NEW YORK LUXURY HOTEL NEAR BRYANT PARK Refinery Hotel is the imaginative reinterpretation of the Colony Arcade-a former hat factory and Prohibition-era tea room. More than 100 years of Garment District history are on display at our luxury hotel near Bryant Park. With an unprecedented degree of precision, much like the milliners before us who stitched elegant hats, we transformed a factory building into stylish loft rooms with soaring ceilings, the acclaimed Parker & Quinn restaurant, and our fashionable Refinery Rooftop bar.

The Refinery Hotel garners praise for its spotless rooms and vibrant atmosphere, complete with live jazz and a chic rooftop bar boasting stunning views. Nestled in a central location, guests appreciate the easy access to attractions and dining. The hotel's staff is frequently commended for their exceptional service. However, some travelers mention noise disruptions and feel the hotel's pricing doesn't equate to the value received. While the amenities, including comfortable beds, are well-liked, there are suggestions for improvement in coffee service and rooftop access.

I recently stayed at the Refinery this October of 2020. I felt very safe with all the covid precautions and very well taken care of by the staff. The rooms are very nice and spacious and everything is disinfected with masks and alcohol wipes offered in each room. Anne downstairs was so accommodating and went above and beyond to make us feel comfortable and at home. Highly recommend . Great location, great accommodations and great service.

The hotel looked lovely, smelled even better and was staffed by some of the friendliest people I've met in the hospitality business. The room (Superior Double Queen) was very spacious and interestingly accoutered, and the beds were comfortable and well-dressed. The Rooftop Bar is a main attraction, both hip and warm, though you will find it almost always crowded, as many people visit the hotel for just that. Valet parking is kind of silly, as they just use the garage across the street, which anyone can do themselves for less money. The lobby is small and can get a bit chaotic during check-in/out times, but be patient and the staff will make it all worth while.

The Refinery Hotel was a wonderful way to start and finish my 30th Birthday weekend. We checked in EARLY but Gabriel and Dante comped our early check in fee and got us into a room right away. Our room was beyond spacious and incredible clean and modern with a twist. The beds were great as well as the bathroom. The mini bar was fully stocked and some of the items were cheaper than you could've gotten at a bar. The ambiance was everything at this Hotel. The restaurant and rooftop bar are in themselves must visit places. I will be booking a stay at The Refinery every time I visit. The location is close to everything you want without being smack dab in the middle of loud noisy Times Square.

The Refinery Hotel is an uber modern loft style hotel which hosts a trendy crowd of clientele. Loved the industrial style, high ceiling king studio room we were given with ample space to move around – I was given a higher floor hence better views of the Empire state building. The rooms are well appointed.

Choose your room carefully to avoid disappointment.

There is a super choice of hotel amenities liked this a lot –and a notch up from the normal five star offering and befitting of a hotel that wishes to create a certain ambience and uniqueness. I recall the young Irish front of house team member was exceptional in his service delivery. He went out of his way to ensure our stay was a delight he should be commended. Good housekeeping team also and concierge knowledgable and helpful.

This hotel is perfectly place for sightseeing and going to places within walking distance of 5th avenue and central park.

I thought the entrance was welcoming, warm and a nice winter venue perfect for a cold November

I loved the roof top bar with views across the empire state building –However , I hated the fact that it was open to all and sundry and indeed on our first night we could not get access until much later 10.30pm as a private outside party had hired the venue-hence we gave up.

Be warned as a guest you will no always get ‘exclusive access’ to this roof bar due to the letting out of this facilities to lots of heavy drinking parties of external non guests –so by late evening the lobby moves from on oasis of calm to a throbbing mess of drunken crowd leaving and arriving to the roof top bar.

There was no option for breakfast to be included within our original booking (however when you go there and you will quickly realise why ) and on the one occasion when we did go to breakfast in the adjoining Parker & Quinn brassiere we left totally disappointed, we were given bad seating location from the onset perched like a couple of pigeon on bar stools –additionally it was filled with a zoo of noisy brash corporate breakfast meeting crowds languishing on conformably seating areas, , it was like a scene out of ‘wolf of wall street ‘–for all the wrong reasons –absolutely awful, rude staff wanting a tip for doing nothing special. Apart from getting our bill wrong! –AVOID.

My suggestion was to join a friend two doors up at ‘The Archer Hotel’ for a calm far better choice and sedate environment for breakfast dining.

Avoid the brasserie adjoined to the Refinery Hotel if you want a gentle breakfast experience.

Overall well worth a visit..as lovely room and front desk team.

Four of us gals traveled to NYC for a theater weekend January 31-February 2, 2020 and the highlight of the trip was the wonderful accommodations at the Refinery Hotel. From the minute we pulled up in our Uber and were greeted by the very friendly and courteous bellman, Lamour (who indulged me in a birthday hug), to our check in experience with Mr. Kiernan, our first impressions were welcoming, elegant and exciting. The lobby and bar were busy with people arriving and mingling and lent a fun air of enchantment to our weekend adventure.

The rooms were spacious and immaculate and the furnishings were lovely and artistic. No big box hotel feel, and that is exactly what we wanted. Comfortable, affordable, proximal, clean and safe. Four of us women were able to navigate the room and restroom with no difficulty. It was much more spacious than other rooms I have stayed in on past trips to NYC.

The staff was exceedingly accommodating, and when I inquired at the coffee bar regarding decaf coffee, Rodney graciously brought me a cup of decaf and a tray so I could carry four coffees back to my friends in the room.

I discovered this property from a friend who had recently stayed at the Refinery and she highly recommended it. Her recommendation was spot on, including the complementary drink at the rooftop bar. The vibe was casual and intimate and the mixologist created the best cosmos and martinis!

We are traveling back to Manhattan for a wedding this June and I wouldn't think of staying anywhere else.

Let me preface by saying I typically only stay in Forbes Five Star Hotels and I also work in the hospitality industry here in NYC at a very iconic luxury hotel. I am a big fan of ‘staycations’ and due to our current Covid-19 situation and travel bans, never has It been more appealing to do this.

While of course many Hotels in NYC are still closed due to the pandemic, I stumbled upon the Refinery Hotel and stepped inside. Immediately I was won over by the intoxicating lovely scent, the beautiful decor, the long cat walk like entrance leading to reception and a beautiful cozy, warm feeling. I asked a very lovely manager named Aziza at the reception desk if she could kindly show me a few rooms and she truly went above and beyond and gave me such a lovely experience. We saw a room and a suite and I fell in love with the sleek bathrooms, stunning high ceilings, the dramatic corridors of the hotel and the exquisite Le Labo scent the use for their bath amenities.

Aziza was so kind and gracious and dare I say, bubbly. Like she seemed very genuinely happy to work here and I very casually mentioned it was my birthday celebration last week and as I was departing she bestowed upon me some beautiful gifts- a lovely candle with their signature scent that also burns in the lobby, a chilled bottle of water (the temps were soaring in NYC so this was a very lovely gesture!) and even a Refinery Hotel Mask! I was so won over by how charming she was and I truly cannot wait to stay here. She even quickly showed me their fab roof top which is open for lunch and dinner with a stunning birds eye view Of the ESB.

Thank you so much Aziza for taking the time to show me your beautiful hotel! Your warmth, beauty, and kindness meant so much to me! You made my day!

I look forward to my stay at The Refinery!

Stay safe and be well. Be sure to say hello to Aziza, she is a beautiful GEM! Her smile will brighten your day!

Rating reflects the room. On this occasion they gave me an average room. It was dark and pokey and yes that annoying square framed bed was present which ensured numerous bruises on the shins before departing.

Lesson learned, get a room on the 9th floor not the 6th.

Staff helpful and friendly. There was a rather enthusiastic house keeper who was intent on breaking down the door to clean the room despite the do not disturb sign being displayed but at least she was keen. It was only a shame I was sleeping off jet lag at the time.

We have now found a hotel in NY that we return to every time we go to NY city. Located in the garment district on 38th and 6th avenue, it is a great location. It's rooms are unique in that they kept the feel of its historic where milliners made hats. The rooms have a loft feeling. the bath is large with wonderful walk-in shower,

In addition, Gabriel greets us each time as if we are old friends. He goes out of his way to ensure all of our needs are met...such as refrigerating a NYC Cheesecake we bought to take with us the next day on the train to Connecticut; or giving us a bottle of refinery wine because it was my birthday. We also love the rooftop bar - but do make reservations if you want to sit at a table. it is popular from 5pm to closing. You get a fabulous view of the Empire State Building. The bar located at street level is busy too - but warm and welcoming. We have never had dinner there, but the appetizers we have had have been delicious.

Our stay with Refinery New York has some very special moments. We had 5 rooms booked for myself and our 3 adult children with partners together with another room for close friends. As can be expected booking in with 9 adults with so many rooms all under my credit card details was a challenge.

That being said Tommy Kiernan the front office manager was attentive and thorough and persisted with our issues of inaccurate booking details until it was resolved. I sincerely thank Tommy for his empathy and understanding in resolving this issue.

My family and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay and enjoyed the NYE celebrations at the roof top bar

The proximately of the hotel was perfect for sightseeing and also shopping

I would happily recommend this hotel to my friends and business partners.

Regards

Jennie

When I stayed there in March, I got the package that included parking. There is a parking garage directly across the street, where you park. I can't remember if I gave my ticket to the hotel front desk or how that worked, but it was pretty easy.
