We stayed in the 1 bedroom 2nd floor apartment overlooking the street for a week in mid September and must say, it was one of the best places we have stayed in for a long time. Plenty of room, a kitchen for morning basics, and only a 30min walk into Times Square, where we had friends staying. Transport was easy... More

What more can I say, but we wouldn't stay anywhere else! We stayed in May for my friend's birthday and booked the 1-bedroom apartment upstairs. It was spotless and had everything we wanted. A home away from home. Karen and Paul were amazing hosts and they made you felt totally at home. The location is amazing, amazing restaurants only 5... More

This place has all bases covered! Location - located in a charming neighborhood of brown stones, just a short stroll to the high line, Chelsea Markets and the Flat Iron district. Surrounded by great restaurants and cafes. Facilities - the apartment is super cozy (with plenty of room) and has absolutely everything you need. The garden is delightful. Service -... More

My daughter and I just returned from our trip to NYC and we stayed at A Garden In Chelsea B & B. Karen and Paul were wonderful and we felt like we were home. It was so quiet it was hard to believe we were in NYC. The Room was great, full kitchen, good beds and the most important it... More

We stayed in this wonderful apartment July 2014 for one week with our two teens ages 13 and 15. Wonderful neighbourhood only 3 blocks from subway. We felt very safe in this neighbourhood and very safe and secure in this gorgeous brown stone apartment. With only a few blocks to the Chelsea High Line and Chelsea Markets you couldn't wish... First time in New York, but we felt like at home! The apartment is comfortable and quiet! With a good sized bedroom and bathroom and large living area all beautifully furnished, it's a place you're happy to spend time and relax in. The garden is fabolous! Karen and Paul are charming, and we highly reccomend it.

"A Garden in Chelsea" is like a home away from home, quiet and comfortable, with a lovely garden just outside the door. With the small kitchenette, it made my stay so much more convenient and relaxed. The spaciousness of the room allowed for visiting with friends with ample seating and room to move. Karen and Paul were warm and attentive.... More

I stayed here with an old school friend. She flew in from Scotland and I came from Australia. I had researched where we should stay endlessly on tripadvisor and came up with this. We had both stayed in hotels in NYC and wanted to experience something different. How lucky were we to find this. It was perfect for us. Bigger... More

We have stayed at A Garden in Chelsea 3 or 4 times, and each time it has been perfect. Unlike a hotel, A Garden in Chelsea gives you the sense that you are actually living in New York. The location is excellent with on street parking available over the week-end. It is close to the Chelsea galleries, excellent restaurants, interesting... More

A Garden in Chelsea was the perfect cozy spot for us to unwind and just enjoy a great neighborhood in Manhattan - close to friends, relatively light traffic, good restaurants and even street parking in a snowstorm. The elegant bath is worth the price of admission. Karen and Paul were great. We'll be back when we can enjoy the garden!

Neighborhood Profile
Chelsea
Home to hundreds of art galleries, beautiful brownstones, and one of New York’s newest and most popular attractions, Chelsea is one of the city’s jewels when it comes to neighborhood life. The contemporary art scene is an integral part of the neighborhood’s identity, with gallery openings almost every night of the week and countless exhibits to explore. As a longtime hub of gay culture in New York City, it’s also a diverse district with a vibrant nightlife scene. The opening of the High Line, an abandoned elevated train track transformed into a world-class pedestrian park, gave this neighborhood new life as a tourist destination. The High Line provides visitors with a tranquil, elevated space with incomparable views, providing an unparalleled way to experience the city.
