Terrible experience and now I will stay away from this scammy hotel and management, showed no proof that and refused to resolve anything, was promised that the manager will get in touch with me but never did... also charged me another time but I disputed it and oh well guess what, they charged me by a mistake, and then they also charged me for dirty sheets... aren't you supposed to wash them first? and anyway it wasn't dirty, I didn't even stay in the hotel for long. Now as a traveler I have to take a video every time I leave a hotel. I've seen not one review about this hotel by charging a smoking fee, so if you stay here just record a video, they will not provide proofs or try to resolve it, they don't care as long as they make money. I DO NOT SMOKE but IM BEING CHARGED FOR SMOKING... ridiculous. no proofs :D…
«+» Pretty looking, remodeled clean hotel. Nice and friendly hotel staff. Big and fast elevators. Good looking clean room with gorgeous downtown views as I requested before arrival. A panoramic window. Super comfortable King Bed. Big bathroom with a wide shower stall. Strong water pressure. Nice bathroom amenities. Fast Wi-Fi. Pet friendly (but with fee). «-» Tricky hotel location (definitely not my favorite area of Manhattan). Interesting and nice lobby design, but very basic room design. Also my room was kind of tiny, I expected more space there. Not really a soundproof room, I could clearly hear my neighbors in the room next door. Water temperature in bathroom was not really hot. I find the value of the night in this hotel ($138 with all taxes) a little bit overpriced.
Nice and perfectly situated hotel. It‘s right around the corner of a lot of restaurants and subway station. Check-in is not in the ground floor, but you just had to follow the sign. The room is surprisingly quiet, which is not standard for NYC and we appreciated that a lot! But it‘s quite small, but that‘s usually like that. The rooftop is quite nice and we had a couple of drinks up there.
Booked a Grand Deluxe King for Valentine's Day. The website lists these rooms as having skyline views and floor to ceiling windows. Upon checkin, we were given a room facing east on the 9th floor. Our view was directly into a pit that overlooked the back of some walk up apartment buildings and the terraces of the hotel. When I called the reception to ask if we were in the right category room, I was assured I was and that the floor to ceiling windows are only available in corner rooms (this is not listed on the website). One of the lights in our room wasn't working and the floors looked like they had not even been swept (dust and hair everywhere) and the walls were all scuffed and stained. After calling again and visiting the reception, a manager was able to "find" a room in the "same category" on the 20th floor leaving us to kill another hour before we could check into our room. Our view here was significantly better but the room was slightly smaller than the first. The bathrooms are nice but I did notice they weren't in pristine condition and in need of a deep clean. The service was lacking as it took much complaining to be taken seriously and I wasn't the only one at the front desk complaining about these issues. Honestly, take your money somewhere else. The hotel relies too heavily on its name to deliver exceptional experiences. I was disappointed as someone who lives in the city and frequents the hotel bar, Mr. Purple, pretty often. I thought my hotel stay was going to be as good as all my other experiences there.…
I look forward to returning. Excellent service every time. Bright, cozy rooms. Cool lobbie, great neighbourhood for wandering around. Coffee shop right across the street. Any time there's been an unexpected / not preventable issue, like missing soap in room, management notes it and works 3x to correct it. You can't even be upset because you see them work so hard to make your stay perfect. The bar is busy at night -- that's not for me, but that's ok. Will enjoy the wine in my room instead.
