Evoking the feeling, spirit, and spontaneity of the world's most storied metropolis, The Marmara Park Avenue is New York City, inside and out. Occupying a richly historied 21-story building that dates back to 1927, The Marmara Park Avenue is an up-and-coming landmark defined by a subtle elegance that uplifts the ordinary. Pairing impeccable style with unmitigated comfort, The Marmara Park Avenue honors New York City's history while constantly evolving the very meaning of hospitality. The Marmara Park Avenue is your home in Manhattan, made in New York. The nuances that define us are influenced by, designed in, and sourced from the city itself. Just as you are inspired by New York City, so are we. The Marmara is proud to work with local artisans and craftspeople who have fabricated some of our building's most eye-catching elements right here in New York City. Being at home in New York City means having a place you can call your own. Tranquil, tailored, and polished, The Marmara Park Avenue provides you a refuge from the noise, pace, and pressures of the city that never sleeps. Openness and understated glamour are part of the building's DNA, harkening back to the days when it housed design and architecture studios. Each of the 128 suites and guest rooms, including three penthouses, boast vast, spacious ceilings that capitalize on the location's natural light, providing uninterrupted and unparalleled views of the New York skyline. Inside, the rooms feature massive guest beds topped with mountains of pillows, wetbars/fully-equipped kitchens, stainless steel appliances, and hardwood floors. And you don't even have to leave the hotel to step into the city: 40 suites come equipped with private terraces.

We arrived, tired from St Louis, late afternoon and were keen to be out and about as we only had 3 nights here. Bad start - as a swimmer, I’d chosen this hotel as it has a nice basement pool, just room for 3 people to do laps. , so naturally I want to know when the spa and pool opened. The girl at reception first of all had us sign a list of monetary penalties we’d incur for stealing items from our room ; breakages ; smoking in the room and more !! Welcome to the Marmara ! She confirmed that the pool opened at 9am,so in the morning, I woke early, but hung around waiting for 9am only to discover, when going to the pool, that it actually opened at 7am !! Am expensive midtown hotel, and our basic room was small, and with a bathroom without anywhere to put all our toiletries,so naturally these and other items had to be placed on top of the drawer unit and fridge provided. Unfortunately, despite the limited room size, the huge bed impeded movement,so that my wife and I were constantly trying to avoid bumping into the very sharp corner of the bed base without success. Finally coming back on our final night at 9.30pm I bumped again but this time, the sharpness of the corner made a severe gash on my leg. Luckily we had ice in our room, and with that wrapped in towelling,it stemmed the blood flow only after a half hour or so. In the morning we reported this to 2 receptionists who told us their admin boss was on her way back to NYC and would like to speak to us. Not possible,as we were returning to UK,the Spain shortly, but my wife had taken 3 rather gruesome photographs, which one of the staff couldn’t look at. We did email the management lady, including these photos, and a rather pointless weak reply arrived a few hours later. No further correspondence resulted after I made it clear that waiting to hear her apologising would have been a complete waste of our time anyway. We all understand that ‘sorry’ is the most abused word in the English language unless accompanied with some form of compensation, which to date, has not happened. All in all a disappointing experience in a hotel which looks better online than what you get in facilities and service. I still have these photographs for anyone interested.

The Marmara Park Hotel After charging through Internet, charges additional compulsory 29usd plus taxes when you leave (even if spa isnt used). Im considering to start a legal action soon. Beware of this. Many customers argue about it online. Maintainance is horrible condition and reception awful mood. Better pay same USD for hotels nearby. I go to NY often and strongly recommend to avoid Marmara. Pics are just a small example.

our time in the marmara park hotel was beyond terrible. We checked for 7 nights and felt robbed The first night we were send to a handicapped room but did not ask for it when booked one month ago. The only thing that separate the shower from the rest of the bathroom was a lame courtain. Everything got wet, I almost fell. The windows double curtain let all the sun come in. We woke up a five am because of the light. We complain about this with Yolanda Garcia( manager) but she told us that all rooms where the same, without bathtub and so. Of course It was a lie! We slept upset and the next day, after a terrible second discussion with her (where she yeld at me telling me to back off that she was older that me and that I should shut up), we were sent to the room , imposible to sleep because of the AC compressor noise inside the room. After this , Yolanda sent an apologize letter with two pieces of fruit ( yes, that’s what we needed) after making our second day a nightmare. She sent a engineer, the guy told us that was imposible to fix. The third night we were sent to a different room ( third time I did the luggage in 3 days). We founf filth inside the blankets. We wanted to leave and the told us it’s imposible because it was payed in advance. When we did the check out they wanted us to pay a resort fee. First time I have to pay in a 5 star an extra for the pool and “gym” of course we argued and they took it back. Another scam. This was supposed to be our happy vacation. They know nothing about customer service. We even tried to reach the director and of course she didn’t answer
