The only thing that is good about this hotel is the location. The room needs a good make over the dark bits makes it look old fashioned Felt like a shoe box Found dirty bed sheets so these hadn’t been changed Very thin toilet paper The heating is so noisy We were on the 2nd floor, there are only 3 lifts so there is a long wait due to the amount of floors in the hotel The gym is tiny, nice to see a wash room with free laundry liquid I definitely would not stay here again as I found the hotel noisy with cars by the post office
Stayed here for 4 nights at the beginning of February, hotel location was good however can’t say the same for the hotel! On the 2nd night I had items taken out my room from the housekeeping staff, which were of large cost. Staff were unhelpful and actually quite rude and ended up me having to get in contact with the hotel manager on my last day before it was resolved… This was my first time visiting New York and I tried to not let it ruin my 30th birthday trip away but unfortunately it did!
The location is outstanding, 3 minutes from Grand Central Station. Luggage was safely kept for us both before our check in, and after check out, very organized. Top floor terrace has city views, we were on a budget and purchased to go meals and ate them there while enjoying the views. A deli across the street has a good selection of beer and wine. The Grand Central Market has great food at good prices, both sit in and take out. Walking distance to many places we wanted to visit, St Patrick's Cathedral is only a few minutes away, from there we went to Central Park. Brooklyn Bridges not far, we did take metro, but close enough, it is walkable. Pricing is very reasonable for NYC
We stayed here over the New Year period for 4 nights on a couples city break. Immediately what stood out was the location and value of the hotel - both excellent. We decided we'd be out exploring for most of our time in NYC so did not need a grand lobby or huge hotel with restaurants etc. This place matched what we were looking for perfectly. Still modern and comfortable, the hotel met our every need. The rooms were spacious enough and we went for a basic one, the staff were also incredibly friendly and helpful offering lots of knowledge about the city. The absolute hidden gem is on the top floor, an observatory/lounge offering a nice atmosphere of peace out of the chaos of the city and great views outside, the Chrysler building in particular. It has a great coffee machine, and we saw plenty of guests enjoy the ambience with some drinks/food they had bought themselves (there's a small store right opposite). I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this hotel for those with needs similar to ours. My only feedback is you have to ask for housekeeping services, it isn't standard. Once we knew this it was fine, although we did ask one day and it wasn't done. This was resolved the next day with an apology. Thanks for a great stay …
Fantastic stay in this hotel. We stayed for 3 nights over Xmas week. I had never previously used or seen this hotel but would def stay here again. It’s a little difficultly to see from the outside but has a great location. 10 minutes into Times Square, minutes from grand central and Bryant park. All attractions within easy walkable reach. Plenty of local Delhi’s, grocery stores, fast food stores and a couple of bars and pubs within 1 minute walk. Staff are very friendly here and did greet us warmly every time we walked through the door. We did have an issue when given the wrong room at check in but this was sorted quickly. Rooms were of a good size seeing as New York rooms are notoriously small. The shower was fantastic and the bed was comfortable. There is a also a sofa area and table in each room. Lounge on the 27th is nice, has some good views and free coffee. The free refill water bottles on each floor are also welcoming. Only small gripes were the room was not serviced once during the trip- which we didn’t particularly mind but the bins were overflowing at the end and made the room cluttered. This also meant the coffee was not re filled. Overall though/ very impressed and would recommend.…
A 3 night stay in this hotel which I booked after being let down by another. I mention this because I think that it is important to say that while this was not my first choice I will 100% be returning when I come back to New York. The beds were comfy, the room was clean and well equipped. The terrace view was stunning, especially at sunrise. I have so much more that I want to explore in New York and the location of this hotel is perfect for that. If you enjoy walking then a lot of the main sights are nearby, and if you don’t then Grand Central is just around the corner. The staff were welcoming, friendly and funny. One has the best laugh I ever heard, and the two on reception when we were leaving to catch our flight home went above and beyond to help us when we were running behind schedule with no cabs to be found. Thanks to them we made our flight. Excellent service, great value, and I am very glad the other places let us down. …
We had an excellent stay during NYC trip. The hotel is located in the midtown Manhattan on Lexington and 45th. Only 2 min. Walk to the Grand Central. You can either enter the station on Lexington or through MetLife building. Very easy to get access to and from JFK via metro and other attractions. Room was clean and well-equipped. Definitely will stay again. Highly recommended!!!!
As another reviewer has noted, the hotel will sometimes place large unexplained charges on your credit card. And if they do, good luck contacting them to get it resolved: the phone numbers are disconnected and they do not respond to emails. I prepaid for a reservation through my credit card's travel portal. Despite this, each day I stayed at the hotel, a new charge appeared on my credit card. I asked the front desk about it and they claimed this happened with all the prepaid bookings because of some quirk of how their computer system works, but assured me that these were just holds, and that the charges would not post. I've never encountered this before, but I figured it was no big deal. Of course, after I checked out, the charges did post. I tried to call the hotel's publicly listed phone numbers: dead end. The travel portal customer service people have been trying to contact them for three weeks, but this also lead nowhere. Today, I disputed the charge on my credit card. On top of that, when I asked for a partial refund because one of the rooms I booked had almost no sunlight (but cost the same as other rooms that did), the staff member at front desk assured me that they would do this, but because I had a prepaid booking, I'd have to request this through the travel portal. But, of course, the travel portal folks cannot contact them, so that is also dead in the water. Whether this is deliberate malicious behavior or rank incompetence, I do not know, but it caused me the same amount of stress either way, so what does it matter. It is a shame because the hotel itself is nice enough. The location is tough to beat. The rooms are nice (though some of the decor clashes). And there is a large balcony and indoor workspace on the 28th floor with many places to sit, nice views of the city, and free coffee/tea/sparking water. But I wouldn't stay there again, and you shouldn't either.…
I stayed here for 2 nights and was lucky to get a room at 24th floor with a magnificent view! The room was clean and the shower cabin was newly renovated. Staff was super friendly and I really enjoyed the view from the 27th floor terrace. The hotel is well located so you get the NY vibe as soon as you go out the door. I really do not regret that I decided to book a hotel in the heart of NYC!
For a great hotel stay obviously room, location, amenities, etc. are important. But equally important is the staff working there. And that's where this hotel set itself apart. Fira and the team are simply brilliant. First off, they were really helpful, let uns check-in early and gave us a great room. But also - I drunkenly lost my wallet somewhere in the hotel and Brandon from Housekeeping gave it to the reception and the wallet made it safe back to me. Great stuff! Oh and location of the hotel is absolutely great, value for money is absolutely there. rooms are functional. But also free laundry, basic but equpiped gym and free cold water on every level, so all the needs are covered. Would go again!
