After a couple of days in the centre of NYC Time Square at a conference we were relieved to be in this lovely well equipped comfortable space away from the hustle and bustle of the city. A garden in chelsea turned out to be just what we were looking for set in a delightful area close to many amenities. The... More

We had the pleasure of staying in the courtyard apartment, it was home away from home for us and a welcome break after a very busy 4 weeks touring in Europe. The apartment is extremely well equipped and comfortable, we enjoyed being able to prepare our own breakfasts before heading out sightseeing each day & even ate in on a... More

This is an excellent location from which to explore NYC,and this factor alone can influence the overall quality of your visit. Two couples, our friends took the basement, and we took the 2nd floor one bedder which is extremely functional for what you need to be out and about mostly but a retreat when downtime and sleeping is required. The... More

We are a family of 4, mum dad and 2 daughter's aged 18 and 19 and we stayed in the one bedroom apartment for four nights at the end of June. The apartment is on the 2nd floor but the stairs aren't steep and Paul carries your luggage up for you! The apartment is a home from home, spacious, clean... More

We had the basement rooms , my son and girlfriend had the upper level with separate bedroom. On reflection I think they got a slightly better deal! Our flat was roomy( except the kitchenette area, where we transitioned over to the dining table as an extra worktop ) The bathroom is great with ample counter space some complimentary extras and... We stayed here last month and thoroughly enjoyed our visit. The basement lodging is roomy and quiet - two attributes in short supply in the Big Apple. The backyard garden looked inviting, but it was too cool to enjoy it while we were there. The owners are knowledgeable about the city and most helpful; they arranged our transport back to... More

... a lovely room, an ample and well-designed bathroom, and a garden attached. We had a wonderful time here. Though the May weather wasn't as good as it should have been, we loved every day and loved coming back 'home' in the evening. It's really a "B&_" as they don't do breakfast but there's a small kitchen for DIY --... More

We stayed here during a one week stay in NY. Our hosts, Karen and Paul went the extra mile to help us with all our requirements. Their restaurant recommendations in the locality (and there are lots of great restaurants) and knowledge of NY was rally helpful and freely given. The room was spacious and the small kitchen was well set... More

Well appointed studio apartment in the basement of a family home. Full of natural light with garden access in warm weather. Spa bathroom with a great step-in shower was extra special. Includes a well appointed small kitchen with all you would need for longer stays when you're ready for a home cooked meal. Host and Hostess are helpful and professional... More

We stayed at a Garden in Chelsea for 23 nights in total, 19 in the garden studio and 4 in the upstairs apartment. It was our first trip to New York but we are experienced travellers and have stayed in apartments all around the world. Overall our stay at a Garden in Chelsea was satisfactory and there is a lot... First, we’d like to thank our guests for writing such a thorough review of their extended stay with us. We appreciate all of the positive things they had to say, and regret those elements that fell short of expectations. We’d like to address some of the issues they raised. 1. The courtyard/garden is never shared with other guests, if only... More

Staying in Chelsea

Neighborhood Profile
Chelsea
Home to hundreds of art galleries, beautiful brownstones, and one of New York’s newest and most popular attractions, Chelsea is one of the city’s jewels when it comes to neighborhood life. The contemporary art scene is an integral part of the neighborhood’s identity, with gallery openings almost every night of the week and countless exhibits to explore. As a longtime hub of gay culture in New York City, it’s also a diverse district with a vibrant nightlife scene. The opening of the High Line, an abandoned elevated train track transformed into a world-class pedestrian park, gave this neighborhood new life as a tourist destination. The High Line provides visitors with a tranquil, elevated space with incomparable views, providing an unparalleled way to experience the city.
