This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.

The room that I had was a Luxury King, on the 19th floor. It was much nicer than I had attended. Wonderful view. My only issue during my duration of the trip is that the walls are paper thin. You can hear EVERYTHING! There was a family next to me with screaming kids up all night, and on the other side I could hear thing that were a bit R RATED. I know the hotel can only do so much, and are unable to reconstruct the walls for my liking, but never had this problem in any other 5 star hotel. It was like they were in my room. I’m not a complaining person, so I never took my option to call the lobby to see if they could do anything. That’s why I’m keeping my 5 star rating, cause I know they would’ve, but I didn’t take the opportunity. The staff was beyond professional too. Beyond that, the decor was stunning in the room and everywhere around the hotel. The breakfast is nice too.

We had a very pleasurable stay at the Westhouse for our first trip to NYC. We decided to stay here due to the extras that the hotel provides and the proximity to Central Park, 7th Ave Subway and 5th Ave shopping all being very close by. It is customary for many Hotels in NYC to charge a residency and city tax on top of your room rate and is done due to governing forces - however the Westhouse actually gives back to their guests by offering daily breakfast, an evening meal with wine, beer or bubbles and offers wifi, telephone calls and bottled water all as part of the enforced taxes. Many hotels do not offer any of these extras but still enforce the tax. We also found the price for a suite was very impressive. Having searched through many websites looking for a good hotel, the Westhouse suite was by far the best offer we came across coming in at the same price as many standard queen rooms offered by other hotels. Our suite, on the 22nd floor consisted of a seperate lounge and dressing area, a full size wardrobe, 2 tv's, kingsize bedroom and a bathroom all well decorated and well appointed. The bed and pillows being extremely comfortable and the room very quiet. We were glad to be on the 22nd floor as we did not experience any traffic noise, just the distant ever present hum and car horns that one may expect in the city that never sleeps. Concierge was very helpful suppling us with maps, tips and hints about what NY has to offer the first timer. The rooms are serviced daily and a turn down service is offered. All the staff are friendly and welcoming and do their best to make sure that your stay is one to remember.

Stayed here 4 nights post cruise and it was great from check in to check out. We arrived early, having notified the hotel in advance. To find one of our rooms was ready. We then dropped all our luggage in the one room until they notified us when the other room was ready. The staff were helpful and pleasant. We jammed the safe and within 10 minutes of reporting it someone had come up to open it for us. We were expecting continental style breakfast so was surprised to find Scrambled eggs, sausages and bacon available. As well as cereal/toast etc. Coffee machine and soda were available throughout the day free of charge. Also, was surprised to find happy hour included a light meal & wine/beer all included in the resort tax. we were expecting snacks, but this was more than that. Having been advised that the resort tax was higher at this hotel we certainly felt that it was worth it for the extras we had. We chose the hotel for its proximity to Central Park. The subway was steps away from the front door for easy access to Battery Park & other sites. Just make sure you don't get on the express. On our last day the hotel arranged a taxi for us to the airport and stored our luggage until we left. Not sure but we never had a turndown service in the evening, not sure if we should have or not. But this didn't bother us. My DH celebrated his birthday here and the hotel left a bottle of wine and chocolates in the room for him. Which was a special added touch for his special day. Can't comment on the Gym as we didn't use it. Overall we had a fantastic stay and if we returned to New York would stay here again.

This top class, luxuries hotel situated in the heart of Manhattan is the perfect spot whether travelling for work or pleasure. All staff are friendly professional and take an active interest in the hotel experience of each guest, which made my stay at the West House memorable. It is easy to see how a hotel can be of such a high calibre when you meet the managing director, Mr Don Fraser, whose attention to detail and inviting personality sets the bar high for any hotel wishing to even compete. He went beyond the call of duty to ensure my stay at the West House exceeded expectations. All of this and I haven't even mentioned the exquisite rooms, great hotel amenities, perfect location to times, square, central park, Columbus circle and subway stations. If you are considering choosing the daily access to the lounge level, trust me, you will not look back or regret it. All in all, I will be staying here the next time I am in the city.

from first greeting by Vanessa at desk, Ben's help as concierge and the wait staff in bar and 23rd fl. dining everyone to housekeepers was cordial, initiated greeting and follow though graciously with assistance when needed. The location was ideal for seeing shows, museums, getting subway and walking to central park. Petr, GM was personable, relaxed and informative. All the best to add to our comfort and experience. Did I mention quiet?:, no street noise, spacious room well appointed for our needs.
