We have stayed here several times in the past three years as our son attends Fordham Rosehill campus. The location is excellent as it is near Grand Central Terminal and is a quick train ride to Fordham. Another draw, is its rooftop terrace on the 27th floor. Since the pandemic, there has been no wine and cheese hour, however, to be able to take out food and eat there while enjoying the view is a plus!! We have stayed in several different types of rooms but Room 1504 has been the nicest (see pix). The downside to this small hotel is when you have a quick question and it is during check-in/checkout time and there’s only one front desk person.
For a quick couple of nights in NYC, this is a great choice. The staff were helpful and made check-in and out easy, and the rooms were air conditioned, clean and remarkably quiet. The great thing about this place (and why I chose it) is its location, right in the centre of Manhattan, close to Grand Central. I didn't sample any of the facilities such as the bar or the gym, but staff were keen to let me know they were there, and had I been staying for longer, I'd definitely have sampled them.
The location is perfect right by grand central and the Chrysler building. But at the same time it is quiet and relaxing. The rooms and bathroom were big for a NYC room and so clean. I would stay here again!!!
I did not get the room booked, overpriced, misleading pictures, the first room smells a cigarrete, the second smells like a ditch, noisy, unautorized charges were made on mi credit card; broken furniture. In general a very unpleasant experience. I made a written claim but it was not answered.
CQ Grand Central is like sleeping in a closet. There is NO housekeeping services, the lobby is like a prison visitor check in. The staff are rude, the bathroom is tiny and shower leaks all over the floor; DO NOT STAY HERE!!! Pay an extra $100.00 per night and stay at the Hyatt around the corner on Lexington Ave.
First - 27th floor coffee/espresso/tea machine and indoor/outdoor lounge. Do hit that every morning - didn't discover it until halfway through our weeks stay. And water filling stations on each floor - bring your own refillable water bottle so you don't waste resources on their fully stocked bottles with caps that they provide. Environment first! Second - the CQ team is top notch - friendly and helpful. You only have to text and they are on whatever is needed very quickly. Third - very convenient to the subway or busses going to Times Square. Fourth - I hate large crowds so this is a perfect location if you don't like the throng of masses near Times Square or other locales that get swamped. And an excellent jumping off point to hit touristy sites from north to south to east to west of Manhattan - and bonus, a 99 cent pizza slice shop (cheese only) one minute walk north of the hotel. Did I mention the friendly and helpful staff?…
This is a New York 4 star review. Most hotels are overpriced and rubbish in NYC. This hotel is good friendly and helpful service. On the top floor was a nice Lounge, balcony with decent coffee. The room was an okay size with desk and good furniture. No air con. Open the window at night and put up with horns. Shower room was okay. I couldn’t really fault the stay. An uninspiring hotel anywhere else in the world. But for New York pretty good.
The room was very clean and the staff very friendly and helpful. We came in at Grand Central and found this place a good choice. The 27 floor lounge and patio is very nice. A terrific view. Coffee machine excellent.
This was a great value. We found the staff to be superb and efficient The elevators were fast and never a problem. Easy to check-in and check-out. Free bottled water. Our air conditioner went out after the first night. They moved us to the room next door.
This small hotel was in is a good location for the price. The lobby is very small, but the staff was absolutely amazing. If I needed anything the hotel staff took care of it. Will probably look at the other Club Quarters that is closer next time
