Located in the heart of the East Village a fun walk to St. Marks on the corner of E 9th St. and 1st Avenue, a cultural hub of the city. We are a small hotel with full-featured rooms that include built-in kitchens (stove top, dishwasher and fridge) and 42" TVs with on-site laundry. There is a park nearby to relax in with an boutique coffee shop, "The Bean," right below.

great place to stay and a good area but at the time we were there, the breakfast place was closed. We were promised a refund, we never received it... They never even replied to our emails. NOT a great service... We payed for breakfast we never got, it's almost been one year now :-)

I’ll be upfront, we booked this hotel as part of a honeymoon trip to the States not expecting to cancel. We were getting married, and in order to make the trip cost effective for us we chose the non refundable option. However, Covid then happened and we ended up without a wedding and without a honeymoon. Our wedding dates changed, our flights were cancelled, and we were devastated. Every other hotel we booked to stay in during this trip, which consisted of at least 6 other locations, cancelled the booking without complaint. Unfortunately East Village Hotel dug heels in and flat out refused to even deal with us. So we are out of pocket and urging anyone we speak to about New York to avoid this place at all costs. I get it, businesses will be suffering too, but the lack of compassion has been very clear. So we are poorer, but can at least let everyone else know about this experience in order to make an informed decision about where to stay.

We have visited New York a number of times and are very glad to have discovered the East Village Hotel. We have now stayed there twice and wouldn’t consider staying anywhere else. The hotel is in a great location and the staff could not be more welcoming and helpful. Afrim in particular went out of his way to help with anything we needed and was the perfect host. We found the small kitchenette in the room was ideal when staying for a longer break of a week or ten days. The room is very clean and the bed extremely comfortable. The hotel is in a great location with great bars and restaurants and lots of small independent shops and vintage shops. All round a great place to stay in the east village neighbourhood.

We loved staying here and the location was fantastic with many restaurants, bars and shops around to explore during the day. We stayed for just over a week. Very central to all things in LES and East Village with the BEST pizza store across the road, make sure you try it. East Village Pizza. Room was great, compact but clean with a nice view of the street. There is also a small kitchenette which is helpful. It has everything we needed. Only negatives, the in-room refrigerator was really loud intermittently and the mattress needs to be replaced, and maybe 4 pillows on the bed instead of just two! We also didn’t have the breakfast that was complimentary in our booking due to unforeseen circumstances nor were we told this, I had to ask. Also don’t go there to sleep in as the room is ultra bright in the morning. We also asked for another blanket and that was attended too quickly. Room has adequate heating but we didn’t need it with the second blanket. Recommended for an affordable location in the east side.

The room seemed a bit misleading in the photos and the whole hotel did not live up to the expectations, I booked 2 rooms together, but ended up with rooms two floors apart. The staff were "pleasant" but not very helpful. The rooms had NO wardrobe, just a couple of hanging rails, and mainly for trousers. No safe facilities in the room, or a lift, bed was extremely (too) soft. Bathroom could have been cleaner and lacked the basics accessories. On the plus side the location was spot on (the area was great) and the coffee shop downstairs was very good. Overall a VERY disappointing stay, felt like more of a backpacker (that I used to stay in while travelling when I was younger) but FAR FROM backpacker prices, Most definitely not worth the price charged.
