I have always wanted to stay in this hotel, and finally got the chance for a long weekend in March. It is truly a beautiful place, antiquey-luxury, with gorgeous accents everywhere in the lobby and lounge. The rooms are also cute, but look much more shopworn. We stayed on a fairly high floor and the view looking uptown was truly... More

The Bowery Hotel is a "vintage" hotel even though it is only 5 years old. Located on the fringe of the Village, it is a quiet oasis with a beautiful terrace for breakfast or drinks. The staff is very attentive (lending me their personal phone charge) and the rooms are very clean. I loved all the little touches like the... More

My sister flew in from LA to stay here for a work gig, so I drove in from PA to spend the night with her. Such a beautiful, clean, classy, charming little hotel. From the second you check in, you know this isn't your typical chain hotel. The room keys are actual keys attached to an oversized, old fashioned tassel.... More

Top line: book this hotel if youre looking for a more authentic New York stay. I've visited many hotels in NYC - almost all in Midtown - and for as much fun as some of those can be, I won't be booking anywhere but the Bowery Hotel, as long as the quality, service and value continue at the high standards... I stayed here for a long weekend and would come back based alone on the accommodating staff. The hotel and rooms are very charming yet the hotel is old. They've done a great job at refurbishing it yet keeping its character. Twenty-four hour room svc, some great places to walk to closeby, clean rooms and privacy. My last night there... More

I have enjoyed numerous trips to NY where all of them have been highlighted with my accommodations at The Bowery Hotel. I recently experienced my 3rd visit with them and every time I find another reason to love this hotel. Whether it is the comfort of the rooms to the friendliness of the staff where all have a kind smile... More

The Bowery is still the Bowery, after all these years. I wish this hotel was in a better neighborhood because we really loved the hotel itself! Walking from the subway station after the theater we felt very unsafe. And the hotel's immediate next door neighbor is a homeless shelter. And like most the rest of the city it smells of... More

The Bowery hotel is a very beautiful boutique hotel in NY. The location isnt great as it seems to be next to a meth clinic or a halfway home, but other than that, OK. The doormen who greet you are wonderful and friendly. Once inside, the atmosphere is interesting, its visually beautiful but too quiet, which makes you feel uncomfortable.... More

We booked the Bowery for our anniversary specifically due to it’s: location, reviews, ambiance, sophistication and timelessness. We planned our trip several months in advance so we were able to secure a rate we were comfortable with. We were within walking distance to some of New York City’s most popular neighborhoods with ample dinning, shopping and bars. We stayed in... More

Staying in East Village

Neighborhood Profile
East Village
There’s still an independent vibe to the East Village, which offers plenty of unique small businesses catering to longtime New Yorkers and area college students alike. The East Village retains a bit of the old-time neighborhood feel that you can still experience today thanks to a mix of locally-owned shops, cozy restaurants, and lively bars. The scale of the residential blocks makes this a wonderful place to wander up and down the streets searching for the newest hip spot, or an old-school favorite. In the center of the neighborhood, Tompkins Square Park serves as a gathering point for the New Yorkers that call the East Village home. The people-watching here is hard to beat.
