This was my first time staying in a hostel and as I was on my own in New York City I was naturally feeling nervous! I booked a 7 people shared dorm and before I confirmed this I called the hostel directly and spoke to a lovely lady who assured me that the price quoted was what I was going... More

I almost feel bad writing this because the staff all seemed like decent people, and there were no mishaps or anything. But unless you genuinely don't care that there are: mousedroppings all over the room, rusted broken bits of mousetraps on the windowsill, mice crawling on and under the sofa and kitchen in the communal TV room, holes in the... He started badly as we had booked an apartment with half a year in advance and was not available when we arrived so we had to stay in 2 double bedrooms with a bathroom for several apartments but were unable to resolve the situation and even to explain or to return money because the value of the rooms was lower.... Pro: -Good location -Fair price -Good for SOLO budget-savvy traveler Con: -My towel stinks, not clean. -No Internet in this apartment. -It's actually NOT THAT CHEAP if you find good deals. Staying in a 8 people dorm costs us 130 a night, but when we checked out we checked in a REAL HOTEL at the same area, 150 a night,... More

Went with friends in January 2010. The owner gave us a small studio in the same street as the B&B. The apt. was a little torn up, the wallpaper was dirty and the heater was a challenge to operate. The freezer and oven worked fine, just like the tv. The hot water was great. There was a double bed in... More

I stayed in a dorm, which wasnt at the same building where the office/common area was, however I loved it and actually think its better because its one block closer to broadway and there is much more freedom in your living arrangements. I stayed in room 5B and the only issue I had was the cleanliness of the bathroom -... More

We stayed in the hostel 10 nights, and overall came away thinking it was OK, but not great. First of all it´s more of a hostel, not really a bed and breakfast. You have to do your own dishes and they do not clean out your room during your stay. Which means if you want fresh towels and sheets you... More

Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
