My wife, son and I stayed at The Archer from 6/16/21 to 6/22/21. NYC was just opening up during that period. Relevant observations: #1, The Staff is great -- helpful, friendly, knowledgeable, professional. This includes the front desk, security, room cleaners and people working at the rooftop bar. #2, Great location -- 2 blocks south of Bryant Park, 4 blocks north of the ESB, 2 blocks from Times Square. We also walked north to Central Park, south to Union Square, and west to the Highline, all no problem. Your walking range is, of course, personal preference. We felt comfortable walking to many of the sights in midtown. We took the ferry from the 34th St. pier down to Wall Street and cabbed elsewhere. #3, the rooftop bar -- The Spyglass -- is outstanding. great view south to the ESB. There was always a line waiting to get in. But, as a guest, you get in whenever you ask. So that's an extra benefit. #4, price appears to be below the average for the equivalent hotels in the area. That's just my estimate based on surveying other options. It seemed like we got a very reasonable rate. I have one other comment that really shouldn't be construed as a criticism: the rooms are not huge. The rooms are clean and set up well. Just not spacious. But we were comfortable, and we were visiting NYC so we didn't spend much time in the room. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.

Seriously, it's the people that make this hotel stand out. The room view of the ESB was amazing, the room was cozy, clean and comfortable; but the people were the best. From the second we arrived they were really above and beyond. They text you ahead of time to say a hello and see if we needed any assistance in getting to the hotel. Texts are so convenient and I was able to confirm we had a room with a view of the ESB. Once we arrived, they helped us without our luggage, told us guests had priority at the sky bar, and even offered to let us bring the kids up to see the view during the bar's off hours (which we did do and Sal was a wealth of NYC knowledge). They made us feel so prioritized and welcomed the entire time. I would stay here again and again.

Smallest hotel room I have ever stayed in. Walls are paper thin so you can hear everything in the hallways and neighboring rooms. Staff was really great though and concierge service was super fast. The new food and snack selection is really lacking.

We loved everything about the Archer. Rooms are exactly as pictured online and they are beyond accommodating. We came here midway through our stay because the other hotel was so awful. The location is great as well!
