This is a basic hotel room, but for $~150 plus $20 for a cot a night, you can have 2 twin beds and sleep 3 (2 adults and a child) for a very reasonable price in a fantastic location (Union Square). The rooms have airconditioning and the bathrooms are quite basic, but we appreciated the economical price for New York... More

I've been staying at SIH each time I visit NYC since 2010 and appreciate the great strides made in upgrades throughout the house, lobby, mezzanine reading and computing lounge, and room amenities. Staff is friendly and accommodating. Location can't be beat for convenience to Union Square neighborhood - eateries, shops (esp. Strand Books), and subway access to entire city.

I have been staying at SIH since 2012 when I moved north from the city. I like this hotel for its great location and spacious rooms with spartan but functional decor. The high ceilings give it a lot of volume! The rooms get natural light. I stay in the rooms with a private bathroom and those are very good value... More

This hotel has an amazing location next to Union Square (with 7 subway lines and every sort of shop and restaurant imaginable). Rooms are somewhat bigger than average New York City- hotel rooms. The furniture is simple but functional, TV with cable worked without any problems. Always hot water (not always the case in NY). Sharing shower and toilet was... More

Seafarers is in a very convenient location, especially if you are traveling on a tighter budget. The rooms are older and small, and there is no wifi in the rooms, but otherwise, I slept well and the bathrooms were clean over the 3 nights I stayed here.

Husband and I stayed here for a week. Because we were on budget and we booked a bit late, we booked a small room with a single bed and a roll-out bed and shared bathroom. At first we were worried about the shared bathroom, as we have never booked a place with shared bathroom before. But everyday, the bathroom we... More

I know hotels are expensive in New york, but for $110 for e two-bedroom what you get here is outrageous. - Not only is the bathroom and toilet share, but they are small, old and not clean - The room was probably 7 m2 with one normal bed and one foldable. - the room did not smell good and was... Seafarers hotel is a very convenient place to stay if you are on a tight budget and not willing to pay the high prices charged in NY. It is one block away from Union Square so that you have easy access to public transportation, places to eat and shops but the street itself is relatively quiet. It is of course... More

I've stayed here twice. Good clean comfortable bed. Great location, just a block from the subway and places to eat or grocery stores as well as food trucks. Hotel is cheap, stained rugs, window didn't close tight, dead bolt didn't catch. I wouldn't bring my wife here but good for a good place to sleep for only $90 in NYC.
