That coffee machine on the 27th floor, omg, to die for. Room cleaning by Manese made the room smell so fresh I needed it the most. Front desk Shawn and Mark, were all so friendly, although I failed to take all names. Terrific views!
The room that I reserved was not available and they gave me a smaller room that was basically a closet. I was uncomfortable and stayed one day instead of the originally intended stay. I will not be going back.
This hotel is well priced for NYC. Great Location, clean safe hotel. The room is small but very cute, efficiently designed and worked great! The front desk people were awesome! So nice and helpful! Check out isn’t until noon and we were able to store our bags until our train departure. Having grand central station close by was so fun too!
Hotel at reasonable price, functional rooms, and very friendly staff. Location close to Grand Central ideal for moving around. Did not try the common area at the top, but a previous time spent a nice time on the terrace with view along Lexington Ave
I was pleasantly surprised with this hotel. There are three elevators so not much of a wait to get to the room and the rooms are nicely appointed. Staff was very friendly. A very comfortable hotel at a reasonable price.
The rooms are good enough for the price, but I was highly disappointed by not having a safe or a mini fridge. The water and ice at the corridors are convenient as well as the coffee machine in the rooms.
One of the value in NYC. Small rooms but very clean. No pluck amenities but the top floor lounge offers an amazing view of grand central and unlimited coffee and tea of your choice. So if don’t want to break the bank but want to visit NYC, then this is the place to stay
This hotel was the ideal location to walk anywhere and access all of the great shopping and sites. It was the staff at this hotel that made the stay just perfect. They are so accommodating and helpful and made everything we wanted to do so easy! We couldn’t have asked for more and will definitely return. After staying at this hotel, we wouldn’t stay anywhere else. It was home away from home.
The pluses: very reasonably priced, very clean room, great location. The lounge on the 27th floor with a self serve espresso machine and sitting areas was a nice touch. Of note, the room was pretty small, but for what we paid, that’s fine. They were a perfect size for a long weekend in NYC when we’d be out and about most of the time anyways. It was a little worse for wear however, and could use a renovation. That said, everything was functional, clean, and comfortable. The negative: the service was very lacking. The first night we were there we called down for more pillows since there were only two on the bed and my partner needed to elevate himself to help with a persistent cough. It was somewhat late by this point, but it took over 45 mins to bring us two additional pillows. I’m not expecting instant service after 10pm at night, but 45+ mins seems a bit much. The late pillows would have been fine if they had come with pillow cases. Instead we got two pillows, still in plastic from the store so we knew they were new at least, but without pillow cases. It almost seemed that it had take so long because they’d run out and bought new pillows for us, haha. At this point, it was pretty late, so I didn’t press the matter. In the morning, I texted the front desk to ask them to make up the room (housekeeping was by request instead of by default), and told them about the pillow situation. Instead of getting an apology for the mess up an assertion that they’d fix the issue, I got a curt “Housekeeping had been made aware of your request.” Whatever, as long as they take care of it, which they did not of course. We came back that evening to a still messy bed, no pillow cases, and clearly no other house keeping having been done. All of this aside, I’d probably have not bothered writing a review if I didn’t come home to a $200+ charge posted on my credit card from them for a reservation we prepaid for via AMEX travel. I know hotels typically place a hold on your card for incidentals (and they did tell us they’d do this in the amount of $100), but this was an actual posted charge. I even confirmed that our balance was zero and there would be no further charges when we checked out. I called them and they said something about the payment/charge being misrouted for the room. They promised to refund the extra charge. We’ll see if this actually happens, if not, I’ll file a chargeback with AMEX, but it’s still annoying.…
- the hotel has an excellent location, you can reach all main Manhattan attractions on foot or travelling up to 2-3 subway stations - the lounge on the 27th floor provides a great leisure area with free water, tea, coffee and ice - complimentary laundry and wi-fi plus a gym - the rooms are very clean and well equipped, everything was working as expected - the staff provides immaculate service with my special recognition to Mr. Terence Lloyd who helped out during a very stressful situation
