Everything you could hope for when trying to spend less than $200 on a room in downtown (or anywhere) Manhattan in August. The room was clean, well lit, and the bathroom was very clean. Enough space to keep 2 of my suitcases open on the floor. Concierge was helpful and efficient. Really can't beat the location at Canal and Broadway...... More

Even though The Room was Small it was clean overlooked Broadway. The Lady & The 2 Guys on The Front Desk were very Helpful. It's not far to walk to some really good Chinese Food. The Markets for Gift Shipping were also close in Canal Street also there were many clothing Shops around the Corner on Broadway.

I booked this hotel for location and price. It was to be a place to "hang our hat" while we explored lower Manhattan for the weekend. Upon checkin, I was pleasantly surprised with accommodations and friendly staff. The room, though small, was completely adequate by New York hotel standards. We dropped off our bags, not returning to the room until... More

Ok so the rooms are small, but why worry when you are out all the time. Very clean and good coffee in the room. Reception staff were great and very helpful. Super location close to one world observatory and 9/11 museum and battery park. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

I became sick prior to a wedding in NYC, I contacted the hotel and they would not refund my room despite the 48 hours I gave them! I had to dispute this my credit card company, the "customer service" was HORRIBLE. My sister stayed here for the wedding and reported that it was VERY noisy and the beds were VERY... More

I stayed in this hotel twice the last couple years and was always pleased by the hotel. Location is excellent, directly on the main subway lines to go everywhere in Manhattan and Brooklyn. Room was clean and of a decent size for New York and the beds were comfy. The only down with the hotel is the noise coming from... More

If you are up till late night to enjoy the Times Square, you won't be able to catch up with your sleep during the day as the hotel is on the main Street and no sound proofing has been done The location is great as it is 20mins walking distance from Brooklyn Bridge, One World, and Staten Island Ferry. Starbucks... More

I stayed at this hotel two nights for business. Located between Little Italy and Chinatown it was a perfect location to walk a few minutes to Varick St. Canal Street is a very busy street with terrible traffic at pick hours and until late hours which makes it so noisy! I stayed at room 607, a king size bed, following... More

Right on Canal Street, a block away from Chinatown - this hotel is a great choice for a reasonably priced stay in Manhattan. Very few amenities - but the essentials (elevator, 24/7 door access, wifi, comfortable clean beds and bathrooms) are all there. We had a deluxe queen - which was more or less a two bedroom, ideal as we... More

This hotel is right next to the subway station, and is within 5 minutes of several other subway lines so it is fantastic for getting around either uptown or downtown. The decor is quite dated and pretty basic, though this generally may not matter for most people visiting NYC - you pretty much only sleep in your room and that's... More

Staying in Chinatown

Neighborhood Profile
Chinatown
Bursting with an amazing array of sights, sounds, and smells on every block, a visit to Chinatown feels like entering a different world. It’s a colorful spectacle that gets even more crowded on weekends, when families stream in to enjoy huge dim sum feasts and to stock up at the markets on Mott Street. To take a break from the buzz, grab something sweet from one of the many bakeries in the area and head to Columbus Park, where many Chinatown residents exercise, play games, and chat the day away.
