Chose this hotel mainly based on location and value. For the money, I thought it was a very nice hotel. Quality was comparable to a Hilton or Marriott but in a boutique hotel. Pros: Clean, good onsite restaurant, quiet rooms, good location, unique and well done architecture/design, friendly staff Cons: Small rooms (even vs. other NYC hotels I've stayed at),... More

We decided to stay in the Village on our 6th trip to NYC having previously stayed in Soho, Midtown, the Upper East Side and Lower Manhattan. We came upon the Walker [back when it was called the Jade] and made our reservations 10 months in advance as we wanted to be sure to snag one of the Barrow Queen rooms.... More

The Walker Hotel Greenwich Village is a fantastic boutique hotel in a great area of NYC with plenty to see and do in the surrounding area. The hotel itself is excellently furnished in an art deco style, and the staff were incredibly helpful and attentive to all of my needs. This was especially apparent during my stay, as my wife... This is a very attractive boutique hotel decorated in art deco fashion. The location was excellent with easy subway access and was within walking distance for Greenwich Village, Chelsea and the Highline. The staff were welcoming, friendly and helpful. The room, while comfortable, was small (cozy?) with limited storage. Since we were travelling with just carry-on luggage the size was... More

I stayed at the Walker because of business meeting near Union Square. This hotel is on a (relatively) quiet street. My room was extremely quiet, small but efficiently furnished, with a small terrace. The A/C was fabulous..... especially since it was almost 100 degrees outside. Very convenient to Union Square, Greenwich Village, & West Village. Very friendly front desk staff... More

We stayed here for four days. It was lovely and in a fab location. We really enjoyed the lush shower and bed. The bar out the back is lovely too but we didn't spend too much time, as were exploring the city. If I had to complain, I would suggest that the aircon in the common areas was set to... More

We stayed here recently for a short 5 night break. The hotel staff were friendly, kind and very attentive, Josh always seem to go that extra mile for us with bags, doors and seeing what our plans where. Hotel is clean, great facilities, a fabulous bar and restaurant. As a couple with no kids the hotel was perfect as there... More

The Walker is a beautiful boutique hotel, with friendly staff and a fantastic restaurant. My room was lovely, the interiors evocative of the art deco era with special details and furnishings. The view over the city makes you feel like a downtown new yorker, but not at the expense of sound proofing. It's perfectly placed in the greenwich village area... More

The Walker Hotel is located in a great location. Close walking distance to the heart of the West Village as well as Chelsea. The staff was very friendly and the Art Deco decor of the hotel is beautiful. We stayed in a double room and it was definitely an adequate space for two people. The room and bathroom were very... I found this hotel to be beyond awful. 1. Room 507 which I am in has mold in it! (Picture included after they have cleaned it!) Apparently because of a leak in the shower. 2.it has no air conditioning but air cooling. 3.you cannot change the fan speed. So it is always on hi. 4.air constantly hitting the bed so... More

Staying in Greenwich Village

Neighborhood Profile
Greenwich Village
Commonly known as “the Village” to New Yorkers, it was here in Greenwich Village that both 1960’s counter culture and the LGBT movement were born. Famous for its bohemian past, head to Washington Square Park to get a feel for this diverse and energetic neighborhood. You’ll find NYU students, street performers, skateboarders, kids frolicking in the fountain, and locals relaxing and playing chess. Stroll the streets to discover a mix of majestic town homes and hidden bars and restaurants that give this neighborhood an old-school residential feel. When the sun goes down, check out one of the famous jazz or comedy clubs that still packs them in every night.
