Seafarers hotel is a very convenient place to stay if you are on a tight budget and not willing to pay the high prices charged in NY. It is one block away from Union Square so that you have easy access to public transportation, places to eat and shops but the street itself is relatively quiet. It is of course... More

Excellent location - 1 block from Union Square Subway with lots of restaurants and cafes nearby. Staff were very helpful and allowed us to check in early. They also kept our bags for us after check out until our departure later that day. Free wifi in hotel lobby Room was basic, but clean and tidy with tap and basin in... More

I've stayed here twice. Good clean comfortable bed. Great location, just a block from the subway and places to eat or grocery stores as well as food trucks. Hotel is cheap, stained rugs, window didn't close tight, dead bolt didn't catch. I wouldn't bring my wife here but good for a good place to sleep for only $90 in NYC.

I was there in June of 2015. came to hotel as last resort because it was the closest to where I wanted to be for the price I wanted to pay. I could have stayed other hotels better than this one different near locations. Union Square this is was probably the cheapest, but carpet smell is awful

I had a peaceful stay in SIH. The staff were polite and allowed me to change room to a quiet one. The rollover bed is comfy but be careful not to hit your toes with the wheels. The toilets were clean so I had a good time. It's near to Union Square so location itself is good overall.

NYE stay. Chose this place because of the great reviews and the pricing. Well, you get what you pay for... The Good: The price. Reception was friendly and promptly gave me a room when I arrived before noon. The Not Good: It's equivalent to an old Motel 6. The room is old and smells strange. Everything in the room is... More

Thank you for your helpful suggestion of perhaps adding extra staff as security on New Year's Eve. Normally our facility is very quiet, with the one exception of the night that everyone rings in the new year. More

Stay here back in late April/early May after a 4 week tour across the country. First time in New York and completely on my own. This place was perfect to lay my head down at night. Price was so cheap compared to the rest of the hotels. Its basically double the price of a hostel, you share a bathroom (pretty... More

We went into NYC for a matinee show on Broadway on Saturday. We had a nice dinner afterwards and glad that we didn't have to rush back home to New Jersey and could stay overnight in NYC instead. The price for a room is very reasonable for NYC especially since most of the hotels in the downtown/midtown part of Manhattan... More

When we first arrived to check in we were met by the most rude, obnoxious and ill mannered man I have ever met. We said good evening and he snarled " What do you want?" I explained we had a reservation and wanted to check in. He gave us such a filthy look and literally threw the paperwork at us.... More
