Our room on the 6th floor was clean and made efficient use of the limited space. We only stayed two nights but we had no issues with the room being serviced. My only complaints regarding the room are that the sink drained slowly, the shower ran out of hot water quickly, and the view from our window was of a concrete wall next door. Aside from that, I was happy with the accommodations; the room was clean, the bed was comfortable and it came equipped with an iron and ironing board (something a lot of hotels now require you ask for), as well as complimentary coffee and snacks/drinks for sale. Regarding the property generally, the hotel was well maintained and I liked the industrial atmosphere. The roof top bar and balcony was worth a visit as well. That said, the pictures appear to show a complete open air roof top bar, which I did not find during my stay. The rooftop bar is mostly enclosed but opens up to a narrow balcony area. I also did not come across the restaurant (although I did not seek this out). I appreciated the location of the hotel, although if you are looking for a place in the heart of nightlife, this may not be for you. There are a few scattered bars nearby but nothing too crazy. It was in a quieter neighborhood within walking distance of SoHo and Tribeca. Our first morning involved a stroll down Greenwich through Tribeca and into lower Manhattan, could not have been easier. Upon check out, the hotel allowed us to leave our luggage for a few hours until we needed to leave for the airport. The hotel also offered a private ride service to LaGuardia, which I would recommend doing as the driver got us to the airport quickly (30-40 minutes) and the price ($55 plus tip) was in line with the Uber rate. Overall, the hotel was good not great. While its not a perfect hotel, I enjoyed our stay. The rooms were clean, the location was good, and the rate was not exorbitant.

This hotel has a lot of construction around it and it’s very noisy in the mornings. However the worst part is that the hotel is not managed properly and the hotel is short staffed. Only one person at desk , and no concierge. Restaurant which claims on website to be part of hotel and even shows a photo of the outside terrace is actually not part of the hotel. In addition the restaurant seems permanently closed. Our electrical outlets were not working for 3 days and our sink was blocked. They had no one to repair it and sent the bellman up to try and fix it. On the third day we arrived in our room at 7 pm and our room was not serviced. They said their staff was too busy to get it done. We immediately checked out.

The room was terrible. The bathroom sink was blocked. The electric sockets were all broken and we couldn’t charge our devices. The elevators were slow. There are two elevators of which one didn’t seem to always work. When we complained to the front desk, they were less then helpful, borderline rude and extremely dismissive. Finally on our third night they sent up a bellman named Elvis to handle our issues. Elvis was very pleasant and the only bright spot to our rather distasteful stay. He unblocked our sink and found one outlet tucked away underneath the desk. Kutos to you Elvis for your wonderful demeanor in this less than pleasing hotel.

We were a little bit worried because of some of the reviews regarding mostly the noise coming from the construction nearby and the UPS warehouse across the street, and the limited availability of elevators. We requested a quiet room since I have problems sleeping. As we entered the room we thought it'd be trouble. We were on the third floor facing the street. None of that. I'm a very light sleeper and I was never woken up by any noise, neither from the warehouse nor from the construction. Maybe they improved sound isolation, idk, but it was ok. With regard to the elevator, rooftop's rush hour they form a line for rooftop's guests and hotels guests have priority using the elevator. Honestly I did not suffer any inconvenience. Just one time I decided to go down the stairs instead of waiting for the elevator since I was in a hurry and it was rush hour at the rooftop and waited quite a bit for the elevator on my floor. The room was comfortable, really clean and well kept by the cleaning staff. Even though we were under a crazy schedule at times there was no single day (and we spent 8 days there) that we came back and the room was not ready. Location wise: perfect. Just 3 blocks away from Spring St. metro station, very close to most SoHo stores. Room for improvement: shades are beautiful but it's hard to work them to make it fully dark inside the room. It'd be great to be able to adjust not only temperature but also fan speed. Would definitely stay again and recommend Hotel Hugo.
