Excellent hotel, perfect for our 5 night stay with great location and helpful staff.
Beautiful art deco style hotel in a fantastic location close to subway, 5th Ave and the vibrant Greenwich Village neighbourhood. The staff in particular made this stay extra nice for us with their friendly and helpful style. Big shout out to our main man Tyler on reception for going the extra mile and making us feel super welcome from the moment we walked through the door to the moment we left. Always there with a big smile and couldn’t do enough to help us out! Thank you!
Dear bdsyndicate, Thank you for choosing The Walker Hotel Greenwich Village. A true gem at a good price
The Walker hotel is a truly extraordinary experience. It is funky, posh, and unique. The beds are like sleeping on clouds, the rooms are quiet and exceptionally tasteful, and we really enjoyed the small touches like cookies delivered to the room, and text messages from our personal concierge. The location cannot be beat, as it is at the edge of the West Village but super close to Union Square, so totally accessible to Times Square, and all of the museums, etc., in Midtown as well as the hip downtown scene with its vintage stores and farmers markets. The only (tiny) point of feedback we had was that the room is a bit dark as most of the lightning id table lamps. Otherwise, it far exceeded our hopes.
Dear 390melissag – You have talked about all that we hold dear here at Walker Hotel Greenwich Village! Thank you for recognizing the little things we do for our guests like turn down service cookies and text messaging service. We love that you were able to really relax, enjoy, and sleep soundly during your stay with us. I have noted your profile for an extra lamp to be placed in the room for your next stay! – Courtney

    Elegant, warm, charming, stay here
This was a most pleasant surprise. A beautiful hotel with staff that go out of their way to accommodate guests. A warm and welcoming fireplace in the wooded reception area. We were met by intimate live jazz playing a very good restaurant and bar (we spoke to a group of locals who come to the restaurant which is always a good sign). The rooms are small but with lots of welcoming touches, including terry cloth-lined bathrobes and slippers in the rooms. The walk-in shower was great and the bathroom amenities of good quality. The shower heads are a bit funky and should be replaced. But everything else was perfect. Staff were great throughout. A special thank you to Bates who gave us great restaurant recommendations and arranged for a piece of birthday cake to be sent to our rooms. This is a high class place without pretentiousness. Will definitely go back next time I’m in New York.
Dear lovestravelling2003 – Our jazz nights on Fridays and Saturdays really do set the tone for a smooth stay! We are thrilled you were able to listen, relax, and enjoy during your stay! Thank you for recognizing Bates, one of the key members of our team who always offers the best restaurant recommendations! Hopefully next time in New York comes soon! – Courtney

The hotel is brilliantly situated in Greenwich Village and the staff, particularly Rosa were exceptionally helpful throughout. The rooms are a little on the small side but for two adults we managed perfectly fine throughout for a week. The rooms are very clean with decent size bathroon, a bit light on storage space if you are there for more than a few days. The rooms on the top floors boast a lovely view of the Empire State so well worth asking before. The restaurant downstairs technically does not belong to the hotel but offers reasonably priced food for the area, but there are better alternatives nearby. For drinkers it is a better shout during happy hour. The only principal let down is really the gym, it is partnered with Planet Fitness in Union Square which is a real dive compared to the hotel and they would do well to seek an alternative partner or else create an appropriate space as it is quite hostile. However, besides this, the hotel and staff provide excellent service and I would heartily recommend to anyone looking to stay in NYC and get value for money in an ideal location to visit the city. For couples, larger rooms should be sought for longer stays given the shortage of storage space in rooms.

We loved our stay at the Walker Hotel. The lobby was of course my first impression. It was stylish and cozy and comfortable and inviting. We arrived early and the staff was so friendly and helpful, keeping our bags for us before our room was ready. The room was lovely and amazingly quiet. There were a few maintenance issues, like a loose faucet in the bathroom, and a loose towel hook. The last morning of our stay the boiler was having problems, so we had to take cold showers. That wasn't fun, but honestly, everything else about this hotel was so wonderful that I can't really hold it against them. I can't wait to stay here again.

hotel is overpriced, pictures on the web are not that representative. we had no water for the majority of the stay and the response from the hotel on the problem was really disappointing. the manager said it wasn't a big deal and "we should be happy he provided a roof over our head at this location", he offered us a 15% discount for the "slight inconvenience"

This is not a 4 star hotel and it is extremely overpriced. The hot water was not working and the response from management was extremely poor. Upon arrival the room was ready, although not as nice as depicted on the website. After dinner and drinks at the hotel restaurant I went back to the room and there was no hot water. The front desk offered no help or resolution to the issue that night. The hot water was finally resolved 1 hour before checkout the next morning. I understand that problems like this can arise but when paying $1000 a night for a hotel room I expect a higher standard of customer service.

We spent 5 nights at the Walker, specifically chosen for its location away from typical tourist attractions. Everyone on the staff was always very helpful and welcoming. The day before checkout, Tyler was particularly accommodating in meeting our needs for a very late checkout - He was great.

Superb location just outside of built up Midtown Manhattan with easy access to the subways to get you where you need to be, great food and bars just a short walk away into Grenwich Village. Rooms are nicely finished with art deco character adding to our New York experience. Complimentary morning coffee and water were nice little extras when departing for our daily sight seeing adventures.

A visit to NY Open Tennis and family visit. Bathroom had no surface to put toiletries, no closet in room, shower was part of the bathroom and water sprayed all over the floor. Shower curtain blew into shower. AC was noisy. Breakfast was good, we liked the location for exploring Greenwich Village.
