We were in NYC for the Global Festival in Central Park in September. But we wanted to stay where there were plenty of restaurants and cool places to go within a few blocks and the Meatpacking District definitely fits that bill. The Gansevoort Meatpacking can be whatever you want it to be. Looking for a quiet getaway - and a...

Agreed with other reviewers that this hotel has a fantastic location for access to the Village, Chelsea, SoHo, and best of all, the Highline, which is literally steps away. Getting out to the west side highway via cab is also incredibly quick and easy. Service was phenomenal and as a former New Yorker I was struck by the feel of...

The hotel was a perfect location with great service. Shopping and restaurants were very convenient. The only challenge we had was the air conditioning was a bit suspect. Oh, and John the Doorman was fantastic.

The rooftop pool area was the best place for watching the NYC 4th of July fireworks. The staff was friendly and helpful. We were there with our kids and they were very accommodating. The rooms were comfortable. I would say 3-4 start quality. There were some cosmetic things that could get repaired but overall very nice. The area is great...

Half way through the stay, so far so good. Very friendly staff from the door staff to the reception team. Nice size room with good view, and a pool on the roof with an even better view. May try the gym before dinner as I hear that is well fitted out. All in all a good hotel in a great...

Knew about this hotel from others who had stayed there. Wife and I were looking for a hotel in a happening area of NYC so this was and is a good place for a lot of activity. Dear Dale O, Thank you for the review. We’re glad you got away from the bustling streets and took advantage of all that our rooftop has to offer. This is our top pick for a hotel downtown. It's location close to the High Line and Hudson River Park is a big bonus. Staying in West Village

Neighborhood Profile
West Village
Stretching from Sixth Avenue to the Hudson River, the West Village is one of the city’s most coveted addresses. Full of trendy shops, historic taverns, and cozy restaurants set amid 19th century architecture, this neighborhood has a unique old-world feel. You won’t find a more picturesque location in Manhattan. Without the traditional city grid layout, it’s easy to get lost here, but that’s part of the fun as you stroll down elegant narrow streets with beautiful brownstones. When you need a break, you can always stop in at one of the many quaint eateries or cafes to soak in the atmosphere, or head to the western edge of the neighborhood to enjoy magnificent waterfront views while taking a leisurely walk in Hudson River Park.
