In one week received no service one day. Staff told us that the maids were now busy with other rooms and would not get to our room, despite us being out all day from 7.45 am to 6pm. Towels are old and rag like. Staff entered the room unannounced at 11.57pm, and awakened my wife and me.
After we missed our connecting flight we had to stay over in NYC - it was 1am when I booked the room and past 3am when I finally was given my room card. There No sheets on bed and told one price when booking over the phone to be charges 300% more. I was quoted $189 (which I thought was low as did the other 4 people that were checking in at the same time) minute booking and charged over $500 per room when the email came through. Junior staff left to fend for themselves, management should be embarrassed.
The lobby is tiny. Room is very small too. It's not worth the price or the Hyatt brand. While it is in a very good location there are several other choices of hotels at the same price level but with much better values.
room was very dirty, broken window..window was repaired after, but room was not cleaned..sheets were changed a they were all stained with blood..floor was dirty, chair was dirty, no surfaces were clean..bath also very dirty
Overcharged, room not available, inaccurate description of room given. No response from customer services even though have given them time before this review was written. The hotel is positioned in a noisy location and if you want a nights sleep ask for a high courtyard room that is in fact just a dirty internal view of other buildings.
Tried this hotel for the first time. Great location, beautifully appointed. The restaurant inside is decent, although the food is salty! Unfortunately, the hotel did not have hot water in the morning and I had morning meetings in our local office. When I called the front desk, the woman just said "we know" with no estimate of timing of the fix. I had to "shower" in the sink with cold water and even shave my legs in the sink, which was no party. Thank goodness for Paul Acosta, the director of the front office. He was very understanding and professional. He comped my lunch and gave me additional points to my membership. I hope Hyatt knows what a gem they have in Paul!
This has always been our go to place in New York City because the location is convenient and hotel was adequate. Not this time! The lights in our hotel room came on repeatedly Spontaneously throughout the night. We were there for three nights. Every morning we complained to the manager. The problem was not fixed. The manager claimed that nothing was wrong and refused to believe us. I’ve never had such an exasperating experience in any hotel. In addition our room hotel was very well worn and needs a complete renovation. The bathroom door for example did not even have a handle. See photo. We expect better from a Hyatt hotel.
Pretty good for our purposes and compared with other NY locations that we have stayed, however for the money I expected more. Great location for our visit to NYU. Good size room, plenty of towels and hot water. The reception was under-staffed, and the staff seemed somewhat stressed. I was a little disappointed with the service and attitude of the wait staff in the Bowery Rd restaurant. I did the fast check-out and was charged for bottled water that we never drank. I would stay again if I needed accommodation in that immediate area.
We loved this hotel. We had never been to New York so I was not 100% sure when we booked this hotel. It exceeded our expectations. The location was perfect. The room was very nice with just some really cool features. The bar downstairs was very unique and we took pictures and shared with several people who lived in New York and had never been there and are now going to visit it!
Probably one of the worst hotel I've ever stayed at. I stayed there because of the location. We were laughing and comparing it to the Howard Johnson. No room daily room cleaning, only every 4 days. Super small rooms and bathroom. No amenities. 👎
