My daughter and I had afternoon tea at the hotel. We were expecting the environment to be lovely and the tea service to be impeccable. Even though we had high expectations, the wait staff truly made the experience one to remember. Everyone was attentive and kind and went out of their way to make sure that my daughter had a lovely birthday tea. Our primary server, Shalim Khan , checked on us frequently and made sure that we had everything we needed or wanted. He even provided postcards and a special treat for my daughter. The food was delicious, and the tea was very high-quality, but as I told my daughter, You are paying for the total experience, the tea more than delivered!

My husband and I stayed at the Plaza in early January. We requested a room on a high level, upon arrival we were upgraded to a deluxe king (corner room with beautiful windows) on the 18th floor. We cannot fault the room, it was luxurious and large. The bath and shower were great. We even received champagne & chocolates for my birthday.
The service was exceptional; including the service at the spa which we received another complimentary bottle of champagne!
We had high tea in the Palm Court which was nice. We did expect a larger selection at the breakfast buffet. The Location is good, we recommend strolling through central park at sunset.
The Plaza staff truely made our experience special and memorable. We highly recommend splurging on the plaza, it is an experience you will never forget!

We loved our stay at The Plaza. It’s a classic property, clean and updated. The rooms are quiet and comfortable, with great bedding, lots of closet and drawer space, an abundance of hangers, and a wet bar including a microwave and refrigerator. There’s no coffee/hot water maker but you can request one. I do wish there were electrical outlets on both sides of the bed. The spacious bathroom has plenty of counter space, and an (unlighted) makeup mirror. The lighting could be better. Appreciated the two robe hooks, an often-overlooked amenity. The shower includes a handheld as well as an overhead rain showerhead, but the handheld cradle is not as useful as an upright hands-free holder would be. Service is top-notch. The concierge was very helpful. The restaurant has a lovely atmosphere and good food, though it is expensive and breakfast hours are quite limited, with the last seating at 9:45. However, Sarabeth’s just down the street is convenient and very good for breakfast. Unfortunately, the Food Hall downstairs is permanently closed.

Had an absolutely amazing time staying at the plaza. The staff are so friendly, everyone we spoke to was great. The hotel itself is just beautiful, I felt like I was in the great gatsby. The champagne bar is lovely too. The hotel even smells amazing. I’m not sure how they get it smelling so nice because it’s not like an air freshener feel it’s like it naturally smells that good. We just had a double room not even a deluxe and it was beautiful, massive comfortable bed and the bathroom was big too! The shower was great too. Get new bottles of water every day and can request any toiletries needed on the iPad in the room. I was a little worried after reading a few negative reviews saying the plaza was outdated but I honestly didn’t feel that at all!! We would find it really strange to come back to New York and not stay in the plaza! Will need to save up again.

My husband and I spent 2 nights at The Plaza in late January. The hotel exceeded our expectations in every way. Service was superb and discrete. Guest room was beautiful, bathroom was exquisite - best shower pressure we have ever had in NYC, fitness facility up to date with high quality equipment, loved the iPad that controls room temp and lights - works fast and heat was virtually noiseless. Lobby smells amazing. Just a perfect get away!

Booked 5 rooms for Christmas for eleven of our family. A total let down ! We spent 26,000 dollars and all we needed to do was stay in a five star hotel nearby who know what there doing and just go to the plaza just like the hundred or so people who go there every day Who are not staying there and photograph themselves. What went wrong 1. Charged 50 dollars per room per night for spending In hotel , never told of this charge beforehand. We actually spent much more but what an insult 2. Left all our bags with porter who left them unattended buy lift 3. Over charged on bill 4. Blocked credit card then tried to bill again 5. Delivered a cooked breakfast to one of our rooms while we were out and came back at end of day to a stinking room, after we enquire were told yes sorry we did loose a breakfast 6. Two tiny lifts serve what’s left of a once prestigeous land mark 7. Booked Christmas 7 months before and asked about lunch to be told no problem sort your requests nearer the time and then to be offered Christmas dinner at 10am !!!! What a joke Please do yourself a favour and don’t go there

To simply say the Plaza is an incredible property is an understatement. In a city where hotel rooms are known to be tiny The Plaza goes against the usual. The overall atmosphere is casual elegance. It’s not stuffy at all and the location gives you easy access to wonderful restaurants, shopping and of course Central Park.

Wow! I booked a long weekend over Valentine’s to celebrate/commiserate my 50th birthday. Having first visited the Oak Bar at The Plaza 25 years ago and after always dropping in for a drink every few years when I visited New York, an actual stay at this beautiful, iconic hotel was the perfect way to celebrate an iconic birthday. I was slightly worried that it wouldn’t live up to my expectations but boy, it certainly did! Having told the hotel in advance of my birthday, I was greeted with a ‘Happy Birthday’ upon check in and with complimentary fizz and the most beautiful mini birthday cake/treat on arrival in our room. We were upgraded due to a British Airways winter deal and the room was beautiful and very spacious. I asked for a high floor and we were situated on the 13th with 2 city views. Everything was immaculate and the large bed was one of the comfiest I have ever slept in. The bathroom was total luxury with complimentary Guerlain toiletries. The power shower felt like a pressure washer as the jet was so strong but it made showering super quick! The one thing I noticed about The Plaza opposed to other luxury hotels was that I never saw the housekeeping. The room was totally looked after but there were no cleaning carts in the hallways and everything was done so discreetly. The resort fee that you pay per night is quite steep (around $60 a night I think) but we made sure we spent that amount on cocktails in the champagne bar and the Palm Court every evening. The staff were friendly at all times and I cannot think of one single complaint I have about the whole stay. Thank you to The Plaza for making my birthday stay so memorable and special.

We were greeted with smiles and had a fantastic stay throughout. The Plaza team kindly offered us a free upgrade as it was my fiancé’s 30th birthday. They also kindly gave us a welcome bottle of champagne and a dessert to celebrate the special occasion. The room was exceptional with plenty of amenities (hairdryer, fresh bottled water every day, Guerlain toiletries, etc). The bed was very comfortable, a perfect balance between firm and soft, plenty of pillows. Room heating was working well. The bathroom was spacious and had a stand-alone shower, separate bathtub and two sinks. Room service was amazing, fast and food/drink was still hot on arrival. Would recommend the buffalo wings for a late night snack!
The only thing I would say is that when we left the hotel for the airport, the doorman kindly got us a taxi and we said we were find carrying our suitcases down. When we sat in the taxi, he stared at us and shook his head as if in disgust that we didn’t let him carry out suitcases. Evidently he was annoyed that he couldn’t get a chance for another tip.
Despite that, it was a wonderful stay and would recommend The Plaza to anyone. Thank you for a memorable holiday! We can’t wait to visit again.

Myself and my husband stayed in New York for 5 nights for his 40th birthday. We are so happy we chose the plaza, the location is perfect and the hotel is stunning! Check in was quick and easy, our room was ready before the check in time which was good, the room was spacious and spotless, the bathroom was lovely with the deepest bath ever. The king size bed was the best bed I’ve ever slept in, it was so comfortable and the pillows were amazing! We slept so well every night. There was a $60 a night resort fee which we weren’t aware of when we booked through Virgin, you can spend $50 a day ok dining in the hotel so it’s not all bad as we got to taste a bit of food at the hotel which was delicious. The staff were all so friendly and attentive and was nice to see them enjoying their jobs smiling and having some fun. If we ever returned to New York this is the only place to stay, we loved it!

The lobby is open but it’s small and only has a bar (with good food as it happens) Most of the Plaza was converted to residences some years ago. There are shops around the side, that’s the best entrance. So there’s not much to see to be honest 😂 the best picture is outside on the steps and the doormen are all legends and will gladly help you !!
