completed covered with water in less than two minutes. I called the front desk to switch rooms and they warned me if I did change rooms, it would be smaller than what I have. WHAT? Smaller?!?!? I quickly told them never mind and please send me lots of towels so I could mop up this floor. I just had to tough it out for 3 days. Again, it was an emergency. The carpet was very suspect (doubt it was clean) and the window facing the back of the building was BEYOND FILTHY! Again, suck it up for 3 days. The bed was clean and comfy. There was a desk for me to work at and the wi-fi was free. I was worried because there was a night club upstairs, and I worried I would hear it, but I never heard it. I did hear constant people in the halls and every morning housekeeping woke me up with their carts and vacuuming (halls are way to tiny not to hear). There was a fridge in the room, but it barely got cold and all the groceries I bought was a waste. I thought my three days would be like a staycation and all I kept thinking about was going home to my own condo. Dream Hotel was a total waste of money. Upon check out I learned that NYC charges a “Resort Tax”. WHAT?!?! I already paid for the room and why do I have to pay another $65?!?! Turns out, I read the fine print of my receipt from the travel website where I booked the room and yep, sure enough, it stated there would be a $20 a day resort tax. SMH. I live in NYC so staying at a hotel is not something I do and now I know better. Ridiculous.

After reviewing what felt like all the accommodation options in Manhattan, we finally settled on Dream Midtown. It's in the perfect location close to the subway, right in Broadway, close to Times Square but still away from the plethora of tourist traps that are there. The lobby was modern, the room was smaller & cozy as are all affordable rooms in the area but was still very enjoyable for an 8 night stay. If you don't have time to research for a week straight on where to stay, just go with this hotel and thank me later!

It was my first time visiting New York and this hotel provides a great location to be able to get to all the tourists sights you'd like to see. Great location, very close to central park and easy to walk to lots of other sights. Rooms are quite small but very clean. It wasn't too loud in the night.Terrace on the roof is amazing! Lobby is comfortable and there is a nice bar too. Staff are very friendly.

We visited New York for the 5th time over Christmas 2019 and stayed at Dream Midtown for the first time. I chose the hotel due to its location and having stayed a few months prior at Dream Hollywood and also Dream Phuket the year before I am a fan of the chain, they seem to be popping up everywhere at the moment. Dream hotels are perfect for couples in my opinion, always trendy, with great food and beverage options. Dream Midtown did not disappoint. The staff were so friendly and polite and actually happy, which is unusual for New York in my opinion! This again is common through all Dream Hotels I’ve stayed at before in other parts of the world, the staff really are a credit to the chain. The rooms are an ok size by New York standards, however there was no bath tub which was disappointing especially seeing as I had emailed ahead requesting one. The bed was comfortable and room service was provided by the on site Serafina restaurant. Delicious. Location was the reason we chose this hotel in essence, and it does serve well for exploring the city. A few blocks from Central Park which is walkable in around 5 minutes. Times Square is again about 5 minutes in the opposite direction. There is a Starbucks on the end of the street for morning coffee. There is a gorgeous roof terrace bar called PHD Terrace which has great views, but is only open certain nights, so be sure to check before visiting. All in all a solid choice and I would stay here again. This hotel was definitely less noisy than others we have stayed at in Midtown, definitely an advantage after a long day of exploring when you just want a good nights sleep.

This place is always reliable. The rooms are nice, the staff very friendly, great amenities, and fantastic location. If you like an intimate bar - the kind you can go into and come out a week later- theirs is fantastic.
