The location is pretty good, with a subway line not far away at Columbus Circle and Central Park is a very short walk. Julliard and Lincoln Center are very close, (Lincoln is just across the street). The view from the room was up Broadway and Columbus and from the higher floors quite nice. The bathroom was incredibly small. The showers...

The staff here are helpful and housekeeping is good thanks again to the staff BUT this hotel is really expensive even by Manhattan terms ($380!/night) and the rooms are tired and need of basic repainting. Linens are basic. Room sizes are unusually small (you cannot extend your arms in the bathrooms without touching either walls as the bathrooms are SO...

Great location. The empire hotel has a very "new york" atmosphere. a Bar with a view and a fantastic pool on the roof top during the summer. The area, next to the Metropolitan Opera is unique. Plenty of fancy and good restaurant nearby.

Small bathrooms! Otherwise overall good or better rating for an older hotel. Staff is very helpful & great! Centrally located to attractions. Not top on my list but acceptable for us. Felt safe in that area which is important to me.
