All around positive experience. Clean Room and Helpful Staff. I was coming off a negative experience at The Paul NYC and was happy that I found the Cambria. The Cambria is a Luxury hotel, from the staff, decor, and cleanliness all being 5 star. Thanks!
My friend and I stayed there for three nights. We selected the hotel based on the price and the previous reviews. The front desk staff was super nice and very accommodating. I called a few days before my stay to request a high floor room. I was given a high floor room and we had a view of the front of the hotel. The only thing was that the room was a connecting room and as other reviewers have said, you can hear EVERYTHING the people in the other room say and do. We did smell weed on the elevator several times and there were people smoking it outside the hotel as well. Our room was a little weathered to say. The sheer curtains at the window were tattered and torn. They definitely need to be replaced. The sink in the bathroom is super tiny. I have never seen a sink that small in a hotel room before. The floor was really weird feeling too. It looked like hardwood floor laminate, but it was very lumpy and slippery. The TV table in the room had a lot of rust on it. The ottoman had some items in it from a previous guest. It made me question the cleaning practices a little. The bed was very large and comfortable. The refrigerator and microwave were nice amenities for heating up leftovers. I will definitely stay there again. Hopefully they will make some improvements on that room. …
The rooms are great, location is ideal. However, the entire place smelled like weed my whole stay. I didn’t mind smelling it in the elevator, but after midnight my room began to smell so strongly of marijuana that I could have sworn someone was sitting in my room and smoking. The following morning, we had to walk through a group of people and a huge cloud of smoke just to get back into the building after a workout. While none of these things are the fault of the hotel, when I brought it up to the front desk upon check out (I wasn’t able to sleep because my room smelled so bad), she offered me FREE SNACKS. So, I’m not sure if this is the case here every weekend, but it’s definitely not ideal if you’re looking for a low key place for a peaceful girl’s weekend
This Hotel so far is one of my best stays thus far. The location is great. The hotel is secure and clean. What stood out most to me was the genuine front desk employee named Ecram. She immediately welcomed us upon arrival and was very informative of great places to eat and fun things to do in the area. Her attitude towards myself and family was positive and illustrated great company ethics. This hotel gets a big thumbs up for me. I am very likely to revisit in the future and I highly Recommend others to stay here. It is located in the flower district of W 28th street. It’s location has great restaurants nearby and local gift shops and more to browse from.
I have stayed in many NYC hotels over the past thirty years, but this one was the best: huge room, huge shower, huge TV, king bed, refrigerator and microwave. I was on the 13th floor with floor- to- ceiling windows facing the street. They had a special rate for this room which normally would have cost hundreds of dollars more. It is in the flower district, so the sidewalks are narrowed by pots of greenery for sale... giving off a pleasant aroma as you walk down the street. All the the staff were pleasant morning, afternoon, and evening, and I was comfortable with their security measures. The restaurant and rooftop bar were closed in compliance with covid directives. I hope to avail myself of these on a future stay.
