Hotel is very close to Times Sq and to the park too. I had a room on the 59th floor with panoramic views of the city. It was breathtaking. Room was called Times Sq Grand King. Reception area is very small and the bar/restaurant is forgettable. Room was well equipped and comfortable. Very good stay and probably best views in NY.
This is our favorite Manhattan hotel. All of our prior to 2019, we stayed here. This was our first trip back since then. We arrived at the hotel around 10am. Concierge held our luggage. We checked in at the desk, knowing our room wouldn't be ready until after 4pm. The receptionist (super friendly and very accommodating) told us there was a room on the 38th floor - beautiful room ~ I passed on that room and told her we would wait until 4pm for a higher floor. She agreed and we went about our day. When we arrived around 3:30pm, the room was ready. We went upstairs and were so happy with the view. For your reference, if you ever book the family suite, it always comes with a Tub and all the rooms are in the same location with the same type of view. (Note: covid, shut the hotel down for a long time and is now just getting back to 'normal') I noticed there was a replacement fridge (small dorm fridge) that was located where the fridge drawers used to be. I didn't think anything of it, until I tried putting food inside. It took a while for the fridge to cool down. All items were there for us to make small meals and a quick breakfast; plates, glasses, bowls, bottle opener, mugs, toaster, kettle, etc. I went to use the bathroom and noticed the toilet seat was very loose. I attemted to tighten the bolts behind the seat; no such luck. The bolts were rusted and we needed new nuts and bolts to repair the toilet. The shower was a challenge as well to get the water to turn on - it's been off for a while. Once we were able to turn on the water, it worked just fine. Excellent water pressure. We decided to call Maintenance about the minor issues. Hubby and daughter explored the hotel while I waited for the repairman to come. Time span from the call placed to a repairman arriving - less than 30 minutes. He was so nice, professional and was able to repair all of our issues quickly. Breakfast was interesting. Prior to covid, Residence guests ate separate from Courtyard guests. We were now merged with Courtyard guests and they eliminated the waffle makers, which is a selling point to my daughter. Staff was very friendly. Plenty of places to sit and eat. The vibe was peaceful enough at breakfast to sit and do work on my computer. I truly love this hotel. The views are unmatched and the staff make us feel right at home. I will always come back with hope that they bring back the waffle makers. Thank you to all staff & management!…
Here's a review of my recent stay at Residence Inn - The Good: The location, fantastically located for all the tourist spots and very central ...... and thats about it for the good! The Bad: The shower door didn't seal, leading to a small flood in the bathroom and into the kitchen area. Charging extra for bottled water in the room. The breakfast was average at best, certainly not worth $20. The furniture in the room has seen better days, worn out and damaged, as many have mentioned, the bedding is long past it's sell by date. The whole room felt like it needed a lick of paint and the shower area definitely needed a make over. Also, don't be fooled by the pictures on the website and Tripadvisor,I was expecting to receive a room with floor to ceiling windows, stretching round the corner, what I was given was a small window blocked by a desk, somewhat ruining the view. The Awful: Door slamming at all hours and the lift was incredibly noisy. Paper thin walls, meaning you were disturbed at all hours by people in adjoining rooms. But worst of all, one resident had decided to bring a dog into the hotel, the dog was clearly left in a room on its own as it spent around 5 hours barking in distress. Despite a phone call to reception, the dog continued to bark until 2am in the morning, which is completely unacceptable, and the lack of action from the receptionist suggested they couldn't care less about customer experience. I am really surprised at the amount of 5 star reviews on this page, there certainly wasn't anything 'Excellent' about my stay.…
Stayed for 5 nights, had a great room on the 41st floor, great views times square to the right, central park to the left. The hotel has a good location 5 mins from central park, 10 mins from the square. The rooms are clean and comfortable, with the advantage of a small kitchen, kettle , coffee maker , fridge and dishwasher microwave, the food prices in NY restaurants are expensive and this helped reduce our food bill. Iron and board and a safe are all in the room, this and air con, are sometimes extra payable items in other hotels. Breakfast is included, and is plentiful, from continental to hot items, never queued , never did the hotel run short of anything, if your planning to eat breakfast on the go, fill a box and leave The staff are attentive and polite, and will go the extra mile for guests. 4 lifts are available, and we never had to queue for them I would wholeheartedly reccomend the residence inn, we had a great time in NY , and the hotel was a fantastic base for us.…
We visited New York February of this year for a 7 night break, staying at the residence inn Central Park. On arrival we were greeted by the reception staff and check in was quick and straight forward. We were shown to the lifts and headed to the 53rd floor. The rooms was lovely, my husband had treated me to a welcome of flowers champagne and chocolates which was just perfect. We had a nice kitchen area with kettle coffee machine, sink, fridge and freezer. The bathroom off of the kitchen was a great size, everything clean, shower was powerful and a good temperature. The bedroom was a nice size and had everything we needed, enough drawers, wardrobe in kitchen area. We put our cases behind the curtain on the window cill so they were out of the way for the week. Housekeeping were brilliant, came every day and changed towels, made beds etc. We were very impressed with the breakfast offered. So much choice from cooked to bagels, meats, cheeses, eggs, cereal, fruit, cakes, bottled juices. There was even boxes provided so we were able to box up breakfast for our last early morning start. Overall we would highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting New York City. The location is perfect, near a lot of attractions and subways near by with Times Square only being a couple of minutes walk away.…
This is a really great hotel in a very convenient location. The facilities are excellent. Great breakfast, nice fitness room, renovated rooms. Highly recommend. The staff was very helpful and nice....
My daughter and I needed to crash in the city for one night and used our Bonvoy points to do so. After perusing our choices I decided on this location. This hotel was located near many train lines and eateries. We had a corner room with incredible views. It was a freezing night so we wound up spending more time in the room that we normally would have. We opened the curtains and enjoyed the view. Check in was quick and the elevator wait wasn’t terrible for a city hotel with lots of floors. It was close to Gershwin Theater but not in the madness of Times Square.
Decline. It’s been 3 years since my last stay.. and there has been an unfortunate decline. Sheets are tattered and stained, not enough personnel to change sheets, service is lacking, cleanliness is an issue in the bathroom and for some reason on 62nd floor the elevator sounds like the clanging of a rollercoaster …shouldn’t that concern management?.. past the fact that it makes it hard to sleep?
Good Location walking distance to Central Park and Times Square Booked into a Times Square View room. Level 59. Perfect to watch the lights after a hard days sight seeing. The kitchenette is a bonus. Microwave/ kettle / coffee machine / fridge and freezer./dishwasher . Ice machine on 35th floor alongside washing and drying facilities Room decor is dated and could do with a lick of paint. Housekeeping - could improve bedding quality - looking a tad worn. Breakfast on the 4th floor was excellent value. It was included at the time of booking. We only had to wait a while on one occasion for the lift. A few guests had a ‘take out’ and their food would certainly be cold by the time they got back to the room. Good job there is a microwave there. A great value hotel .
I stayed 4 nights with my 15yo daughter. The staff is very nice and did help us a lot! The room had a nice view and was big for a city hotel! Furniture in the bathroom was bit old, but the bedroom was newly renovated. Everything was clean! Would stay here again.
