The hotel is currently under renovation, hence there were some inconveniences with one lift out of operation. The room too needs renovation. Carpet is run down. There is no fridge in the room. The air conditioner noise kept us awake all night. However, staff and housekeeping were helpful and polite. When we booked, we were not told of the renovation activities. The licational advantage makes this hotel best out of the rest. Though the inhouse restaurant was closed, there are plenty of eating outlets nearby with a Walgreens next door. Would recommend for tourists and for work related stays.
This hotel is not the plush lobby type you'd expect and is not frills. The location is its best feature with it being within walking distance to most of the midtown attractions like Rockefeller centre and Times Square. The staff are helpful and friendly and the check in and out was hassle free. They even let us leave our luggage with them after check out as we had a late flight and they offered us the use of bathroom for a shower. That's great service. The terrace and upper part of the hotel was under renovation when we stayed and apart from a small issue with the water being turned off (not for long) the works did not interfere with our hotel stay. We would stay here again.
Went to check in at 12 and was told rooms were not available. That happens, no complaint, but when we asked to drop off luggage so we could enjoy the city we were told there was no room. NEVER happened before. Did they look at alternative storage areas? Housekeeping areas? Employee break rooms? Nope, just filled their closet and then told us "there's no guarantee that you can store luggage" Way to not even try to problem solve. Did they look online for luggage drop-off places nearby? Nope. Poor service all round. Hotel is in a great location, with an investment in the property, and an upgrade in staff and trainnig, this place would be a gold mine. As it is, it's a fail. Also asked for an extra pillow at the front desk, never heard back, What a waste of space
Old hotel small room rude personal very noisy AC very expensive for what it is. This is not the radisson level I used to know. Only positive point is the location next to 5th avenue and subway stations
Room was 65F when I got into it. Only have light summer blanket despite my staying on September 14 - had to fold it and fold in the 2 bath towels for warmth. Did not have a blow-dryer in the room. Internet stalled on most short videos. Not suitable for business travel. If you're looking to do NYC for cheap and want to pack a family of 4 into a 200 sq ft room, this might be a suitable choice.
I stayed here from the 8th of Sept till 13th Sept, travelling with another couple. On arrival we were asked for our credit card, which is a normal thing in hotels. All hotel fees had been paid via Hays travel agency, and the hotel did not charge the additional taxes so we were told. When we arrived back in the UK, I noticed a large sum of money was pending from my account taken by this hotel, which has now been debited from my account. I cannot get in touch with the hotel and I am at my wits end. My friend and her husband whom I was travelling with also have had a large sum of money taken. I have never had this happen before, it is causing a lot of stress, as I said it is a large sum of money, which I cannot afford as my holiday to New York was pre paid, and this is money that I need after teturning from an expensive city break!…
City great hotel not so much.. don’t hand over your credit card! Currently waiting to hear why over £1000 was taken from my account when holiday was paid for back in May! If someone from hotel could reply to my email regarding this it would be much appreciated as I need the money back asap!!
Disappointing stay ever. As a Platinum member of the Radisson, I was not treated as such. Not nice experience when the toilet is broken daily, I have to wait very long hours for someone to come fix a toilet that wouldn't flush. Service is very slow, poor and staff are not on top of guest care, managerial staff are very hard to reach and speak to address concerns.
This hotel should not be operating in its current condition. It needs to close and only reopen once it actually gets renovated, whenever that happens. The only redeeming part of this hotel is the friendly staff at the front desk and the hotel’s location. My room was worn including stained carpet, stained flooring in the bathroom, a mushy bed and a sofa that clearly has seen better days. The room was also quite dirty with hair in the bathroom, some kind of glitter or something on the sofa and some debris on the carpet. Nothing but the lobby was open. The terrace wasn’t open, the restaurant wasn’t open, room service wasn’t available and the fitness center wasn’t open either. Of course, the website says it’s all offered at the hotel with no mention of it being closed and no mention of a hotel being under renovation. Plus nothing was said at check-in either. Additionally, they don’t fully honor Radisson Rewards elite benefits either.…
