Hotel's Favorite
What a great location which is ideally located to terrific restaurants, bars and shopping venues. The hotel is very clean and has a boutique vibe in the overall look, furniture and there was even a jazz group that played in the hotel bar. One thing I do want to point out is how willing the staff was to make EVERYTHING perfect during my stay. Top notch in execution and it's very clear the staff loves what they do. Hats off to Roger, who I saw engaged with a person who wasn't…very polite. Roger kept his composure and went above and beyond in accommodating this rude individual. Keep your head when others around you are losing theirs. I can't wait to stay again at this location. Just can't say enough about the visit.

I’ve been staying at this Hyatt for ~10 years and appreciated it for what it used to be. A dependable option for a small, clean room, consistent service, and lower cost than other NY Hyatts. It was the very definition of mid - and that was fine! It embraced it and provided a solid product in line with its lower price and competitors. Post-pandemic they slapped on a destination fee, added doormen, raised the prices, and project bougie energy without investing in the hard or soft product to match. The hotel is showing its age (rooms leaking on this trip, banged up interiors, etc), service is mediocre, and no obvious investment in either since my visits pre-pandemic except for seemingly more staff in the lobby. My most recent stay involved some issue on each of my 5 days there - from my room not being ready until 5:30, trash on floor, missing towels, WiFi not working, errant fees on my bill, noisy elevator keeping me up at night. I’m also a Lifetime Globalist, so you should expect an equal or worse experience than mine. And yes - the destination fee is a massive scam here. The perks are egregiously bad, to the point that the included “Premium” WiFi only allows two concurrent connections per room. All for $30/day. This Hyatt needs to do some soul searching and embrace its mid-tier status. Invest in fixing your hard and soft products, scrap the destination fee, and go back to being a solid, affordable option for a clean, NY-sized hotel room. Until then, I’d recommend another hotel unless you can find a room here for < 330/nt (destination fee included 😉)…

When the hotel staff if warm and friendly it can make all of the difference, especially in a city so busy and big. One staff member who really stuck out to me was the Bellman Jonathan! Such a pleasure seeing him and being greeted by one of his jokes as I enter the hotel. Also the check-in experience was smooth and the room was ready when we arrived early,which is always a big bonus.

I am a disabled person with limited mobility, that drove from Massachusetts to NYC. I stayed in Stamford the night prior in a hotel. It’s too long of a drive for one day. I had to check in 2 hours prior to normal. At first my room wasn’t ready. I showed him my back, and neck, as I wear electrical nerve stimulators on my entire spine. I asked for any room with floor space to lay on. And, I received a room immediately. They saved my trip, as my body crashed. Big time. I needed the 2 plus hour crash, to enjoy my concert. And I did. All, thanks to the Hyatt, Union Square and their Staff.

During my recent visit to the Hyatt Union Square, I had the pleasure of experiencing the exceptional service provided by Jonathan, the friendly bellhop. While I waited for my friends, who were guests at the hotel, over at the bar, Jonathan was incredibly helpful with directions and local tips. His warm and welcoming attitude truly made my wait enjoyable. Moreover, I couldn't help but notice the exquisite decor throughout the hotel. The attention to detail in the design added a touch of elegance to the entire experience. Knowing my friends were staying here and experiencing this level of service and lovely decor, I wholeheartedly give the Hyatt Union Square a solid 5-star rating. It's a place that truly values its guests and creates a wonderful atmosphere.

The room was decent, however the size was tiny. For the price I paid, I expected it to be much better. Check in was easy, and the staff were pleasant. However the price of the room, didnt match the actual room. Unlikely to stay again because for that price I can find much better.

I have a explorist level membership at Hyatt. Despite this i had not a pleasant stay at Hyatt union square. The hotel check in standard time is 3pm and despite requesting for an easily check in , i was given a room only at 4pm. I had booked a junior suite which was suppose to be room with a view. The room 311 had no view at all. Finally the hotel do not accept cash at all, a fact which should have been disclosed at the time of booking and came as a rude shock and a last minute rearranging the mode of payment. Net net very unpleasant experience.

Great location, fabulous service, rooms very well appointed and clean. This was a last minute, quick flip trip. We had never stayed at this hotel, but the location was perfect for where we were going. So glad we chose the Hyatt USNY.

Great location. Close to Subway. Easy connections to various tourist sites. Lots of good places to eat nearby. Strand bookstore around the corner is worth a visit. JFK Airport is a little inconvenient to get to.
