My husband and I went for business and we had a great staying at Hotel Hugo. The service is super friendly, the rooms have a good size, it’s clean and we hear no noise during the night. The hotel also has a very nice cafe with some good environment to work with your laptop. Gigi from the front desk was super kind with us!

Hotel was sleek, private, and well located. All good. What made this experience exceptional was GIGI, the amazing ray of sunshine at the front desk. Gigi went above and beyond to make sure everything was perfect and it was such a pleasure to come back to the hotel after a long day and chat. Normally front desk people are so cold and uninterested but she was different and really lit up the whole experience! Will be back because of her exceptional hospitality and service

Incredible stay! We stayed at Hotel Hugo for six nights and were very impressed with our stay. The rooms are very clean and have everything you need. In regards to some reviews I've read about the rooms being small, I think you need to have some expectations when staying at a hotel in Manhattan (a standard king/double room just isn't going to be that large) but while the rooms weren't massive they were well planned so they still felt spacious and like I said, they have everything you need. Bonus that the beds are VERY comfortable and that the decor/vibe of the hotel is on point. Every interaction we had with staff was very positive and the location is fantastic for exploring the city. It's walkable to plenty of great restaurants and bars and there are two subway lines in proximity. The only regret I have is we didn't explore the cafe/dining options (for lack of time, not interest) but we did make it up to the rooftop bar for a round of drinks and WOW the view! The next time we're in Manhattan we will definitely be staying at Hotel Hugo again - one of the best all around hospitality experiences I've had in a long time.

our daughter recommended the Hugo to us as she had stayed there pre covid, having looked at teh reviews I was sceptical, we have an aversion to any place that has a lot of 1 review submissions, however we decided to go with it and weren't disappointed. On arrival we were warmly welcomed at reception by I think Mike, our room was at the back of the hotel and was the compact New York size, but perfectly adequate for two of use we stayed for 4 nights. in terms of location I'd very good, Spring Street Subway is probably the closes , but we also used Houston and Canal depending on which line we needed. We also walked up to the highline and breakfast in Greenwich Village We enjoyed the roof bar on a couple on a couple of occasions, the team up there are all nice. We had breakfast one morning in the cafe on the ground floor and can highly recommend the granola . Going out for dinner one evening it was raining and umbrellas were given to us by Gigi to save us going back up to our room. Is the hotel perfect , no but then are any, would we stay again yes, we would the location is good, having aways stayed on the Upper eastside or upper mid town it was such a difference being this far down. If I had to single out one thing that made our stay so good it would be the staff, it gave the hotel a welcoming feeling which accounts for a lot.

I stayed at the Hotel Hugo for 10 days. The Tribeca location is outstanding and the room was extremely comfortable. But what made my stay exceptional was the staff who were extraordinarily helpful and accommodating. I will stay at the Hotel Hugo on future trips.

Hotels are just like families: they all have characters and not a few problems. I stayed at the Hugo five years ago when I got married in Manhattan. After that stay, I left a pretty positive review. I did mention what a chore it was waiting for the lifts and suggested that one of the two lifts be reserved for people staying at the hotel, while the other one could be used by people visiting the hotel to use the roof bar. Unfortunately, my suggestion was not adopted and I found the problem with drunks in the lift was just as bad this time as it was on the first. So, to anyone thinking of staying at the Hugo I would suggest that they request a room as far away from the very noisy roof bar as possible. If you do that then the Hugo is a very good place to stay. Now that I’ve got the worst aspect of the Hugo out of the way, I’ve got nothing but praise for the hotel and its staff. The location of the Hugo can’t be beaten. It’s a very short walk to the Hudson River park; a very short walk to Soho and Tribeca and the lower East Side is also pretty accessible, as is Greenwich Village and midtown. It’s just perfect. The hotel has a very good bar on the ground floor. Unlike the ear-bleeding noise experienced on the roof bar, this bar is quiet and sophisticated. And last but not least, the staff (with one exception) are incredible. Housekeeping was very good and the rooms were always cleaned by lunchtime. The front-of-house team is led by Mike, who is without question of one of nicest and most professional hotel managers I’ve ever met. Nothing was too much trouble for him. We had a few issues during a stay with the water temperature due to a supply problem and something out of his control, but Mike and Gi Gi were consummate professionals and made sure we were compensated for our trouble. They were both so nice and friendly that we actively made a point of chatting to them both before we left the hotel early in the morning or when we returned at night. They are hospitality stars! I will be returning to the Hugo for a third stay sometime in the not too distant future. It’s become my go-to place to stay in Manhattan.

Hotel Hugo was a great home base for our family vacation in NYC. Hotel staff, Gigi and Mike, were welcoming and attentive. Our room was very clean and and the beds were quite comfortable. We were warmly greeted by staff each day when we returned. There are plenty of good restaurants within walking distance and a corner deli nearby for snacks and drinks. The bar and lounge on the roof has a gorgeous view and a relaxing atmosphere. We would not hesitate to use them again!

We are frequent travelers to the city and have stayed all over. After reading mostly positive reviews and calling the hotel directly before booking regarding room size, we decided to give Hotel Hugo a try. Let me start with the positives. We liked the location, it is easy to walk all over the soho area and the river. We liked the price. Parking was convenient. The rooftop view is wonderful. The hotel is quiet allowing for sound sleep. The staff are the real highlight of this property. Now for the cons. Room size is ridiculously small. When I called I was given square footage size and when checking in asked about the room size and was told we were given one of the largest rooms. There is absolutely no way the quoted size met our actual room. There were drawers for clothing in the room that could not even be opened as they were blocked by a small bedside table. One side of the bed had only about 14 inches. We could not both be moving in the room at the same time. The bathroom has mold and filth in the shower and floor area. Marble counter is cracked. Bath mats with 3 holes are given to guests for use. I have provided pics to show a realistic photo of the room size. The photos on the website should be removed, they are not accurate.

I and my friend came for a birthday celebration and fleet week in New York. The Hotel Hugo staff especially Gigi was helpful and so friendly. The restaurant food was delicious and the cafe staff outstanding. The room was clean and the bed amazing. The gym was great. Unfortunately didn't get to see the rooftop bar maybe next time. So close to the Hudson river and all the attractions of Tribeca. We had a blast. Highly recommend this place.

First, the hotel is advertised to be located in Soho. It actually is located in Hudson Square, 10 blocks West of Soho. There are not any retails or restaurants around that area. There are a few high tech firms, office buildings and UPS/FedEx. All the staff are very friendly, from the front desk, the cafe, the housekeepers, except the rooftop bar. The rooftop bar has a great view. We got there at 5pm. All the tables had the "reserve" sign even the bar was desert. After complaining about it, they remove the sign on one table for us. The rooftop bar has a great view of the Hudson River and Liberty Island. We ordered some drinks. We started to notice that the tear and wear in the bar. The floor definitely needs a face lift. Trash and empty glasses were left in the outdoor area but nobody picked it up. The drink arrived in the plastic glasses. It cheapen the drinks immediately. We all felt that we were in the Univ frab. house. We finished one drink and left. I guess this is a place for the fresh out of college grad Tech Workers. Our friends said their room was very small. We had the Luxury King so the size was fine. However, the layout was very strange. The bed was placed very close to the wall, 14" from the wall while the other side has 5' space between the bed and the desk. There was not any furniture between. It left ample useless space. he arrangement of the shower room is also strange. The shower controls are located in the far end of the shower room. We can't turn on the shower without getting a cold splash first. Also, I did not get hot water shower for 2 days out of 6 days stay and our hotel room is located on the mid level. Obviously, the boiler is undersized. This hotel is too off beat from all the site seeing and shopping. It will be a hotel more suitable for business people working around that area. The positive side is that we achieved 15000 to 20000 steps a day on walking.
