No heat in the room, poor customer experience, does not enforce COVID safety measures in building. I had booked this hotel for my first night away from my baby to (finally) get a quiet nights rest. After feeling a cool draft coming from the window and realizing that the thermostat didn’t work, I called the front desk to see if the heater was broken or if I could get a space heater. At 10:30pm I went down to the lobby only to learn that 1) the hallways were warmer than my room and 2) no heaters were available. I was offered a light cotton blanket as the remedy. I asked for another room with no luck - the staff member seemed unconcerned or unwilling to rectify the situation. In the end, I wasn’t able to sleep due to the cold room temperature of 65 degrees. If I knew that I was going to pay $$ to lay in a bed fully clothed and too cold to move and a staff not willing to help further, I would never have booked this hotel. What was supposed to be a special night to regain my sanity during this pandemic turned into a horrible experience that left me feeling helpless and worse for wear. *Upon leaving, I saw two people sitting in lobby near the front desks NOT wearing masks while working on their laptops. The front desk agent was right in front of them and didn’t do anything to enforce mask wearing.

Dear Courtney – Thank you so much for your feedback. Reading your review it is clear we missed the mark here and did not live up to our own expectations of 5 star service, comfort, and hospitality. The circumstances of your stay are not our typical guest experience and we would like to make this right for you. We feel terrible that you were unable to have a pleasant night’s sleep while you were with us. We always want our guests to relax and truly enjoy their time at Walker Hotel Greenwich Village. When we hear otherwise we learn, make modifications and improve to provide the highest level of hospitality we can. We would love the opportunity to invite you back and provide the type of excellent experience we are known for. Please reach out to me directly so I can help coordinate any future stays and show you the true Walker way. - Courtney

We spent 4 nights here, loved the room and staff. Hotel is in excellent condition, rooms not tiny by NY standards. Location is very good, between 5th and 6th Aves- not lively, but very easy stroll to dining, shopping and nightlfe. Upper floor rooms have long views.

Loved the Lobby with it’s rustic and nostalgic charm. Room had a balcony with landmark views of Empire State. Tub was a nice addition, as big as the pancake dish! Can’t wait to return and enjoy the fire places in restaurant and Lobby again before it gets too warm!
