Classic dog friendly hotel in Chelsea area that has the charm and attitude to make you happy to be staying there. Great coffee bar, rooms are cozy and elegant, and I just keep going back there every time I am in New York.

We came at first because of the Chelsea location and have been back a number of times because of... * the warm and welcoming ambiance, where one feels enveloped in the building's history * the feeling that this is a true neighborhood gem, used by locals too * the comfortable renovated rooms, which retain the charm of their history as... Delightful & charming -- good spot for coffee & conversation -- welcoming & genuine. Good seating in the lobby area & a garden. Envy the guests ... bikes are free for them. Will be returning for lunch or dinner at the outside restaurant -- looked delish!

The staff at the hotel is great. The hotel however is not meant for a business traveler. The hotel does not offer room service, desks in room are very small and they don't start serving coffee until 7 am, at the ultra hipster coffee bar, where it takes 15 minutes for a plain coffee, and each cup ordered is an... Thank you for your wonderful comments about our staff. We do not have room service but we have our garden restaurant Alta Linea open every day for lunch and dinner. Should you be interested in other dining options Chelsea has a multitude of restaurant options. All our rooms have desks and depending of their size they offer either a large... More

We stayed for our son's wedding, and this hotel made the event most memorable. Upon visiting Our children in the future, we will always stay here. The coffee bar is fantastic, and the rooms were better than any other in New York.

Great renovated hotel, helpful staff, terrific restaurant/bar and great coffee (for fussy Aussies). Location near the highline is great, close to Chelsea markets etc. The room was slightly small for 2 travelers with large suitcases, but I guess you cant have everything!!!

The High Line Hotel doesn't feel like a NYC hotel: the rooms are bigger than typical and our room looked over a tree lined area, quiet enough to open the windows, and yes! the windows open! Lovely coffee shop downstairs and a nice open area for coffee and drinks outside when the weather cooperates. Nice vibe, feels welcoming and not... More

The HighLine is a charming Old-World style hotel and my favorite place to stay. It has a great location and convenient to activities and entertainment. The personnel are very friendly and seem to enjoy their work. It has great outdoor spaces - lovely outdoor patio at the back and comfortable street side seating for lunch plus a bar. They even... I live in NYC and I had to stay at a local hotel for a few weeks during a home improvement project. I chose the Highlan hotel based on location, West Chelsea and the ambiance, not corporate but personalized and the amenntities including a very chill out door space, bikes and more. The hotel attracts people from the neighborhood with... More

Staying in Chelsea

Neighborhood Profile
Chelsea
Home to hundreds of art galleries, beautiful brownstones, and one of New York’s newest and most popular attractions, Chelsea is one of the city’s jewels when it comes to neighborhood life. The contemporary art scene is an integral part of the neighborhood’s identity, with gallery openings almost every night of the week and countless exhibits to explore. As a longtime hub of gay culture in New York City, it’s also a diverse district with a vibrant nightlife scene. The opening of the High Line, an abandoned elevated train track transformed into a world-class pedestrian park, gave this neighborhood new life as a tourist destination. The High Line provides visitors with a tranquil, elevated space with incomparable views, providing an unparalleled way to experience the city.
