I've stayed at this hotel many times - I probably know the rooms better than some of their own staff. Do some rooms have minor quirks? Yes. But overall, this is a well maintained, and very comfortable hotel that is kept immaculately clean. Even the smallest of the rooms in this hotel are significantly more spacious than many typical comparable hotels in Manhattan. The front desk people are great, and treat me like a member of the family when I check in.

I chose to stay at the Marmara. The location was perfect for me because it’s a block away from the office I was doing business at. I walked in to the beautiful lobby and was met by Omar who told me there was a room available. He was smiling, wonderfully friendly, and polite… So were the rest of the staff I saw working there. They all were happy and cheerful, and to me, that says a lot about a hotel. When I saw my room I was very impressed… Omar gave me a huge suite, with a fantastic view of Manhattan from my own walk out balcony! There was a full kitchen in another area, with all the amenities you’d want in a Park Avenue apartment! The room had a cappuccino maker, a refrigerator, a stove, a microwave, a sparkly sink etc… I felt like a had a beautiful home in the heart of the city! The location is perfect, too! Walking distance to The Empire State Building, Macy’s, Central Park, Broadway… I loved it! I decided to stay another night. The day after that, I rebooked my room with Herdi who, is very friendly and polite. We talked about music with Omar, and the two of them gave me excellent directions to every place I asked them about. Very helpful…. So knowledgeable about the neighborhood… Over the next couple of days I always saw smiling faces and very courteous, helpful staff members. Even the guests were smiling there. On Wednesdays, they feature beautiful live music in the evening. The Marmara is the place to be, and the place for me if I’m in NYC

My husband and I stayed here with our teenage daughters and it was just perfect! We had a 2 bedroomed penthouse apartment which provided plenty of space and privacy. The kitchen is well equipped with everything you could need including a dishwasher, washing machine and dryer plus essentials like coffee and tea. The lounge area provides a great place to plan your day together or chill after a long day sightseeing.

The master bedroom and ensuite were generously sized with super comfy bed and toiletries are supplied. Our bathroom included a jacuzzi bath which was great after a long day of walking!

The second bedroom and bathroom are smaller but still big enough for 2 and equally well equipped.

Plus there is free wifi - if you have teenagers you’ll know how important this is!

The pool and gym were an added bonus and the kids enjoyed their early evening swim whilst we enjoyed the friendly bar situated just off the lobby! I’m afraid I can’t remember the barman’s name but I know he was from Turkey originally and really looked after us - so thank you!

In fact all the staff at the hotel were friendly and helpful but a very special mention to Kajsa who prior to our visit went above and beyond to offer advice around Covid rules, sightseeing help and ideas of what to visit. Kajsa also organised a transfer from the airport for us so we could surprise the girls and arrange in style! She was super informative and so helpful. We really appreciated all her help so thank you!

I should also say the view from the room was incredible! Sadly the roof bar wasn’t open whilst we were there but it looks great so yet another added bonus for a fabulous hotel.

We found the location of the hotel great and walked to many sightseeing locations but there is a subway right outside.

Next time we visit New York we would definitely stay here again ☺️

I came here during the weekend of Hurricane Henri for my sister’s birthday. I booked the double queen room for 2 nights 5 months in advance through their website. When we arrived, we were given an ADA room when I didn’t request for one. I emailed the concierge, Jackson, 3 days in advance of our arrival to confirm my room and there was no indication it was an ADA room. We went into the room extremely disappointed because there were no shower stall and only a curtain between the sink/toilet and the shower. We called to request a different room and was told they were sold out of double queens. We were pretty upset because the room appeared in need of renovation and not what we expected from a 5 star accommodation that cost $450/night. The concierge offered a king room but the space was much smaller and my sister and I wanted more space. After that, they didn’t do anything more to make our stay better despite giving our room away. To make matter worse, we asked for more towels in the evening - never received them. Then the next day when we left our room, the cleaning staff came into our room without our consent to drop it off while we weren’t there. We felt that our privacy was violated since our personal belongings and valuables were left out.

The hotel is in dire need of a renovation - chipping walls, elevator wallpaper held up by scotch tape. They also seem to be sort in staff and the rooftop bar was a small balcony with a few small tables and sofas. The decor was tacky.

I would not recommend you stay here if you want 5 star services, accommodations or amenities. The location is great but there are better hotels nearby.

We stayed there for 4 nights, it’s a beautiful hotel but I wouldn’t say it’s the cleanest. We had a king room, when booking it we had no idea what the room looked like as there was no pictures of that particular room, however it’s the best room I have ever stayed in. We had a balcony and amazing view of the Empire State. Comes with a coffee machine which came in handy! When it comes to the staff the main women who checked us in wasn’t too friendly however the other staff was friendly enough. at the end of the holiday we had to pay a tourist tax, which came to $133.12 which luckily we knew about so I set some money aside. Paying that I wasn’t happy about as that hotel isn’t cheap anyway. Location is okay, but it’s an expensive area to be in, the subway was literally right next to the hotel so that was handy although we only used it twice.

I wish I could say I was way more impressed, but this hotel has more of a transient feel for someone who is transitioning from apartment living rather than someone who is in town visiting. Inside the rooms there are dishes, glassware, a coffee machine, toaster, but lacks things that you actually want from a basic hotel room.

1) Lighting. It was so dark in the room, even opening the blinds did not help.

2) zero counter space in the bathroom. Which seems trivial, but when you are getting ready it’s helpful.

3) plugs next to bed

4) carpeting. I absolutely despise dirty carpets, it really sets the tone for the stay and room in general. Our room had a beautiful view, but the filthiest stained carpets.

On a plus, the beds were comfortable and the bathroom was clean and beautiful. The staff in front is nice, we never bothered to ask for anything.

I’ve seen motels run better than this place! Absolutely horrible 1st they tell you if you want room service you have to order through the iPad which doesn’t work, 2nd after specifically asking for my car to be out at 4am so my girlfriend can catch her flight they told me the Garage Wasn’t open even though they said it would be. Rooms are trash they look like a 3 star property. Walls sooo thin you can hear everything. Oh and staff continuously knocks on your door from 8am -12pm. I even had a front desk agent walk into my room at 9am! The best part is when i ask for a manager to express my frustration they send me to a supervisor who catches an attitude with me like it’s my fault.

My sister and I stayed 5 nights at the Marmara Park Avenue in December 2021 in a room with two queen beds and views of the Empire State Building. The room was wonderful, (larger than expected in NYC) and surprisingly quiet despite the typical NYC noise outside. The beds were excellent and exactly the level of comfort required after averaging 30k steps a day!

The hotel was clean and well presented, perfect to celebrate a birthday trip. It did seem extra special to be there in December because it was decorated for the holidays beautifully. As a birthday surprise we were greeted with a lovely cheeseboard and prosecco for our first evening which really helped start the celebrations.

The hotel location itself is ideal - it's midtown on 32nd/Park Avenue and is right on the subway #6 line which is great if you want to get downtown quickly. Close to a traditional American diner great for breakfast on 33rd/Lexington, ATMs and Macy's. It's also easily walkable to Union Sq and Times Sq.

The staff were superb, from the desk staff (Paul, Omar & Mayerly) to the doormen who were all super friendly and always keen to assist. But special thanks go to Kajsa who went above and beyond even before we arrived to make our stay perfect. When the testing rules unexpectedly changed during our stay Kajsa was on hand to assist and arranged for a COVID testing firm to come to us at the hotel and test us for free, which not only saved us a lot of $$$, but also allowed us to maximise our last two days to enjoy and explore New York.

If we return to New York we will be sure to stay at the Marmara Park Avenue and couldn't recommend it to others enough!!!

I was fortunate enough to visit the Marmara with my parents on Saturday for one night.

On arrival, we were greeted with warm smiles, pets, and a complimentary upgrade!

On entrance to the room, I was pleasantly surprised with the size, amenities, and a state of the art IPad to plan my walkies in the ideal location on park avenue.

After an afternoon nap, we grabbed a drink in the bar area (Yes dog friendly) and popped out for a spot of dinner taking the doorman’s recommendations.

For sure, the highlight was the continental breakfast! I’d made sure I was a good boy, so was treated to an array of fresh pastries, fruit, coffee, and granola, all on the balcony overlooking the Empire State & Chrysler building!

Following this, we popped up to the floor top, and took in the view with a bowl of water provided by the friendly staff.

All in all, if you have a parent/s who are looking for a dog friendly boutique hotel, You can’t over look this quaint & stylish hidden gem.

Will sure to stay again!

The Marmara is everything I could want. I love their Studio Lofts with the beautiful marble bathroom and huge bathtub, and the kitchenette and washer/dryer is a terrific bonus! An indoor pool was what in particular drew me to find the Marmara, and I made use of it every day of my stay. There is a hammam (special steam bath) and an elaborate shower in the same area as the pool. The rooms are quite large for Manhattan, and lower Midtown is a great central location (it’s right by Koreatown). The staff is impeccably kind and helpful. Prices are a bargain for all these amenities. I plan to stay here for every NYC trip.
