This hotel seems cheaper, but after the extra $20night they tack on to your deposit, it’s just as much as hotels with elevators and bars. NYC rooms are known to be small, but you can’t even pull the desk chair out all the way.
I traveled with a friend, and we were able to get a beautiful room with 2 queen beds and a sitting area for a great value, and the hotel has a great location, hence the 4 star rating. The only helpful staff was the day we checked out; it was good we were pretty comfortable with figuring out public transportation and other questions independently, because the staff was not visible, helpful or friendly otherwise.
Great place to stay. Room was beautiful and super clean. Staff was extremely pleasant snd helpful. Love the ambiance and little nooks and crannies to sit and relax in when not in the room. Lots of fun snd good restaurants in walking distance.
Pros: Very cute and quirky hotel. The staff was very friendly. I thought the room was spacious compared to other NYC hotels I’ve stayed in. I was concerned about managing 5 suitcases in a NYC hotel, but our room had 4 industrial shelves that worked perfectly to store our open suitcases without taking up any floor space. The hotel and room were exactly as pictured on the website. If you would like housekeeping services, you have to request it. I actually prefer this and hope this becomes a permanent thing post-covid. They did a great job when we requested it and also promptly took care of a maintenance issue. It was very nice to have 3 beds for our family of 5. There is no shortage of restaurants since Little Italy, Chinatown, and Soho are all a short walk from the hotel. Cons: The complimentary coffee service is discontinued due to covid. This was kind of a big deal for our coffee-dependent family since it added another $25+ to each day. I think it is a bit of a stretch to say the hotel is in Soho since it is definitely not on cobblestone streets, surrounded by trendy boutiques and restaurants. We had no view at all from our 2nd floor room, facing north. I don’t know if other rooms had a good view though. Since there is a bar in the hotel, I’m not sure when/if the door to the hotel is ever locked. There was often no employees in sight, so it seemed that anyone could wander in at any time. Overall, we were very happy with the hotel and would consider staying here again.…
Need I write more...but seriously, the room was cute and clean with lots of counter space for your belongings. They had a Kodak camera in my room that I didn't get a chance to use but I thought was a cool feature. Only negative is that they do not have an elevator. I wanted to return with my mom in November but was told there is no handicap option.
